Filling Psy hole

What partner would be the best for an Invul melee?
Dark/ fender because of the 20% psy res (unenhenced but still, looks low) and molto control+debuffs?
or X-troller just because CCed mobs do not hit back?

So let me get this straight... you're looking for a partner to "fill your (psi) hole" is that what you're saying?

Ok all joking aside... even without outside help you can have significant psi resist/defense if you use the right IO's. My own inv/ss tanker has around 32% resist AND defense to psi without any outside buffs and goes as high as 52% with a full stack of the ATO proc buff.

With that said yes a dark defender who stays near you with Shadow Fall will provide a nice chunk of psi resist and multi-positional/type defense. 20% is nothing to sneeze at. I'd say go with the defender over the controller if your really concerned about high amounts of resist since they will provide stronger buffs and debuffs. A dark/dark defender also has a fair amount of control as well as some nice blasting potential.

I have NO opinion on a gaping spot in defences. I tend to play a plant/dark controller. Funny how mobs don't hit back WHILE I have decent defenses against psychic-ness :P

Of course a properly slotted Force Field Controller would give them around 28% defense to All typed(with the exception of Psi) and Positional Defenses while they're inside the dispersion bubble. It would still give him nearly 12% Psi defense inside dispersion.

Those numbers on a defender would be higher. Around 42% defenses to all but Psi while inside Dispersion, and over 17% to Psi as well.

Not being rude but...why can't your friend play what they want? Unless of course..they specifically ASKED what will go better with your brute..in which case..fair enough.

Also, are you guys playing red or blue side? Blueside, you can get to 50 easily and basically see NO psi damage (outside of some arachnos scanners, psi clocks) and having someone make a ton to fix the hole...is a bit unneeded.

Of course, in incarnate trials, there is a lot of psi thrown about. But even then..you would have IOs maybe giving some coverage and a WHOLE league! (unless you run of to ty solo stuff..) Again..whole league..and if you arent playing with teh friend every single time..does it really matter what they make?
