Badge Questions
Positron, I have word that the following gladiators are currently not in the game:
Arachnos Longfang
Arachnos Tech-Op
Are they bugged or were they just removed from the game entirely/not put in (like the Sorc gladiator)?

Hear Hear. Any possibility of resorting some of the badges into groups (i.e. putting the 200 collection badge with the others)

I would love to see badges given for damage dealt, like we do for damage taken or healed. Is there a reason this has not been done yet?
Edited to say: I also agree with the above poster. I would love to actually have sort options:Alpha, Zone, Type, etc. If that is not possible, I would love to see a better sorting put in.
Why do tsoo sorcerors and ancestor ghosts over 29 not count toward the kills for these badges? Isn't that counterintuitive for some ranges to count while others don't?
I think that's a bug, actually.

Actually, exploration badges are already sorted in alphabetical order by zone. Atlas Park (well, Abandoned Sewers before that) first and The Hive at the end. The only exceptions might be Multidimensional, Shrouded, and the Croatoa ones.

Seconded. Seems unfair to penalize players for not getting that zone's badge when they can't be expected to even know about the badge system at all.
An idea for a solution: Put higher level contamined thugs in the Terra Volta reactor areas. That way, people have to put forth some effort to get the badge (namely by doing the TV trial(s)), and it fits logically in the storyline (i.e., they're contaminated from exposure to the reactor radiation).
Yeah since it doesn't have a group label of the zone, its a pain to find first the zone, then the badge you are looking for. Would like something a little more user-friendly. Not game-breaking for me or anythign, just figured while we were asking.
Got a few I'd like to mention;
Illusionist...evil badge (required for Archmage). One of the toughest/most time consuming badges there are in the entire game.
Requires approximately 200 to 400 summoned illusionists (as well as dark servants, phantasms, and regular illusionists for a smaller amount). Given that almost no one has protection to psi damage that the Master Illusionists use, as well as the weakening of status protection of everyone. Can we make it a bit easier to recieve? Make summoned spawns count towards it more? Or make the Archmage Accolade more powerful?
Sewer Trial - Seeing as the experience has been weakened as well as all of our abilities, can we get the sewer trial made not quite so difficult? Or increase the rewards? There's not many people who want to do the trial for the badges with it being so hard nowadays.
Is there an ETA on fixing on Rocketman/Spider Smasher and Hercules Titan gladiator badges? Not a specific date, but as an example, before issue 7, issue 7, after issue 7?

I would like to second the request to reconsider the requirements for the influence badges. I posted a comment about this in the suggestions forum, but I'll make my argument here since this thread is specific to the topic. The requirements for those badges are pretty hefty to begin with, and now with a second type of currency (prestige) added to the game, the rate at which many people earn influence has changed. This is an understandable change to the system, but if many people are playing in SG mode, and therefore gaining less and less influence as they level, I think lowering the requirements for those badges may be in order. I hate to not play in SG mode and not gain prestige for our base, just so I can get a badge. I also know that at some point the two forms of currency will probably balance out, as influence stores are used to help SG members buy their enhancements while running in SG mode, and eventually the only prestige needed may be for rent, and people can start playing SG mode less, to start gaining new stores of influence, but it will be quite some time until the system reaches an equilibrium. I think you also have to realize that many people just start a new character once they reach 50, and with the current requirements it seems you would have to play your level 50 quite frequently to obtain these badges. Were these badges meant to be among the hardest to obtain or were there factors that didn't play out as suspected when their goals were set?
I guess a second alternative would be to create a new set of prestige badges. Then you would have SG oriented people gaining those badges, and maybe one of the influence badges, while people that have no SG affiliation would be gaining the influence badges, but never gain the prestige badges.
Secondly I would like to comment on the holiday/special event badges. I really like the fact that you guys have been giving badges for these. I think I remember the devs stating that there will be less focus on creating special content or events for the holidays, but I was glad you guys at least recycled some stuff you had already developed for past events and combined it with the presents this year. I was a little disappointed however that some of the badges that could be earned last year could also be obtained this year (for killing the snow beasts). While I understand that not everyone will be able to play during relatively short-lived special events, I like that you can tell who was around during those times simply by looking at their badges. You did give us some new and unique badges this year, and the winter lord badge was not obtainable this year, so those are cool points. I would just like to request that you keep one or two badges unique for each yearly event if you plan on continuing them.
EDIT: BTW, can you give us an official answer on exactly what you need for the "Illusionist" badge? I have heard some pretty heated debates over whether it is for the pets (phantasms/dark pet) or for the trio of illusionists that the bosses spawn. I've gotten this badge, but I'd like to officially put the debate to rest.
--BTW my friends and I agree that the trick-or-treat event for Halloween was the coolest special event you guys have done so far. The surprise ambushes when you got a trick were classic. I know it takes a lot of work to implement stuff like that for the short amount of time that they are used, but they are appreciated.

