Ninjas not quite so cool
There has so far been no comment on any of the changes that happened when Demon Summoning was introduced. I don't believe it is wai but it is probably the case that they can't fix it without ruining all the work they did on ds. The only fix they made so far was the "immediately close to melee" bug.
Once set of mythical creatures broke the other?

Maid: "The Master is dead! What happened?"
Guard1: "Um, this guy just jumped over the castle wall, blinded me with stuff, then slit the Master's throat, jumped over the wall againk, ran across the lake and turned into a tree! He was a ninja"
Guard2: "Yeah, that's what happened." *wipes dagger clean* "Magic masked man with super powers."

Mobs that never used to run into melee like Carnie attendants and jugglers will now run into melee, after throwing a couple of ranged attacks.
So far as the Ninja falling over dead, rather than vanishing back into the shadows, I've noticed that myself, even though I don't have a Ninja MM. I suspect it's pretty low on the priority list though, along with a lot of other minor glitches, like all my robots undergoing the upgrade animation whenever I resummon a Forcefield Generator.
Bug report it and try not to pay much attention to it is about all you can do.

when the demons die, isn't it the same animation as getting dismissed for them? Maybe someone mistakenly hit the "apply to all" button? lol
It's that most annoying bug that actually got me to give Ninja's a try.
I'd avoided them for years based off the general feeling that they were reckless and squishy.
The day before I heard about GR I'd rolled up a Bot/Storm and fell instantly in love. But...
I shelved him, in order to wait and create him as a Praetorian Hero. This was to be my Blueside Soloist.
GR launched and I went to my saved costumes, recreated him as Prototype Protector and was off!! I was so excited to finally get around
to the Bot's...
Then the little bugger stormed right into melee, instead of standing beside me and blasting away. Must be a fluke I thought and kept playing.
Shortly after level 7 I just got fed up. My Drones would take a pot shot and then rush into melee and try to brawl the target to death.
This was not the way they were acting months ago. So I came here and read about the bug. Discouraged I decided to roll up a throwaway toon.
Figuring the bug might make Ninja's more playable, in a round about way, I created Spectral Samurai just to toy around Nova and see what Thermal was like.
He hit 20 before I knew what happened!! Now he's blueside working the cape mission.
My fear here is. When they eventually fix this bug I'm worried it will invalidate the way I've learned to play the Nin/Therm.
But, then again, I'll just turn Prototype back on if it does.

wouldn't that just be the way eh? The ninjas get turned into throwing-star masters that stay out of melee.
The ninja should get the first part of the Ninja Leap costume change animation -- jump straight up and disappear.

Ninja should get the reverse of the Fir Bolg "hide". When you unsummon them, they turn into trees. Yes, even in a ship's hold.
Yes, I was heart broken the first time I dismissed my Nins after I17, and they just fell over dead. Where is the "poof" vanish act?
No one pays attention to me, cause I listen to the voices in my head.
Actually even funnier would be if they do the whole "Placate" thing.

I'm actually with Maestro here--I deleted my old ninja MM after I would give them goto->attack commends into melee only to have them run up to the enemy's face... and shoot poison darts at them from a range of 2 feet. (Well, okay, having one of them run 300 yards away after getting hit by a Scrapyarder fire bomb, while I was spamming orders for it to go passive and return, didn't hurt.) Now that they sound like they'll actually melee, I might need to reroll.
It's still annoying as hell on my low-level Bots/ MM, though. Apparently 'stay' means 'sit here unless you feel like boxing today.'

Mercenaries keel over dead on dismissal too.
It is rather annoying and I hope they fix it soon, but at least it isn't game-breaking.
These little bugs really irritate me. Especially the "charge into melee" bug. I remember a time when ranged henchmen would stand by their master and shoot without closing the distance. It was one of the cool things about them.

Othertime, they fall over dead from my sheer evilness.
In the Arena of Logic, I fight unarmed.
Sure they are. I saw that episode of Mythbusters.

I do get a kick out of people thinking creatures like dragons(non-fire breathing of course) of and giant octopus are myths, but all of these mighty warriors with super human abilities are added to history books though.
We do know giant lizards and giant animals in general ruled the earth and sea for thousands of years. We don't really have a shred of proof that there are very many super humans besides monks and a random genetic freak or two(I saw a guy who can withstand way more electrical voltage than a normal human, not sure how that's useful, but he basically let a ton of electricity run through him on camera and didn't fry).

Am I the only one that likes this bug? When I tell my ninjas "no witnesses" they take me very seriously!
Ok...I have come to like my ninjas/TA mastermind Serpent-Shade quite a bit. He's 27 now and right around the time that issue 17 came out I noticed a disturbing thing. My ninjas no longer vanish!
This ticks me off no end. Demon MMs get that cool 'return to the abyss' animation. Robots get the 'rocket boost exit'. But now ninjas just drop dead when dismissed!
It's kind of a let down to see my ninjas saying cool things like: 'Back to the shadows!' or 'Without a trace!' and then watch them all keel over and die like they drank too much sake. What happened to the smoke bomb?
Will this be fixed? Or is this an intentional change? Because it's the sort of thing that makes me want to play my ninja MM a bit less.
