I could go on and on, but I won't. If this goes through, its will be awesome. Heck, if 90% of the new costume options go through, it would still be awesome.

And for the record, I could live without the monstrous heads... but definately keep the creepy reptile/cat/insect/etc. options, okay?

And how about cigars (and the "demonic" face) for the girls while we're at it?

COH players have been asking for fishnets and motorcycle jackets and pirate options since COH beta. That a year and a half later these options would be added for villains only is like a slap in the face.

Bob: Welcome to another episode of "Stretch My Simile"! Today, we find out if having some costume options be exclusive to CoV really is like a slap in the face. Are you ready Judy?

Judy: Uh... I'm not su-

*SLAP*

Judy: OW!

Bob: Well, Judy, which was worse? Not having fishnets on your hero or getting slapped in the face?

Judy: I'm not- I don't know-

Bob: Well, let's try that again

*SLAP*

Judy: OW!

Bob: Now, Judy, what do you-

Judy: You abusive jerk! I'm outta here! And I'm taking the children! *runs off*

Bob: Well, that's it for another episode of "Stretch My Simile"! Our conclusion today: Women are ungrateful wenches!

Sorry folks but I want people to see my villain running down the street and say "Oh crap! A villain!"

I already think that the devil's horns (which I used I may add cause I wanted to be a villain) in the hero creator is far too "Villainy". I know that Hellboy, Dare Devil, and numerous other horny heroes exist in comics but how much more fun would CoV be if all heroes had been "Superman" goodie goodies and City of Villains was the only way to be a nasty dirty evil looking monster. The Devs paint this universe so to argue "Marvel and DC do it!" is illogical.

So many CoV complains revolve around "Why by CoV, when it is no different that CoH?" or "I don't feel like a villain". It seems to me the Devs are only making it worse on themselves by carrying over all the content. Bottom line is if to this point heroes all looked like the Superman, Shazzam and the Flash a lot more people would feel “Villainous” when playing CoV with big ol’ devil horns and monstorous legs. Devs! Please make CoV it’s own by not blurring the line between CoH and CoV!

The biggest problem with CoV is that I allready played a villain in CoH. Does anyone else feel the same? I think the Devs need to up the anty... I think they need to trump the CoH villains with a newer badder CoV villain.

What can we do to take this from most likely to definite? I've been wanting a good biker jacket since I joined the game, and a lot of the other CoV options would be great, too.

That's fairly uncalled for. People who don't support this are allowed to voice their opinions as well.

[/ QUOTE ]

Fair enough. I thought it was obvious that even my so called "real answer" was still pretty silly. I just can't wrap my brain around why people would ever want less options.

Real answer: What?! No way, that would be totally irresponsible. The clinically insane should not be allowed to access the internet, they might escape by uploading their minds to the servers, and then where would we be? THE MATRIX! That's right!

Real real answer: Notice how my real answer doesn't make any sense? That's how you tell if it's meant in jest.

Wait, you want your Hero to look like a 60 mile long interdimensional space ship?! I don't think the extra options are going to help you. Did you mean to say The Doctor?

My 2 cents? More options are good, but it's also nice to be able to tell the good from the bad at a glance. Yes, there are "evil looking" heroes in the literature, but if you open the floodgates, you might as well change the name of the game to City of Skull-Headed Demons (Be They Heroes OR Villains).

Incidently, I think you could do all of The Authority under the current CoH costume options.

Damn, now I want a character that looks like the Carrier.

Maybe that's what the giant dog guy in Mercy island was trying to achieve the other night? After all, the carrier sometimes gets described as looking a bit like a dog's nose.

Lame, heroes should look different than villains.

[/ QUOTE ]

Except that Villains already get the same costume pieces as heroes and then some. And there are some real heroic looking villains running around right now. So they can't use that argument.

And, besides, haven't you heard, you can't judge a book by it's cover? And isn't that part of the premise of characters such as Wolverine and Hulk and other heroes that the populace is scared of on sight?

You got me there; Swift is currently impossible, but if they add the Avilan Epic AT then you could do it. And note you would not need CoV options... her oufits are pretty simple.

They would have to see you wearing what you picked out. The reason is that if you don't own CoV you still HAVE to see the villains dressed normally. Therefore you will have to download all the CoV graphics even if you don't own it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually I6 adds all of the graphic options. Remember you need to be able to actually see the villains in the PvP zones so the costume options have to be added to COH anyway.

The limitation is likely coding the character creator to allow those with both full access to the costume options. And yes I am drooling at the thought of redesigning some of my hero's with the villain art.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agree. To me, it feels like they're just taking a feature of CoV away. They've been saying for some time that villains would look different, and some of us were looking forward to that. I'd be willing to bet that "feature" is on the box, but now it no longer applies.

I'm not against some of the options coming over, but everything shouldn't either. Why does it have to be all or nothing? Instead of having 1/3 options in common like they originally intended, why not make it 2/3 or 4/5? Why go from one extreme to the other when a compromise would be a lot easier and satisfy both crowds?

If villains powers are the same as heroes, and villains now look the same as heroes, how different are they really?

I think they should give some of the options from CoV, but they should also focus on creating some new options for CoH. Like I said in another post, aside from the anime options we got a few issues back (and the witches hat and maple leaf), CoH hasn't gotten much new since release. The solution for this shouldn't be taking away CoV's unique costume options. CoV and CoH should be more distinct from each other like they originally intended.

afterall, they want good/evil to obvious on sight (cause that always works in the movies) in the PvP zones.

Yeah , and in CoV , villains also goes against villains , so youd better use something else than how they look to see if they are hostile lol

I thought they changed Bloody Bay from a FFA to hero vs. villain only leaving Warburg as the only FFA zone?

In the PvP zones, all player controlled enemies are orange con.

I very much like that solution, but I worry it will only be a matter of time before I see a shambling, decaying hero named something like "teh Br@inin@tor" or some such. Some of the CoV options are a tough fit for heroes.

All I'd really like to see is the fishnets, frankly. Maybe some of the monsterous, but made more heroic looking. It would be great if the Heroes' outfits had a revamp, since I wound up wanting to play my villains more because of the costumes than because they are evil... Seriously.

Heroes look rather.. plain compared to the villains and that's after trying it out on the Beta server!
