I rarely post here anymore so I literally logged in just to say that 800 points for a vanity pet regardless of what it does is utterly stupid.
Unless it tanks for you then it's not worth anywhere near the cost of a power set. Actually even then it's still not enough, should come with new costume pieces, new emotes, and maybe some new auras for that cost. I mean are you even trying anymore?
Please stop trying to milk loyal customers for cash. Those of us who have been with you from the beginning don't deserve to be treated like stupid cattle. -
Pfft, I'm looking at a reserved slot I saved with over 1000 days offline.
I've had much worse than that but since moved them to Victory after that server started to die and swapped my most played to Freedom.
I have two servers full of toons.
Altolholic for life. -
The Tarot aura could really use a glow around the cards themselves, maybe along the pattern on the cards, and a secondary color of our choice.
-
The Tarot aura needs it too and maybe a glow around the patterns on the cards. It looks a little bland when it could look so awesome.

Quote:Thank you for staying on topic, and I actually really like that idea. More content is always a good thing. How about adding a new building to some less-used zone like Brickstown (makes sense with Arachnos constantly raiding the Zig) where the Villain Patrons are plotting their takeover of Paragon City. Make it semi-hidden, where you need to be sent there by a contact before you can get in.
Have all of the Patrons there, with new arcs for hero-side, and completing them unlocks the patron pools. Certainly make them semi-villainous arcs in nature, but maybe more information-gathering than true mayhem and murder.
Or, heck, you could even make it some sort of haven for the Praetorian versions of the villain Patrons, with brand new arcs, giving out the same types of powers. -
I want a sorcery set so bad, but not that horrible set from Champions Online.
Sorcery does not bring to mind a weak buffer/debuffer who's forced to sit inside of a stupid circle.
Sorcerers are some of the most powerful people in fiction. The only beings above them are gods and demigods.
To be honest I'm not sure the breakdown of powers into ATs even allows for a true sorcery set in CoH, so I'd settle for some sparkly blasts to be paired with a defender/corruptor set. -
I think it's necessary to add a way for heroes to unlock villain epics hero side. Forcing us to take every single hero we have villain side if we prefer the villain epics is a little ridiculous, especially since villains do not have to do a thing for hero epics.
I don't like villains, at this point I only have two villains whom I'm in the process of converting to heroes. So the prospect of spending 2 days to convert my heroes to villains and another two taking them back to hero side is very unappealing.
Please consider adding an equivalent mission hero side without a faction change. -
Thank you thank you thank you for finally adding more "magical" auras!
My magic toons are officially in love, especially my pixies and fairies. -
Chance to stun becomes more reliable when you have it in all or most of your powers rather than just relying on one.
Of course that isn't something a min/maxer would do, but I did it on my elec blaster with decent results.
Given the jumping ability of elec control powers it might have even more interesting results. Though I have no idea if those jumps would count for procs or not. -
I have a 35 grav/ff I can't bring myself to play anymore. Grav is just too weak and broken compared to the other sets imo.
That said you have inspired me to finally go ahead and finish the last troller/dominator set on my list: Ice, it's the only thing I don't have.
I keep deleting my ice doms and trollers in the teens for some reason. Just gonna tough it out. -
Why does every thread on a defender/corruptor set have to turn into a childish flame war full of personal insults because someone said something less than positive about powers in a video game?

Quote:See, but the difference is you actually explained your point of view fully. The majority of these posts are just silly "It costs too much!" and "Lower it to $1!" which explained absolutely nothing at all. We're complaining because this sets a BAD PRECEDENT. They're taking content out of free issues (or taking devs away from working on those free issues) to create purchaseable packs which, until now have been worth the extra cash.
Time was, an issue would give us new systems, new missions, new costumes, new emotes, new powers, etc...
Last few issues have been a couple missions and that's about it. Most of the new costumes and emotes we've gotten have been from booster packs. Now they have a pack that's $1 per emote.
I hate slippery slope arguments on principle, but what's next? A one-emote pack for 5 bucks? A pack that charges $1 per costume item? The next issue being delayed several months and being extraordinarily shallow and empty because they're stripping as much out of it as possible to make more boosters?
Where does it end? And if they're gonna start over-charging us for everything we used to get for free, can we at least go free-2-play so i can spend my sub money on the extras?
Use the paypal option, it wasn't accepting my card either. Paypal worked instantly. -

