Neither my mouse or the keyboard are wireless. As for the programmable buttons; Nothing terribly fancy, just the standard music keys (Play, stop, next/previous track), volume controls, the light switch that keeps it lit in either Blue, Purple, Red or Off and the dimmer knob for it.
It's a Saitek Eclipse II. None of the music keys really do anything. There's no setup or drivers for it as far as I can tell. Windows 7 just sorta installed the thing when I plugged it in and booted it up. It even calls the keyboard by name with the proper image of it and everything. -
Thanks for the technical description! Much appreciated.
So what you're saying is, I should change out my keyboard and/or mouse? I'm using the ones from my old rig (I have that really nice lite-up Saitek keyboard and an old Microsoft Optical Mouse), so could that be the issue with input lag? -
I'm not seeing any red spikes of packet loss as I'm running and jumping around.
This is what netgraph is showing.

I'm not well-versed in this stuff... Is this good or bad? -
I just upgraded my old, old, 6 year old rig to a new HP with Windows 7. 64 bit Quad Core, 8 gigs of ram, and (regrettably) an ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics card. After reading through as much of Bill's handy-dandy ATI guide as I could, I didn't encounter anything like this.
The game loads much faster than before and I can finally access the market without the game choking, but it seems my inputs don't register until well after I put them in. I tap the spacebar and my toon sits there for a little, THEN jumps. Hold a button to move forward.. A pause, then they move. It's like... they're questioning my actions for a moment. :P
Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix? I heard Going Rogue is going to fix the ATI compatability issues. Any truth to that? -

I can try to answer the Fractured Dawn question.
If my memory serves me right, that took place when the devs nixed the 5th Column and had the Council take their place. There was a "movie" to be made in regards to it, and the devs held a contest to see who could come up with the best title. The one title chosen would name the film, and the person who submitted the entry would star.
I remember entering this, but the winner turned out to be none other than Fractured Dawn. It strikes me, however, that FD has probably moved on to greener pastures if you're able to make a character with that name.
Or you're the same person with amnesia.
Or it's a Nemesis plot.
... It's always a Nemesis plot. -
I've had this issue for a while.. My computer's getting kinda up there in years, but I'm pleased with its ability to run City of Heroes/Villains. It runs things a bit choppy when things get hectic, but the only time I ever experience severe disconnecting lag is when I go to the markets to shop.
Is it really necessary to default to searching for the ENTIRE Market Database when I first go to the market? This excessive data pull usually causes my system to choke for a long time, then load with a Mapserver Disconnect and eventually kicks me out to the title screen. I can simply re-enter the game and it will work (after some waiting), but I'd like to not have to deal with game re-entry.
To make a long story short; Is there a way to default the market to only load info when I search for it? -
Defeat TV-headed Lost to earn the TV contact? Insane or no?

I played Hero side, and I tried an Inv/Axe build, and an NRG/NRG Blaster.
The Axe Tanker did poorly. The night I went on, it seems the villains were all testing the high-level Elec Brutes and Thug MMs. With the rampant Energy damage from Electric Melee flying around, combined with Inv's low Energy Resistance means I didn't last too terribly long. Axe is all lethal damage, and since everyone and their brother has S/L resists, Axe does pretty lame damage.
The Energy^2 Blaster did much better: Energy damage was a godsend, as I could actually do damage. I spent a lot of time flying around Sniper Blasting people... Anyone who TP Foe'd me was met with Nova. BOOM!
I now know what Gang War is designed to do. Swarm a Player with so much crap their computer stalls, ensuring an immobile, inactive target. -
I'm torn here.
On the plus side, it's good to see that they want to make this release as smooth as possible. First thing I'm doing is taking each of my toons to Icon. Gotta have those new costume pieces I've been waiting for since October of '05.
On the negative side, it's been -how- long since we've seen markedly new content on live? What, 7-8 months? It's getting closer and closer to a year's wait.
Miss Kitty is right (as usual). A few more weeks won't hurt. *eye twitch* -
I like the initial changes, but there had best be more changes coming, Castle... Sounds like you've just disappointed most of the Archers out there. We were hoping you'd buff the set to where people actually see TA as a viable Primary and not a freakin' joke.
Other defender sets outdo TA's debuffs with fewer powers that are learned earlier, and the other sets have heals and buffs to further distance themselves from TA. Not only that, the recharge times on TA's powers are frustratingly long, with some of them being early in the set.
Don't stop the music now, Castle. I'm not sure if Positron (A fellow Defender!) is still paying attention to the ill-executed TA problem, but we could really use more buffs. -

