One of the obvious moves is the City of Manga/City of Manhwa to appeal to CoH growing Asian audience, through NCSoft Distribution.

In particular, such a game/expansion would probably feature a high tech Korean or Japanese themed city with lots of martial arts powers, lots of robots, and perhaps a few powersets that cater directly to the magical girl types.

[/ QUOTE ]

I see no problems with this.

dude...the animation times on all those magical girl powers are way too freakin' long...10-minute animation for your ultimate attack and it's interruptable?!

Okay. Here's one better. Actually thought about this before. CITY OF ORIGINS: a place where you can switch between your hero or villain character to a normal, every day, average Joe. All the C. Kentsvillians and P. Parkersons say hooray.

Work a real job.
Get married.
Have children.
Risk your identity being revealed.
Risk losing said family and careers.
Identity Emergency all over again.

On another note: Remember the comic Damage Control? Maybe a standalone surrounding this theme.

Make Mine Cryptic.

Yeah, but think about what kind of damage those things do, with a ten minute interrupt barely make it balanced. Plus the hammer appearing out of no where attack.

Paragon City is nice, but I wonder what the rest of the US looks like.

Other Cities I would like to see in the game:
Washington D.C.
New York, New York
Chicago, Illinois
Miami, Florida
Dallas, Texas
Los Angeles, California
Seattle, Washington
Vancouver, British Columbia

All of these would have Multiple Zones, trainers and stores like Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. Expansion Name? Cities of Heroes

Something else I'd like to see would be actual Suburban areas, Townhomes and Houses, Schools and etcetera... call it Suburban Heroes

Would one of the classes for Suburban Heroes be "Soccer Mom"?

I wish i could find the interview. But it was done shortly after COH launch. And he also said he had others. But that City of Spies he would like to do after COV. Good question about how would spies fit? Sounds cool to me. Imgaine the cool ATs they could do. (or might be already working on)

Trick Arrow/Super Reflexes
Assault Rifle/Dark Armor
Mind Control/Sonic Blast

The mind boggles!

City of Spies and Galaxy of Heroes was discussed waaaay back during Issue 1, he said he'd LIKE to do it but I really really doubt they have that planned for next. He also wanted to do some pulp stories as well.

One thing that most of this sort of idea would RELY on would be the skill system. Superspies don't kick down doors, they infiltrate parties and chat with the villain wittily, extracting the needed information with repartee before seducing the villain's daughter and then making a daring escape in the night.

Or something along those lines. *grin*

The point being that the spy's powersets would almost be secondary to their skillsets, and a magical superspy (divination magic!) would be somewhat different from a technology superspy (Q-branch!).

City of Film Noir Detectives.

Your graphics card would thank you.

I'd rather see new content for what we have. If another Expanshalone had to be released, it should be City of Mercenerys, which would allow you to work for both hero contacts and villian ones, and you would be hunted down according to who you favor.

But I'd much rather see more new power sets ( Scrapper Pistols, Brute Greatswords, Demon/Alein and Storm Master Minds, Devices Armor Stalkers, Electric Melee Tanks ), The Arch enemy system, the out of battle skill system, Modified missions for stalkers ( sneaking through air ducts instead of breaking down the door in bank missions.) Enemys that react to your affiliation. ( Why do I always get mobbed by gold brickers when talking to the golden roller?) and branching story lines ( For weather you pass or fail.)

And villianous Hazard zones. For the love of Recluse!

Anyone have any other ideas for the next City of … game? I’m thinking:

City of Porn

[/ QUOTE ]

I thought they released that as 'The Sims Online"

[/ QUOTE ]

Ever play SWG? There was a hella lot of "porn" going on in that game.

Mxo had that beat...the emotes were a little too good, and there were way too many people with nothing on. Alot of times in beta there were people trying to have emote orgies in the night clubs.

I'd love a City of Spies. I trust Statesman and the crew to do a really good job, but I'm not sure how they could create another group of archtypes that would have the Spy flavor and be self sufficent. I also just wouldn't want Spies to be anywhere close in power to Heroes. I know Crimson and Indigo are awesome, but I assumed the reason they send my hero on missions was that I would have a greater chance of coming back. I would like CoH to keep the focus on Heroes.

About a year ago when CoV was announced, someone on the boards jokingly said something about City of Monsters. I always thought that would have been cool; I alway picture it resembling the old arcade "Rampage" game.

I couldn't see them doing that as that would turn away alot of current players. I hate anime. And contrary to popular belief, alot of comic collectors and gamers hate anime. Anime is a niche genre in the US. Much more so that comics or gaming.

Galaxy of Heroes would be great.

I feel that a Spy component would diverge a little much from the base Super Hero concept. No matter how many time Nick Fury is in a comic.

I also despise Anime. It's just not my cup of tea. But, if they including giant transforming robots, I may have to think about it!

Isn't that the mysterious "skill system" Statesman hinted at and then pulled?

I think before there is a City of Anything, the Dev's has their hands full with CoH and CoV. IMO, CoV should have been delayed for at least a year so testing could have been done more extensively. As it stands now there are way too many bugs in the current game that need to be hammered out before any other expansion games come out.

Me? What do I think is next?

Hmmm. It isn't Spies quite yet...
