Would this Plant/Dark build be able to solo?

Hi there, just like the title says. I was trying to build a plant/dark that could do enough damage to solo. This look like it would work? And if not, can you recommend what fixes I need to make to it? It's a variation of a build I found on this board but without the mace pet (kind of hate most of the arachnos pets).

Wow. Did I do something stupid or the build just so bad no one has the heart to break it to me?

Stand UP.
FIGHT BACK!

Heh. I'll write something more indepth in like..six hours when I get back from work

Disclaimers:I'm still fairly nub to CoX as well, but I feel that seting up a working, awesome controller that others initially built for me has shown me enough about the logics of CoX that I'm not totally failsauce
Furethermore, I'm rocking a Plant/Dark as well atm, and utterly loving what feels like the most...controlly controller ever(HORRIBLE phrasing, But.....The flytrap controls. the Servant controls. You control. There's a lot of control between the two sets :P)

So..leaping straight into the nitty gritty
1. You have 3 slots in health, with 2 procs, and 1 non-awesome Numina's Convalescence:Heal. If you remove the numconheal, and add that slot to stamina, and put in a performance modifier, chance for +end there, you WILL be happier

2. You can put like..four damage procs in carrion creepers, and then just be like "lol. I tied a chainsaw to a tree, and planted it in the ground. lulz"

3. Honestly, when you look at all the other position-based control you'll have available to you+the healing and defense dark provides you, I'd definitely toss spirit tree. At lower levels, I'd prefer another hold, and at higher levels, I'd just want more slots for other powers. It's like the song says "Anything Dark Servant Does, Spirit Tree either ignores, or does worse." So...drop spirit tree, get one of many cooler abilites.

4. There's a distinct lack of both ATOs and slotting in your holds. I'd recommend focusin a little on "being able to hold like a ****" :P

5. Actually, if I'm willing to insult YOUR build, I should most definitively post mine up as well. Goose/Gander Corrolary an all that

But seriously, if you're willing to spend 100mill+ for each coercive confusion part, you should definitely toss on the ATO, then just save up to upgrade it later. you're legally obligated to LOVE 5% ranged defense, 10% recharge, and that hilarious 8-or-4% more to each form of control, depending on control type line :P

There need to be more bonus lines that say "huge piles of buffs. for ALL holds. But We gotta spell out each one".

But..yeah. my build is .5 seconds away from permahasten, and I'm debating getting an alpha with a recharge bonus for that .5 seconds

or going ENTIRELY purple. For that last .5s hasten time :P

either way, madness is in my future

Solo what? EBs? AVs? GMs? +4x8? You have to kind of give us an idea of what you're wanting to solo.

If you just mean 'the game in general', then yes, plant/dark can definitely do the job.

Ancillilary/hijackin the thread plant/dark question:
I saw that you can put the achilles proc in venus flytrap. Would that proc go off enough that it would boost overall dps between you and the trap more than it would if I tossed in an acc/dam IO?
How many DPS-ers would it take before the proc was a noticable damage boost?

Thanks for the advice and especially for the build. I'm not really used to working with controllers, and I'm hearing things about how the devs are going break procs and disallow useful builds that rely on them or something. Hopefully that's not going to happen for a while, because this build looks like a lot of fun.

What do I want to solo?

Itrials.

Well not really. But everything else I can manage to. GMs, AVs, etc etc. I can do that with most of my toons, but they largely focus on an entirely different playstyle. My experience and understanding of control toons is obviously lacking, and I wanted to experience as much of it as I could.

The build above has that idiotic robot spider in it, and I hate those things with the intensity of a thousand stars, so I'm going to see if I can find a way to get the same benefit with a different pick. To me the arachnos pets are fail, fail, fail. I hate being forced into an Arachnos pigeonhole if I want a pet.

I think you mean to say "That build above has an permahasten, and a very snazzy ST attack chain, and the ability to roll 3 deep with 3 permapets" :P

The only troller powers that will be hit hard by the proc changes are the AoE Immos. You can still make uber proc builds. For me the best Primary for proc abuse is Plant and for secondaries /Storm

If you want pets try /Storm. You have psuedo pets but don't have to worry about them dying or agroing stuff.

I have a high end (and I mean high end) Plant/Storm build if you want an idea of the kinda of firepower I am talking about: Perma Hasten, Procced up ST/AoEs, Mez protection, Incarnate ranged softcap, etc.

I have editing my Destiny power to only show the 2 min buff so I get an accurate idea of base power. Turn on accolades too.

Basically my build works around stacking multiple proc heavy Tornadoes, Creepers and Rains to kill enemies. Throw in Fly traps and Lightning Storms for good measure.

The ST and AoE rotations are not brilliant but in many ways they are just secondary. Anything sub AV will pretty much be wasted in a few seconds. I kill most spawns without using any ST or my two regular AoEs. Even on itrials you have huge amounts of overkill.

About the only thing that should beat you ST wise are Huntsman stacking resists with pets and running Core Hybrid assault. Then again they are the best in the game at it so no shame there.

-Regen is not a problem is -regen is heavily overrated as is. You only need it if you DPS sucks.

Defence wise you should be fine (at least by troller standards) with great CC, ranged def incarnate softcap, mez protection (full range), Kb prot (always nice even with hover) and decent resists.

I run with endurance reduction in some powers simply because even with 5+ end regen a second this build can still run dry. My Plant/Cold runs has to run a double stack of Heat Loss (total of 8+ end a second) to not run dry but that has zero end reduction. The primary focus of my power builds is to maximise throughput (ie minimise bottlenecks).

Some nice things about this build are:

1) Can max stack Interface debuffs even when solo
2) Also has access to Core Hybrid assault (since it has several pets) shenanigans
3) The i24 proc changes won't have much effect since pseudo pets themselves (Rain, Creepers and Tornado) are immune to recharge.

Took a lot of time (and inf) to get this build to this point. Experimented with multiple tricked out Brutes, MMs and several other trollers before I finally settled on Plant/Storm.