I'm with the others, Positron. You and Statesman are completely off your rockers. I'm under the impression now, more than ever, that both of you frown upon the usefulness of Tanks, especially the Invulnerability ones.
First came the Global Defense Nerf. This made Tanker Resistances much less valuable to a Tanker's survivability, and his or her reliance on +Def to stay alive. This hit Invulnerability hard because Inv has four passive powers that grant +Res. These powers would have to be six slotted with +DamRes in order to be MARGINALLY effective. Second comes this Enhancement Diversification. Now the 6-slotted passives are worth even less to the Inv Tank's survivability. This does not help my tank stay alive. This does not help my team stay alive. This helps absolutely nobody.
Everyone gets nerfed this time: The Global Defense Nerf was to make sure +Def and +Res sets couldn't do much by themselves. The Enhancement Diversification hits all the other classes AND those "balanced" by the GDN.
My poor Tank.. He's slowly becoming less and less fun to play, because his effectiveness is being reduced time after time.
I was skeptical at first to the others who say the Developers aren't playing the same game we are. I'm starting to believe the players are right. If you're going to screw me over with the Enhancement Diversification, give me my Resistances back! -
I'm with Iron Vixen on the Invulnerability bludgeoning: Post-I5 the passive Resists just aren't worth taking or slotting, and Tough Hide and Invincibility have overshadowed them. It's a shame when one passive power (Tough Hide) provides more survivability than three of the same type (All three +Res powers). Invulnerability has six powers that offer resistance, and more than half of them aren't worth taking at all with the mis-aimed nerfs. +Def is not the name of Invulnerability; +Res is.
Let's also not forget, for each nerf you hit the Inv Tanks with, you hit the Inv Scrappers X-times harder.
Please lower the Invincibility Buffs. Invincibility was the only thing overpowered about Invulnerability before Issue 5 and the Global Defense Nerfs. There wasn't anything wrong with any of the resistances; Why were they nerfed in lieu of the obviously overpowering Invincibility? -
Name: Golden Matthias
Powers: Inv/SS
Origin: Natural
Backstory:
One of the premiere fighters in Paragon City's Grappling Federation, "Golden" Matthias Vanguard rose up from the streets of mediocrity to the highest ranks in the federation, holding the title for an extended period of time, longer than most other champions. His natural athletics and general toughness helped him endure several of his more intense matches, and would serve to help him through his toughest foe yet.
As he reigned champion, The Family stepped in. Dissatisfied with Matthias's inability to lose, they sent him an ultimatum: The title would change hands to a fighter in the Family's ranks, or pay the penalty. Matthias would have none of this. As a media icon and popular athlete, he would not give in to intimidation.
After a rather rigorous match with the Family's Johnny One-Step, Matthias left the arena and landed right in the clutches of a Family ambush. They remained true to their word as they gave Matthias the beating of his life. The beating took him right out of the federation, and into a hospital bed, where he would remain for quite some time.
Months passed, and with a clean bill of health, Matthias was filled with new purpose. He trained long and hard, disappearing from the ranks of the federation for a few years. This time was spent going through rigorous physical training, vastly increasing his strength and toughness to the utmost limits of the human body. He felt ready to face the Family and their crooked federation.
Matthias arrived at the next federation event with a purposeful stride and fists of might. Walking past the other contenders, Matthias went straight into the Family's center of operations, and promptly cleaned house. With a confession from the chairman, the Federation was dissolved, and Matthias felt vindicated, having stopped the Family's operation.
With a sense of accomplishment, and with the Family's contacts behind bars, Matthias went out into the city to try his hand at stopping other criminals, to defend truth and deliver justice in Paragon City.
