Just popping by to say I love you guys for this project. =) Thank you and keep it up.

So right now I have a Mainframe, I've unlocked my supercomputer but haven't had the time/chance to lay out the new plot with the larger room (currently control is in the middle so will be a big deal to re-arrange).
Anyway, I'm looking at the options for Aux items as I expand and it looks like the mega monitor is way more energy efficient than advanced databases. Other than defensive items is there a need to go with the advanced databases?
I'm already a touch over the control capacity on my Mainframe due to taking up two slots with a pillar of ice and flame and a mission computer. So I had to ditch a few amenities I wanted to lay in. Hence the upgrade. =) -
Worth revisiting this topic to consider i17 EXP Compliance as a tag?

Quote:Again, only true of unmemorized commons. A level 24 Acc/Dam/Rech Focused Smite costs 37k to craft and three salvage that can all be bought reliably for 100-500 inf. A level 25 Accuracy SO costs 29.9k. A level 25 Common Accuracy IO requires a luckcharm so that one is clearly going to be way too expensive unless you luck out and someone is selling them crafted for below cost (which happens: I bought two for 15k each a few months back).I do use IOs when possible, but I wouldn't say they're cheaper (They aren't.. sort of. At least not in the immediate short term.) Between the recipe and crafting cost, they're roughly twice the cost of a +3 SO.
Quote:And IOs don't surpass +3 SOs until Level 40 (Although I guess you could argue 30 or 35 are "close enough.")
Quote:For my main who seems to have enough money to do anything except go hog wild at the black market, the cost isn't too much of an issue. For my lower level characters which don't seem to have inherited anything from Uncle Pennybags though (I don't even remember how my main got all that money), IOs are prohibitively expensive if you factor in the recipe cost.
One trick to watch for is that crafting costs ramp up up up, the drop when they cross a threshold and change ingredients. So the under 25 recipes like Bonesnap the 25 IO costs 76k to craft. But the 25+ ones or the 20-30 ones the level 25 (or 26) only costs 36k to craft.
Plus, people often post them on the market for less than the crafting cost. Leave a lowball bid up and see what happens. I sold 4 level 50 Def Buff common IOs for 5k each last weekend. Put them up for 1 apiece. I'm not the only one doing it either. Field crafters often don't care much what we make back, just need to clear our inventory so we can craft the next batch. =)
And I'll stop now. =) -
Target one point at the second with your mouse. Might be another way but I know that works.

Quote:That's a very sensible way to go about it if you have the respecs. However at level 25 SOs are only better than common IOs.Absolute rubbish. Back when I was poor but had effectively unlimited respecs (more than I ever use as a 69 month vet) I would get SOs at 22 which are better than 25 IOs, and then respec at 27, get full sale price for the IOs slotted, and with the profit on the 10 in the tray purchased for peanuts from WWs, actually make a profit on upgrading from 25 to 30 SOs.
It can be sensible to use SOs of level 25/30 and possibly even 35 if you intend to move on to set IOs in the mid to late 30s and have the respecs spare.
A level 24 Acc/Dam gives 38.4% total bonus, and a +3 SO gives 38.33% but it will drop as you level. A level 20 Acc/Dam/Rech also gives 38.4% total and you can slot that baby at level 17.
Assume you have three slots for an attack, you for certain want an accuracy and a damage, the third varies end for some, recharge, or a second acc or damage.
At level 22 using level 25 SOs you can have:
38.3% Acc, 38.3% Dam, 38.3% Recharge
Or you can slot:
Pulverizing Fisticuffs Acc/Dam/Rech, Focused Smite Acc/Dam/Rech, Acc/Dam
for: 52% Acc, 52% Dam, 32% Rech at level 22
When you reach level 22 those SOs are giving you:
33.3%/33.3%/33.3%
the IOs are still 52%/52%/32%
The PF costs 74k to craft and maybe 10k in salvage. The FS cost 36k to craft and maybe 2k in salvage.
Level 25 SOs cost 29.9k with some variety per style and store.
You replace those SOs even once from a store and you're over the price of the sets.
BUT, if you burn a respec and recoup all the cost and then slot sets, that is a good way to go. Probably a great idea for EATS as khelds very commonly want to respec and soldiers have no choice in the matter. -
I like just the one IO and liberal use of the buff for missions where I know it will come up.

