I wonder what the Dark Melee Assassination power will be like.

[/ QUOTE ]

Think Tenebrous Tentacles.

*em inserts hentai joke*

[/ QUOTE ]

What? Did someone mention Evan's Spiked Tentacles of Forced Intrusion ?

WOOT! Sign me up!

Sorry but that sounds nuts to me. Are you actually suggesting that we have Tanks with Illusion Control powers or Controllers with Stone Armor. How about an Empathy Defender with Super Strength?
IMHO we need more specific powers not less. Sure everyone wants to be the vaunted "Tank/Mage" with great armor, melee attacks and powerful ranged attacks plus lots of support spells... but if you allow that everyone would be 95% identical to everyone else.

And clean out your litter box!

Some people need to remember this is just an update, not a new game.

[/ QUOTE ] Hmmm, some people would say I5 and ED did make this a new game.

I stand corrected, then. I've never looked too much into CoV, so. However, I think the point still stands. I mean, content gaps in CoH has been discussed since before CoV was in existence. I just figured they'd have different priorities in order. But I guess those Mayhem missions are CoV's equivalent to CoH's outdoor missions in Issue 1, but I'm sure CoV has outdoor missions, so...

[/ QUOTE ]

<_<

Outdoor missions in CoV? Ha! I never saw one...

>_>

[/ QUOTE ]

Umm cape mission? Plenty of "trips" to places in Paragon City. I can remember several. None to the park so far . . .

Doesn't do anything for the game either.

[/ QUOTE ]

"Exclusivity" actually does set apart the ATs a bit. Empathy is a "hero" only thing (at least when you started your character.)

Mace and Axe are "tank" powers, where as the rest of the melee attacks are more generic.

Brutes right now have *no* seperate and unique powers.

They share all of their attacks with Tanks and secondaries with tanks and stalkers. They need something that say "this is brute only".

Ranged attacks are a little muddled right now. I don't think that there is *enough* exclusivity in there yet.

Still here, even after all this time!

I don't think she means anything of the sort. But there are certain powersets that could certainly bridge between archetypes.

Every day they seem to say that nothing is what it was. We spin and spoil and onwards we toil but consistency eludes us. Why not, we cry, can things remain for just a single while? They change and change and nothing stays the same... for us it's quite a trial.

The world will cease to move, the very air freeze into solid impenetrability, the world replies, the very same instant that your mind ceases to notice.

I play different ATs because they play differently. Who has what power set only matters to me when it starts to [censored] over my ability to play the characters I want to RP... which is quite a long list considering I have a year+ of "Oh that is goo... oh wait.. right.. exclusive power sets.. and this character wouldn't suit x AT.".

[/ QUOTE ]

I know it's not out yet, but wouldn't a power customization system resolve this urge better than set sharing?

Yes it would to an extent, but it's a looong way off.

Agreed, but if this is an issue, let's rabble rouse to get that off the back burner instead of rabble rousing to share every set it is possible to share (to the detriment of those who want to play a more "unique" character).

Depends..

The only "punching" set for scrappers is dark melee. You have THREE punches. Oooh.. yeah.. some punching set. What if your concept is punching and scrapping.. you could change the effects to something non dark if that clashes, but what about the moves themselves? Dark consumption is still dark consumption. Touch of fear? Hard to fit the more exotic moves into a more normal punching scrapper.

What if the options aren't there? I doubt you will be able to make an axe tank and replace the axe with a broadsword. I don't know why, but something tells me that isn't going to happen.

We NEED more shared sets.

As several have noted, I7 features content mostly for City of Villains (levels 41 to 50, in fact). This is exactly what we did for CoH. City of Heroes will receive a cool graphics upgrade, new base items (Empowerment stations!) and access to Recluses’ Victory. It’s true that CoV received more attention, but that’s mainly because we needed to fill out the levels. I had the option of releasing I7 or waiting until we could fill out the City of Heroes content. Obviously, I chose the former. New content should get out there when it’s ready. We'll be focusing equally as much as possible on each product moving into the future...

For those who have speculated that Newspaper missions are coming to City of Heroes, they aren’t…yet. That’s coming a little later in the year. I’d like to add something different to the CoH system…

What would be so unique about a defender character using a defender only combo? Anyone can go and make a defender with those power sets.

Rawr!

::Tackles Statesman.::

I'm sorry for being so.. "passionate" last night. When I find something I care about I don't half [censored] it... and I tend to overreact. The problem is that I don't tend to open my mouth unless I care THAT much. Sorry for being a [censored].

Now that that is out of the way..

::Shakes him::

I want a MA/EA scrapper!

With all due respect, I don't think you've chosen wisely. Taken together with your recent announcements in various interviews: power customization=no, new powers/ATs=no, new costumes=no, Skills=no, et al, the decision to exclude CoH content in I7 pretty much kills my remaining interest in your games.

How much, exactly, of the features you personally promised us back in CoH Beta are going to happen? Right now, I count zero.

Coincidentally, that corresponds exactly with my continued interest and soon, my subscription figures.

thanks
Cal2

Forgive me, but I'm a sick puppy. I'm literaly giggling to myself imagining what would happen if CoV followed the exact same development path as CoH. That would give villains 5 issues before heroes got one more.

Yeah, mean, I know.

For the record though, maybe a proverbial bone for heroes would squelch some of the dissention.

Actually, if they could fit in the Fallen/Redeemed trial into i7, I'd be very happy as that adds *FIVE* Arch Types worth of content to City of Heroes!

Still here, even after all this time!
