Ice Blast has two Hold powers, Freeze Ray and Bitter Freeze Ray, both of which are mag 3 Holds. You could either hit a Boss with those two powers one right after the other, or if you only have one of those, you can stack the Hold magnitude by firing the same power repeatedly when it recharges. Then you can attack freely between using your Hold powers.
Ice Manipulation has a third Hold power as well, Freezing Touch. You also have access to a mag 3 Immobilize power with Chilblain along with -recharge in Shiver and knockdown in Ice Patch.
Boss encounters should be trivially easy for an Ice/Ice blaster to deal with.
There are also inspirations. Their purpose is to help players overcome challenging situations. There are few things that can't be overcome by popping a few inspirations.
Rather than give up and say something is beyond your skill level to deal with, wouldn't it be better to raise your skill level so you can deal with those challenging situations?

Stacking holds with an Ice/Ice blaster should make any boss a walk in the park. My 50 Ice/Ice hasn't even seen half of the attacks in the game due to bosses only ever getting one shot off at me.
To the OP - sorry you had trouble with the mission.

OP, your sig indicates you as playing on Virtue primarily, yes? I'm on Virtue as well and recently flashbacked the two arcs on my Defender. I'd be happy to join you--a Blaster and a Defender should be unstoppable in that arc. You don't by chance have your difficulty significantly increased, do you?

You can also set your difficulty options to No Bosses while soloing, which will knock the bosses down to lts, and make things a lot easier.

However, this being a game I don't feel I'm obligated to do anything, and am more than marginally annoyed that you'd presume to chastise me for not working harder to Play part of the game when I'd really rather not PLAY that particular part of the FRIGGING GAME right now.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I was completely and utterly clueless as to what to do, and where this question went.
My problem is this.
I went to do the new Dark Mirror story arc. Now, since I was already level 37 at this point, I had to do the Flashback story arc.
And I mostly play Solo with this toon.
Now, the problem is this: Now, having accepted the Flashback mission, I've been exemp'd down to level 29... and I can't do anything else until I finish the mission

Only I can't abandon it, for reasons that bewilder me.
So now I can't do this mission, and the game won't let me do anything else BUT the mission, and I can't DROP the mission.
How do I get rid of this infernal thing and get on with my game?