Oh, I know. I would love to see some organization or re-listing options.
I was just pointing that there's at least some semblance of organization on the CoH badge lists. Don't get me started about CoV though.

Why do Masks killed in the high level portal missions not count toward the badge?
When can we expect the arena badges from I4 to finally be activated in the game? Issue 7 perhaps?

I would like to see the badges reordered so that the 'epic' badges are with the others.
I would also very much like the opportunity to earn the Halloween badges and also the Frozen Fury badge for the Winter Lord.
I would like to see Epic ATs unlocked by having badges.
I would like to know if Bug Hunter will be awarded to those who participated in Beta.

To be specific, my tank had to fight the Kraken 4 times before he got the badge for defeating the Kraken. Part of this is bad luck, but much of it is due to the fact that what I add to a team, that is "Aggro control" I am effectively adding to any other team that is competing with me for the badge. Effectivelty, I am a liability to a team as a member because if there were a team with me and 7 blasters and another team of 8 blasters, the team with 8 blasters would be doing more damage and would still benefit from my "tanking" for them, because the Kraken's aggro would be focused on me.
So, please consider changing the system to have everyone on a team that does damage awarded the badge.

Kill Count badges (of which the Giant Monster badges are, just with a Kill Count of 1) require you/your team do 25% of the entity's HP in damage in order to get credit. So in theory 4 teams could all get credit (much more likely that 3 teams will get credit).
In your scenario of Tanker + 7 blasters vs. 8 blasters, I have to assume that both teams would get the badge, since both teams are going to contribute over 25% damage to the entity.

I wouldn't mind if all Holiday event badges (including the accolades) were put under a new "Event" tab.

I've killed well over 500 hellions and fires in Steel Canyon and still only have the first fire-fighting badge. Is this a bug or did I misunderstand the requirements for getting the others?

I'd like an opportunity for older characters (pre-badges) to be able to get the isolated badge. Even if it is just an event where the contaminated swarm atlas park, at least I would have the chance.

1) Because we can't datamine for these badges. Yes, it's a crappy reason, but if we introduce these badges NOW after almost 2 years, players will complain to high heaven that "Character X should have Badge Y," and there is no way to check.
2) Art. We'd need new art for the badges and the time window to get new, unplanned, badge art is "not anytime soon"

I'm not 100% sure how he is supposed to work, but on test I had earned and used both respecs and he gave me missions.

Why is the badge list so screwed up?
Well, it's not. At least to me.
You see each "Issue" has their own badge list (Ish 2 and 3 are combined, but 4 thru 7 all have their own list). Each list comes after the other one in the badge display order. Thats why newer badges appear towards the bottom of their combined lists.
Now why is City of Villains badges so so so screwed up? That's because CoV also repuposes at lot of Ish 2 through 5 stuff, and thus those badges are on earlier "lists".
Now I have been considering combineing all the lists into one huge, sorted, master list, but the very real possibility of breaking something BIG could come of that. Not something I look forward to doing anytime soon.
Poz could possibly add some limited sorting to the Badge window, but it would be SO limited, it would be almost useless to you (we can't sort by "when you got it" for example, since we dont track that).
