My ghost-type character is a Dark/Psy Defender. Shadow Fall will help you with the stealth component without dipping into a pool, as well.

Have you considered a PB/WS? Human form with the right costume and a stealth IO in Combat Flight could work with a PB and would free up a pool. If the powers are too bright and happy go with WS and take hover, they get a recall friend clone that also frees up a pool for you... The WS also has some powers that could fit conceptually with a sort of life sucking ghostly type.

I suppose Dark Armor is out of the question, considering how its stealth also replaces your character's costume with Fluffy the Dark Servant.

Isnt cloak of darkness perfect for a ghost concept? color white?
That was my first guess.
Claws/dark armor.
I always think of ghosts as wispy smokey things. obscure to the sight. Idk.
cloakin device from blasters /dev would still let you see details of character costume. But youd be stuck with /dev and as a ghost...no luck there.
Warshade's inky aspect is the same thing. And they get teleport/recall friend without spending a powerpool pick on it.

PB would be swank, though I'd feel doofy if I didn't take the sqid at 6 or dwarf at 20. I've deleted every PB/WS I've ever made. I just don't dig them much. [edit: and you can't color the purple warshade stuff and they can't fly.]
I'll look into the defenders you guys mentioned. Might even cosider letting him have a bow. Thanks.
[edited: I thought about claws/ though it's a strange thing for a ghost. No dev for ghost, too strange. Seems the /dark scrap is something good. If so, he'd do his invisi-hovering while he idles around. ... PB is starting to look better.]

(Note that this character also has a smoky costume aura of the same color.) I tried to get shots of Dark Regen/Consumption on this mission but they didn't turn out very well and I was too lazy to go find lowbies to gank.

However you solve the stealth, I kinda like the thought of taking concealment since it opens phase for you. Which is a handy power depending on your AT and playstyle, and it certainly fits into the ghost theme.

I think one of the Sonic Blast attacks actually uses a wolf howl sound, actually.

I like being the nice guy with Grant Invis, but I don't trust it when people do the same for me.
Off to read about Dark/Sonic defenders. I already know claw/dark off the top of my head, roughly. And then to play with Mids for a while [though I tend to go second build after a while anyway.]
Again, thanks much guys. I never would have considered a defender. My only ones are a kin/AR [fun, but kinda odd] and an archer.
I would go with a D3 customized to your liking. It covers all the ghostly aspects you are looking for.