Do you guys walk into a store, inspect an item, and then go complain to the floor manager that the price for the mug you want is too high?
No?
Then why do it here?
This is silly. If you don't want it then don't buy it. -
The old array of colors we had to choose from originally would be nice.
Removing every single flesh toned color from the game ruined costumes for a lot of us just because there were Ken and Barbie nudists running around.
If there can be bondage items added to the costume generator and straps/shreds that leave little to the imagination then I don't see why flesh tone colors would hurt the game at all.
Please put them back. -
Quote:Same could be said of knights and round tables or any other stories of grandeur that logically make no sense.Sure they are. I saw that episode of Mythbusters.
*flashback to fuedal Japan, early morning*
Maid: "The Master is dead! What happened?"
Guard1: "Um, this guy just jumped over the castle wall, blinded me with stuff, then slit the Master's throat, jumped over the wall againk, ran across the lake and turned into a tree! He was a ninja"
Guard2: "Yeah, that's what happened." *wipes dagger clean* "Magic masked man with super powers."
I do get a kick out of people thinking creatures like dragons(non-fire breathing of course) of and giant octopus are myths, but all of these mighty warriors with super human abilities are added to history books though.
We do know giant lizards and giant animals in general ruled the earth and sea for thousands of years. We don't really have a shred of proof that there are very many super humans besides monks and a random genetic freak or two(I saw a guy who can withstand way more electrical voltage than a normal human, not sure how that's useful, but he basically let a ton of electricity run through him on camera and didn't fry). -
I was on the last mission of Posi when it went down. Luckily Posi isn't mind-numbingly long anymore or I'd be upset.

Plant
Elec
Earth
Ice
Not sure why Mind ranks so high on so many lists, it's not that great at soloing on a dom until 32 and even then it's still beaten by other sets. You can solo with anything, but best? I don't think so. It needs too much recharge to be top tier and other sets are top tier right out of the box.
Fire can be unsafe even on a troller so a dom is going to have it pretty rough if any mistakes are made farming solo.
Grav is just horrible. I'm sorry, it is. I know some people love it but it's a very broken set imo and under performs compared to every other control set in the game. Stay far far away if you value your sanity, unless you have some sort of concept you just have to try. -
Quote:Hadn't thought about that, ice may be weaker, but it's still comparing two clawless kittens unable to escape wet paper bags either way.The main reason I compared it to Spooky over EQ was that EQ foes can sometimes, on their own, stand up and take a shot at you. That does not seem to be true with Spooky or Static Field.
I suspect that Ice has lower damage. Earth is probably pretty comparable.
Comparing damage in the Elec vs. Ice sets: Single target Immob, single target hold, AoE Immob, AoE Hold are all the same. PB AoE aura does no damage in either set, but Arctic Air does confuse, adding some minimal damage. Control patch (Ice Slick vs Static Field), no damage. Elec has the ranged chaining confuse vs Ice's ranged Slow cone (assume the confuses cancel each other out, but I'm pretty sure that Elec's confuse will result in more damage). Then you have Jolting Chain (some damage) vs. Flash Freeze (does some damage, but nobody takes it), so Elec wins here. Finally, I think the two Gremlins do more damage than Jack Frost.
You can still be hit with SF up though, I've been on the receiving end of some angry boss punches, and random minion/lieut shots while SF was active.
I think my other post got lost in the fact that nerf herders are already screaming "NERF IT" and I'd hate to see this set get nerfed because a set that offers a ton of damage can't lock down as well as a set that doesn't. -
I get the feeling the OP is tip-toeing on saying the power is too powerful and I'm just going to nip that in the bud right now.
The power is more like Earthquake than ST and Earthquake is very good at what it does.
The set is very much like Earth Control in that it's a low damage set that is very good at locking mobs down. It's probably the first set I've actually bothered locking down mobs rather than trying to do damage post-ED.
The power is fine, the set is fine. It's powerful controls are balanced by the fact that the set does almost no damage by itself.
I already ran into one person claiming the set was OP right out the gate and going on and on about an incoming nerf as if there aren't other sets capable of locking everything down. Now I don't know if the OP was going there, but it sure feels like it, so I say play the toon solo, and see if you think it's too powerful.
I haven't really compared numbers or anything but I'm fairly certain this set has the lowest damage of any controller set in the game. -
Psi-melee should be localized kinetic energy used at melee range...and that's basically what we were just given.
As far as the damage type just explain it away and move on. True kinetic energy is simply anything in motion. Throwing a bucket of water is using kinetic energy.
So just pretend it's doing whatever damage type you want. Honestly I don't even think about the damage type I'm using unless I'm fighting something extremely resistant to it. -
I prefer the new electric sounds to the old ones. The new ones sound like actual electricity. The old ones do not.
Real electricity makes a soft zzzzttt or a flat out loud crack sound. It doesn't do that weird thunder thing the old electricity sounds like.
Heat lightning doesn't even make noise, it's silent. So aside from zzzttt and that loud crack I don't see why it should make ridiculously loud noises. -
Wow thanks, I totally had that backwards.
-
Quote:True, but I was going to make a new toon while I mull over it.Well, you can't really blame that on the game then
The side switching system, is ready and waiting for you - it's not the fault of the game that you can't decide which avatar to use with it first
Luckily I discovered I can still use my slots on Virtue, I guess since I never upgraded the number of slots there. So it's not so bad now.
I also get to be a dom without being a villain so I'm pretty happy.
But um are Loyalists heroes or Resistance? So confusing.
