Acrobatics
There are two pretty cheap IOs that will get you -4 on that KB. [edit: deleted wrong crap here.] One is def and the other is resist.
I slot the def in Obsidian Shield. Seems normal to put it there since that's where it's lacking.
I couldn't take Acrobatics. Seems very inefficient. I might be wrong.
Acrobatics will be plenty in normal PvE play. It is a 9 or 10 KB protection while the IOs are generally 4s and I rarely get knocked around with just 1 IO in a build so with Acro being more than 2 IOs in effect you will be fine.
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
There are two pretty cheap IOs that will get you -4 on that KB. They're unique, but you can slot one of each if you're really concerned. One is def and the other is resist.

No they are not unique. any of them.
I don't think I'd bring Acrobatics into a Dark Armor set, since it's an already endurance-heavy set, and Acrobatics is one of the higher end/sec toggles.

In my original build I had 9 toggles (including acro), but with franken-slotting I never really had any endurance problems. I know I could use -KB IOs, but slots are hard to come by on my build. Maybe I'm just not being smart about it, I don't know? I don't have gobs of inf, and most of these are enhancements that I already have on this and a couple of other deletable characters.
Here's my (proposed) build if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

Besides using no endurance, the other major benefit is that you'll get KB protection when exemplaring at level 25 and above (and possibly lower depending on the level of the IO you get), and not just at level 44+ if you take Acrobatics at 49.
I've found that KB 4 protection works 95% of the time, KB 8 works 98% of the time and KB 12 works 99.9% of the time.
These IOs can be usually had for between 5 and 10 million if you're patient. You can also run AE missions and buy Bronze rolls in the 30-34 range. I've got many Karma and Steadfast: -KB recipes that way, plus many other goodies.
I like just the one IO and liberal use of the buff for missions where I know it will come up.

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
On my dark/dark tank I found 1 IO in one of my shields made a huge difference (and used the empowerment like Gavin vs some foes). I eventually put 2 more in Combat Jumping and another shield so I could do Hami raids. The only thing knocking me down now are npc energy blasters and even that is pretty rare.
I couldn't imagine trying to run Acrobatics on her... the endurance drain is bad enough as it is.
I don't think I'd bring Acrobatics into a Dark Armor set, since it's an already endurance-heavy set, and Acrobatics is one of the higher end/sec toggles.

That said, I think one or two KB protection IOs are the way to go, and any Dark Armor character should have plenty of places to put them.

I take Acrobatics for the Hold protection & resist(for the AT's that cannot get it in their own powersets). The KB protection is a bonus.
The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister.

Kinrad, for one thing, I'm surprised you didn't take Shadow Maul, it's one of Dark's signature attacks and one of the set's only multi-target attacks.
As for where you could put -KB IOs, I can see a number of possibilities:
1) Drop the sixth slot from Cloak of Fear--that 3% Psi resist bonus add very little to your survivability--and move it to one of your resist toggles. In general, you might be better off not worrying about bonuses and frankenslotting CoFfor accuracy and endurance reduction; it's currently rather underslotted for end reduction.
2) Swap out the Red Fortunes in CoD for 4 slots of Gift of the Ancients--the GotA 4-slot bonuses are quite useful--and put a Karma -KB in the fifth slot.
3) Drop the Damage/Recharge from Death Shroud and put the slot in a resist toggle. (The loss of damage per tick will be very small.)
4) Drop the Res/End/Rchg from Ob Shield and slot a Steadfast -KB in its place. Then move the Steadfast +Def (and its slot) from DE. You'll lose a little Psi resist and the +End bonus, but gain a small recovery bonus from the two Steadfast.
5) Pick something to replace Acro that can be single-slotted, and voila! an extra slot.
You might also want to post in the scrapper section for future suggestions.

On my namesake character (Broadsword/Dark Armor Scrapper), I fill the knockback protection hole with a Karma -KB IO in Parry. That seems to take care of most sources of knockback for me.

Hey y'all. I have a dark/dark scrapper sitting at level 50 I haven't played in a long time. I was playing with his build in MIDs, and wondering if Acrobatics will provide enough knock back protection for most PvE content?
I don't PVP, and I don't care if I get knocked down a little here and there. Slots are tight, and I like the idea of using Acrobatics if it I can.
Any insight is greatly appreciated, thanks!
