Any chance of the Marcone Capo badge for villains (Gangbuster) to have its requirements toned down? Currently it is 200 bosses - bosses that are only half of the possible Family bosses (And I believe the general Family badge only requires 100).
The fact is, that Marcone badge is only readily available in Port Oakes, and the bosses are so spread out, thaat you end up tediously hunting for quite a while. The badge being necessary for the Slot Machine contact exemplifies this problem, especially because the 30+ CoV game is limited on contacts, and you need to do the Slot Machine's missions to reach level 35, unless you want to do mindless PvP and Newspaper missions for a long time.
Also - I am glad to hear that Arbiter Leery is fixed now. I have two 40s who could have used that contact, rather than do a trillion PvP missions.

[/ QUOTE ] Yea, was this fixed recently? Because as someone else has said, the only time I've ever seen the patroll badge awarded was when it was your patroll mission. Nobody on any team I've been on has ever been awarded the badge unless it was their mission, not even if they were the same level as the mission holder.
Now, of course, it's been a little while since I've done any of those missions and I may have missed a patch note somewhere, but that's been my experience.

Ever consider using the player base for that? I'm sure your legal department will go bug-eyed at the thought and your art department would probly still need to touch it up, but we would certainly love it, both in in having a hand in the game and seeing badges added quicker.

It would be kind of helpful if where it says unknown...it could maybe give us a hint (I know after you start killing "x" it waill say defeat "x" to "x" but a hint right off the bat would be nice).

Positron, I'm on the whole very pleased with badges, and I don't want to sound too critical, but I have two questions/concerns:

Some badges have placeholders and some don't (like Isolator, except it's justified). Some badges have counters and some don't (like Mentoring vs. Inf gain, or Lorekeeper in CoV differing from all other history badges). Some badge placeholders have descriptions and some don't (i.e. ???)
Would it be very difficult to make all the badges consistent with each other, all having a placeholder with a description or hint and a counter-bar to tell you how far along you are? I think this would be much appreciated.

Some badges have crazy requirements, and are not just challenging, but boring (i.e. Illusionist). This can't be just because it's got an accolade associated with it, because I soloed Croatoa and got every defeat badge for that accolade in the course of doing regular missions (something that's impossible with the Archmage accolade). Might some badges requirements be reduced like Zookeeper was?

Not sure I agree that the requirements for the Archmage badge are signifigantly greater time wise than the requirements for the Geas of the Kind Ones badge.
For the illusionist, you can get a farm team of 8 people and have the badge in -- if memory serves -- about 2 hours. The Geas badge requires 3 rare monster spawn badges. Each one alone will require about 2 hours of camping, and you still need a team to take them down (well, except for Sally, where it's just polite).
That blue thing running around saying "Cookies are sometimes food" is Praetorian Cookie Monster!
Shoot on sight, please.
One thing I really think should be added, and has been suggested before, are progress bars on all badges that should have them.
Notably, the influence gained badges, healing badges, held badges, debt badges(yes, even the debt badges), the new pvp badges that require a number of kills or missions, not rep.
Level 50 is a journey, not a destination.

Yeah under the current setup they have to see atleast 4 or 5 zones out of the 14+ zones...not counting zones like Boomtown and Faultline and the Shadow Shard which are generally ghost towns anyway...Once you hit 15 you never have to look at another non-pvp zone...except for traveling from one pvp zone to the other
15-25+ BB, 25-30+ Siren, 35-40+ Warburg...next PvP zone will probably mean you can hit 50 and not go beyond your level 15 contacts...yay for PvP powerleveling...

Well you could reuse badges like you did with the Moonfire an SS TFs which share their badge images with explore badges...or you could use the badge images for damage dealt that have allegedly been pulled from .pigg files and are on display on sites like CoH Guru which also names the badges...

Kill Count badges (of which the Giant Monster badges are, just with a Kill Count of 1) require you/your team do 25% of the entity's HP in damage in order to get credit. So in theory 4 teams could all get credit (much more likely that 3 teams will get credit).
In your scenario of Tanker + 7 blasters vs. 8 blasters, I have to assume that both teams would get the badge, since both teams are going to contribute over 25% damage to the entity.

What about scenario's where a ninth man comes in on a spawn of an exceptionally rare thing like Kraken and does a couple thousand damage or more and doesn't get a badge? It's hard enough to find these without getting screwed out of it because the team didn't have room for a 9th man...

Any chance that they won't require you to enter PvP to get them? I know atleast one history badge (Swashbuckler) requires you to enter a PvP zone, or two, or three, to get the last plaque or two...or three...but atleast one is in PvE...
Also exactly what % of time must you be in a mission to get the badge? What about TFs? A character can theoretically spend upwards of 10 hours in some cases in a TF workin their butt off only to get screwed out of the badge because they weren't in the last mission long enough (sometimes as little as 10-20 minutes...out of 10 hours)for one reason or another (server stability problems, login server crashes, etc) . As it stands the entire group of 8 could log out and just let 2-3 people run the whole tf then the other 5 log back in on the last mission and get a relatively easy badge...doesn't quite seem fair.

And it's only ONE ore sample. It's not like Rocketman where you have to do ten. So, please, stop asking for datamining. I'd imagine he gets stressed out by all this.
You can get one ore sample in like, ten minutes.
This means I have a whole patch to waste my Shivans in battle so I can get them all over again along with a badge when that patch hits.

That's sensible.
One question though - if there's no way to do their jobs (say, you're outleveling them before you ever enter a zone), is there any way to stop the zone contacts from automatically being plugged into your contact bar?
I'm weird in that I try to at least fill all those contact bars out on mine and it's only frustrating to see that as soon as I enter a zone I'm saddled with a contact I'll NEVER be able to progress with.
Or barring that, can a way to REMOVE contacts you'll never get to progress on be concocted?

But the patrol mission badge cannot be earned in this manner. Will this aspect be fixed if mission will not go to lvl 50???

I should hope so. Badges get quite hard to keep track of after 250 or so, and i don't think it would be to hard to make art for it.

Any possibility that Accolades will be modified to be usable at any level when RSKed? Currently, people who were 50 when they were introduced can't use their Crey Pistol when rsked to level 47, when others can use them much earlier.
While I don't care about PvP, this also brings up the idea of new characters getting useful accolades like Archmage and Vanguard that can be used in PvP zones, while old ones cannot, and never had a chance to try for it. I only bring this up because it seems like PvP issues get a lot of attention.
P.S. I once PMed you about this, and you said you'd ask Poz. After several months and no word, I PMed Poz, and he said he'd look into it. I don't mean to pester you guys about it, but I'm hoping you won't forget it either.

Just a thought, but if the number of tabs are too much why not split them by complete / incomplete?
I would also love it if you could "hide" your contacts that don't have any missions for you, because after you have done with a contact they are just so much junk on the list.

Woo, I can answer this... ANY damage works.
When my elec/elec was helping out, we had a scrapper tanking and me fighting. Summoned Ill's would show up, I'd throw a single Ball Lightning at 'em, we'd get the "You have defeated" when they disappeared for all of 'em.

The best skill for Illusionist hunting/farming is Caltrops. Auto-hit damage on the summoned ones, keeps the Master controlled.

Sorry Posi, but this won't work for the patrol badge(risk taker/wanted I think for villain). Several people have bugged that and recieved the message it was working as intended. Any chance that could get changed since you don't want PvP missions to go all the way to 50? Otherwise thats a badge added that level 50s can't get which would just suck.
