  1. o_O Where is Sonic Resonance on that list?

What about the hard to see visual effects of the Sonic powers? You can only see Sonic Barrier and Sonic Haven and Sonic Dispersion really well in missions with less light, like the sewers. And only if there aren't other more dominant shields on them, like the Fire Shields from Thermal Corruptors. The same is true for Disruption Field, which emits hazy rings at the feet of the person its anchored to. Nobody actually can tell what the little orange shield icons around the mobs are for, especially when you have someone with Dark Miasma also debuffing damage resistance. Heck, just the regular blasts of powers and AoE splash effects make it hard to tell there are little orange shield icons on all the mobs indicating damage resistance decrease. You also mentioned that they are going to work on Detention Field in the Force Field set, will Sonic Cage also be getting the same treatment? In all honesty it's even less noticable sometimes than Detention Field.

I know you said that the artists are booked solid, but is Sonic Resonance at least on the list? Preferrably at a high spot on the list?
  2. I've never understood the dev's arguements for Fly.

Safety is freedom from risk or danger. However, it is not the power that creates safety, it is the knowledge and skill of the player using the power. A person with Fly, flying at ground level, is not "safe". He will get pot shotted by every mob he comes across. It is the players knowledge that no mobs exist in the sky above that allows him his "safety". Therefore, safety is dependant upon knowledge and skill rather than the power itself. So a person who understands how Super Jump or Super Speed works can be just as "safe" as someone with Fly.

Vertical movement is the other advantage that Fly has. I have only come across vertical movement as a limitation once. When I was trying to get the Top Dog badge at Lv 14. That's it. As far as getting to my missions, getting to mobs, getting to exits, or getting to contacts, they have all existed at ground level.

The devs attempted to justify the use of verticle movement by creating zones where it is difficult to run or jump around in. What was the result? These zones are now rarely inhabited. Rather than increasing the value of fly, this mentality has decreased the desire to visit the zones in the first place.

Finally, the question of balance? This reasoning I never understood since the beginning. The travel powers were not suppose to have any combat value, that is why they added Supression in the first place, they didn't want them running during combat. So why bring balance into the equation at all? You do not level faster by taking Super Speed over Super Jump. The travel powers should be picked based upon flavor, does your character run fast or fly?

The second confusing thing about balance is the question, Why pick any other travel power if you have superior vertical movement and speed and safety? If you're going to look at it that technically, than you have to look at the power set as a whole. Increasing the speed of fly will not decrease the value of Hasten or Acrobatics or Teleport Friend. If you're going to try and use technical balance as part of your justification for things, than the power pools themselves have to be looked at in their entirety, and in my opinion Fly is the weakest total travel power pool out of them all.
  3. So, does this mean Sonic Cage is also an intangibility magnitude power?

I frequently find myself wishing I had Defiance on my Corruptor. She regularly gets beaten to around 20% health by the end of a fight, and her damage is, well, less than I'm used to. She's also Ice Blast / Cold Domination, which means no ability to self-heal like other Corruptors have.

Actually, I agree with you, mostly because I'm a /Sonic Corruptor. I specifically took Sonic Cage and Shockwave because I knew I wouldn't have any personal defense. I actually miss Power Thrust, Energy Torrent, Bonesmasher, Power Push, and Total Focus as far as crowd control goes and keeping mobs from laying the melee smack down on me. Couple that with the high burst damage from Aim and Build Up and my Blaster is suprisingly more survivable (as far as surviving in melee is concerned) than my Corruptor.

It's probably me just the going from a very solo-able Blaster to a team oriented Corruptor though.

Once again we see that subtlety is wasted on the simple-minded.

I will spend no more time on someone of your paltry intelligence quotient.

Mmmm...superiority complex...tastes good with a side of ego..

I was expecting on monday for this game to launch and we finally get some life back on these empty servers.. I know the bulk of the cov players were current coh players but what about all the returning people and the new comers? Shouldnt the servers be at least yellow? It is hard enough as it is to get on a team. Now I will be stuck soloing thru cov too?

    [/ QUOTE ]

They upgraded their servers a while back and changed the metrics. Things that use to make a server yellow back in the day are green by current standards.