Quote:This is a personal crusade of mine.Heh, it's hard to go wrong with IOs. At level 35, I think, they become better than +3 SOs, especially when you start talking multi-aspect ones. That's before you start talking set bonuses!
What I'm saying is: stick stuff in and you don't even need to cross your fingers. It's still better than SOs.
level 35 common IOs are essentially identical to +3 SOs
level 24 dual IOs are minusculely better than +3 SOs
level 20 triple IOs are minusculely better than +3 SOs
There is a spectacular table on the wiki.
I figure the more people know how good low-level sets are the more of a market for them there will be.
Another thing to keep in mind. When you exemplar your enhancement bonus gets reduced. So if you have 3 damage IOs in an attack for 99% damage, when you drop to level 15 to do a Posi you only get to keep about 39% of that.
However, there is a funky rule where small bonuses don't get reduced. So double and triple and quads give full effect. Now, on a Posi run it would be almost impossible to keep high-level bonuses. But you can get great bonuses down to level 21 as long as no individual bonus is higher than 20%.
so the level 50 quads give 18.6% to each of four stats and that is immune to exemplaring down to level 21. A level 43 triple gives 19.9%. A level 24 dual gives 19.2% to both.
Since any dual level 24 or above is already better than a +3 SO and any triple level 20 or above is also better than a +3 SO, if you use level 24-43 sets you can function with your set bonus and with most or all of you total enhancement both.
This is where non-purples have an advantage. Since purples only come in larger than 20% flavor, they are always chopped when you exemp down. On the other hand you always get the set bonus, so there is that at least. -
Actually, health gives a few options. #1 the unique IOs regenerative tissue and numina's both can stack with it. #2 There is a good chance that whatever you put in your defenses will give at least a little regen, and 3 if you have any purples you'll have some regen.
As a defense set, once you softcap the only way to get better survivability is with resistance and healing. Regeneration fits that role nicely. And even before the softcap it is very helpful.
Plus, on a purely subjective level, it's less downtime while levelling. I've seen builds where people built for regen and pickup up as much as 30-35 hp/sec. That is very significant on any character. -
It can be. The current record for simultaneous solo-d Dev created AV's with no temps or insps is 9 held by a DM/Inv scrapper.
I don't think I'd try for 10 on a stalker due to the lower hit points. But the stalker version of DM can put out substantial damage and certainly enough to take down an AV. Your biggest issue will be that we lost out on DM's endurance recovery power. That will make your build a little tricky for AVs since you'll need to be self-sustaining on endurance while also building defenses from near zero (regen's only protection is hide). -
Quote:How much do you team and how much do you solo? What difficulty settings?Okay, I'm trying to work in a little extra survivability with my PB to give me the chance to hit that heal one more time and stay up in a tough fight. I managed to get 18% S/L and 16% Melee.
I'm appending my build for yall to review, but my big question is: is 16%/18% worth it? Will I even notice it? I tend to play builds that have either no defense or capped defense, so I'm not too sure about something in between.
Also, with middle-of the road defenses, be really wary of romans and others who debuff defense easily. They will strip you of your protection super fast and often do enough that only one or two purples won't help. -
I tend to think of slows as controls rather than debuffs. Not lockdowns like a hold or full mez, but in the same field as immobilizes.
-
Quote:Did you check first? Because the crystal is right in the hospital I'm not sure which of the two you're getting credit for.Was not aware of the bug but got my character stuck Monday night; after couple minutes of trying to get loose I just log. Going for the day badge anyway.
And I've only been able to get out with self-destruct. So far I guess I can't find the "correct angle" when wiggling and jumping. -
Quote:Protean is a serious pain for many people. His autohit self-heal-to-full power on a surprisingly fast timer is not something everyone is equipped to handle solo. And I mean that skill-wise as much as I mean it with regard to character abilities (think stone tanks trying to run away).Honestly, I'm just confused by the content not meant to be soloed comment. I mean, getting the 'army of one' badge solo can be a bit tough (Thank goodness my stalker was already 50 ... so many defeats) but the hero arcs weren't that bad I didn't think.
Of course I've never really had that much of a problem with the PvE on my energy/dev either so that's a factor I suppose. -
Well, what is your long-term plan for the character? Will you run taskforces? Will you use oroboros? Will you team with friends and do their low-level arcs?
Because if you do any of these, you will want lower than level 50 sets. -
Well, I dunno what changed but after being irregular for a bit it seems to be resolved and not showing up anymore.
That was a weird one. -
Also, you really want the +HP accolades. I was very surprised how much of a difference they made on my regen.

Quote:I have the same feeling about this statement as defenders do about people telling them blasts are in their secondary for a reason, stop the pew pew and act like a buff bot.If my pet is damaged to with 10% of its hitpoints, I certainly CANNOT rely on the backup heal of Dark Servant to go off when I want it to. I better have a plan to heal the pet myself, debuff the spawn or prepare to resummon it.
Dark Servant's primary function is tohit debuff.
the truth is that Fluffy does heal A LOT. Healing may not be his primary function, but it is that which he is best at. His heals are huge, have a wide radius and they are fairly regular. No, it's not a button you can click, but you can rely on it most of the time. the harder thing is keeping the idiots in range of him.
Yes, once the pet gets down to 10%, you need to step in, but when it's at 50? Don't worry, let fluffy go off while you do your thing elsewhere to reduce incoming damage. -
Quote:Isn't it unique anyway?Yeah, check your real numbers. Winter's Gift should be on all the time once you slot it in to one of your travel powers. I find Performance Shifter to be a nice enhancement, but I usually want to save my slots for other things... I don't think I want to slot it more than once just to have it at all times... my khelds are all desperate for their slots.

Quote:The biggest reason DM.Regen would focus on small mobs is the lack of AoE to kill them efficiently. DM is spectacular single-target damage, but it is not ideal for farming. With a debuff and self-heal combined with low resisted damage type it is one of the best primaries for hard targets.Ah, but you misunderstand me :P I have decided for DM/Regen, and am going to build a character with it soon. I was just curious as to whether the ability of AV-killing would be able of adding to the character's CV
I do not intend to make a stalker that can solo AV's, I just realised that DM/Regen might be more focusedd on small mobs than larger mobs, which made me wonder if it would even be possible to solo AV's with that set combo
-
dear god that's hard to read.
On buildup you're really not getting anything significant from your slotting, why not run two rectified reticle and one full recharge?
Also, gloom is one of the best attacks you will ever get access to, hard to skip in my opinion. You always end up hitting a boss. Might as well make him go down faster. But thematically, I do like the lec/lec/lec. -
Quote:You don't want pokemon online. I think this is probably about right instead. My mistake, I'll go shoot myself in the head now.
edit: How do I delete my forum account and where's the door to Pokemon Online? -
Depends on who you're up against also. Malta, Knives, Vanguard Renegades, Cimeroran Traitors all are a bit more difficult than say Council or Freaks. I definitely noticed when I got over 25% going up against those groups even at 0/xAnything.
