The animation is certainly different.

Charged Brawl for blasters uses brawl's animation.

Charged Brawl for brutes uses Jab's animation.

Personally, I like brawl better.

i agree the jab animation makes it look clunky. it should be the brawl/shadow punch animation

personally ive never had a problem with the jab power itself except ive never liked the animation.

did you remember to attack? I took on three 1+ minions and one 1+ LT was close but i got them all.

Anyone else thing Jacobs ladders cone is very very small? I can only catch 2 of them in there.

Havoc Punch seems to have a half second delay or so before actually activating, all other powers so far are working fine.

Bugged this in game. Unsure if it's a general issue/bug or specific to Electric Melee and Armor...but on the Enhancement screen I don't get the pop up showing enhancement % information for Electric Melee at all. And on the armor I get only some of the information...not every enhancement...but at least a pop up appears with some information. This is happening for all the powers in the sets I have.

I played when the sever came back online last night and got my electric brute to lvl 8. So far I have Havoc punch, Jacobs Ladder, Thunder Strike, Charged Armor, Lightning Field and Conductive Shield. The set seems pretty solid so far. I haven't gotten to test the Thunder Strike at all because I had to log right after I got it, but I will test it more today. All of the attacks seem to hit hard and aside from the small cone of attack from jacobs ladder I love the set so far.

I know it will never happen, but it would be cool if we could pick what color our electric was, so say if we wanted blue electric or yellow electric instead of the red. For some reason I don't like the red really. But I digress.

The cone seems ok to me. It's bigger than Eviscerate for sure, and seems a bit bigger than Shadow Maul too.

So far the set seems good but balanced. The sound effects are OK, but they don't give you the sense of SMASH!! Graphics are nice.

Good job devs.


The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

I was getting the mobs so close that even a cone should have hit more than one and still nothing (I KNEW it supposedly affected more than one person! heh I was half right atleast)

But yeah I haven't seen any cone-ness and that's like I said with 2 almost next to each other and another pair that was congo-line style.

Though I too already love the sets the animations for the shields look good and fit the set while not blocking the character out entirely (a first for any armor set I gotta say)

And I like the red color.

That's odd, I've had no problem hitting two or three enemies at a time with JL. I've found it so much easier to hit multiples with the JL cone than with Evicerate's 'cone' that I'm thinking of just dropping Evicerate completely now that other Claw attacks are good.

I'm wondering if a lot of the "trouble lining up cones" stuff I have heard is related to lag - it was pretty bad when I was on last night, and definitely messed up many of my JL cones.

The ones that did hit looked noticeably larger than Shadow Maul - perhaps about the same size as Ripper.

i guess i will be in the "JL is small, and have yet to hit more than one person with it", but maybe i will give it more time then.

i was getting angry that 2 people were stacked and i click the father person, and it said i was too far away, so i get closer and now the guy in the middle... isn't anymore >.<

Ran a toon to lv 3 last night will continue on today. In the quick time i was on street hunting seemed to me it delivers some pretty decent damage. Not sure if this is more due to Snakes not resisting energy attacks like they do the smashing damage in SS or Stone.

Noticed a lag in activation vrs the recharge of the attack icons. Would click an attack when it was available and get the recharging message. Could have been server lag though.

Other than the minor end drain I didn't notice it providing any secondary effects like stun or knockup/back. Is there anything with some of the higher level attacks?

Thoughts on slotting end mod enhancments in the attacks and maybe being a stamina free build?

yeah i noticed the "charge" on attacks too, i thought maybe it was just the set. that was another thing that annoyed me about JL.

In my experience using Jacob's Ladder i found it hard at first to get multiple enemies, but I managed to get 3 in one shot. Having played a DM brute up to 40 the cone feels smaller to me than Shadow Maul.
Jacob's Ladder seems more like a line than a cone really.

One reason people might be having trouble hitting multiple targets is those damn snakes! They're bigger than most other mobs, and they move fast. I was having trouble lining up good shots on the snakes, but against the infected i could almost always get at least 2

I even put a level 2 acc enhance in each one of my attacks to see if that would help. Really no change. If this is a bugg it desperately needs to be fixed.

This was pretty much my experience -- what is up with the targeting -- I'd hate to have to triple slot aim just to hit more than once every 6th time.

This is my primary concern with the set. Sure it has the 'zap' sound when you strike your opponent, but without some kind of actual 'punch' sound, the set just doesn't quite feel as 'Smashy' enough.

Granted, this is a cosmetic gripe. As for the powers, so far it looks great.

I noticed this as well. I seemed to be missing a great deal more than normal. Does EM have an inherent Acc penalty?

DM has some acc issues because it does two forms of damage or so I heard at one time. I wonder if ELM is having the same issue?

I tried on both Snakes an Rippers... The Rippers were practically doing the pottery wheel from ghost they were so close an still no damage.

That was fixed a few months back, can't remember when.

And to the people feeling accuracy is low: It's probably just that you aren't used to playing lowbies...even if you slot two training origin enhancements you'll still be significantly worse off than with just one SO.
