Except in PvP, where it switches over completely from a HoT to a +regen...

Yes, this patch was rushed to live to make the anniversary date. I think a great deal of the problems are being caused by the UM changes, but they seem to have sprinkled some manure all over everything along the way.

You can get by Redside a lot easier without a base, but the functionality of a Blue Side base is much greater. Even with Oro and Pocket D, there are so many more places you often have to go as a hero... especially at lower levels before Oro is even an option.
And as was stated, going to the hospital or base. I know that in all of my bases we keep an Inspiration storage and an Auto Doc in the medical room for those times when you can't easily or quickly grab more Insps.
Now, while I have been lax in doing so lately, I usually decorate the heck out of my bases, but I also make sure they are functional first and I make sure the function is "up front" for those folks that don't want the fluff or for those times when on a TF or whatever and time is of the essense.
But yeah, a lot of people still join SG/VGs for function. -
Quote:I think you are over thinking the problem. This has been dicussed, in another form.
There are Threads about being able to access all your storage from any Storage Device, to know what you have, and retrieve it. It was met with DOOOOOMMMMM! And, I can say to a good purpose this time.
To be able to access all your Storage from a central point, and manipulate it, destroys the integrity of the Storage Permissions. Meaning, If you had a Computer that could access all Base Storage, and display it to you in a way that you could get it from that terminal, you could steal your SG Leader's hard earned IO's he/she was saving for his next Alt. (That is just a summary of the arguments that went on in those Threads).
The only way to keep that from happening would be if they gave us a way to Label our Storage Devices, and a way to label the Room they are in. They would then have to give us a way to Set Permissions on those Labels so certain Storage Devices didn't show up, or were Labeled Unaccessible.
While It sounds simple enough, it opens another can of worms so to speak. Without the Labeling of the Storage Racks and Rooms, how would you know where to go get it if you have multiple Storage Racks spread out over Multiple Rooms Providing the Computer doesn't do that for you? Unless the Computer Terminal itself shows a display of your Base Map, and Either Highlights the Room, or the Storage Container.
Seeing as our Map feature just shows the Room layout, and not the Content, that would take considerable programming.
Not trying to "Rain on Your Thread", just trying to give an idea of what it might take to make it happen.

Just make a sorting/access terminal that allows the player using it the same access they are allotted to the storage units. Still saves time and for small SG/VGs that are used mostly for storage and the like, it lets people save a lot of search time. So if character A has rank 3 and access to storage bins 1-4 but not 5-8, the terminal only shows items in said terminals. Don't really see all the doom and gloom you are worried about, nor the difficulty in implementing it since all you will be doing is linking them kind of like how the WW/BM system works. -
Quote:I hate you.Yeah but at least now farming/fighting for it gives hope however faint of PvP recipies to sell for a small fortune. My main blue toon grinded that badge recently and after it was done it had 5 pvp recipies to sell.
5 hours in Warburg badge: check
10 launches of Warburg Rocket: check
Farmed PvP badge at same time: check
Obtained 5 PvP recipes: check
Satisfaction of obtaining nice amount of inf on the market from selling them: Priceless.
Went all the way to 400 in RV... not one single PvP recipe dropped, and that was with nearly 190 killing shots, not just the enemies defeated in teams.
Finally got a single PvP IO in a random arena match where I was helping someone test his build :P -
Nice idea, but pretty pathetic in practice. The lag on Virtue was atrocious and makes me wonder how things will be when everyone is starting in Praetoria in GR. They seriously need to work on server performance when there are large amounts of players/mobs in open areas. Even with graphics at a minimum it was worse than a slide show.

Grats!
I did much the same thing a few weeks back on Virtue. Decided to try for the badge and give zone PvP a try on my DM/Regen scrapper, got the 400 after a few days and had a blast.
What was funny was that save for a few childish folks, the people in the PvP zone were more friendly and more helpful than 90% of the people I run into on PvE missions. Even when getting my bootie kicked...which was often... I was having fun.
Granted, I have been chasing badges lately and have been in RV less of late, but I still like to pop in from time to time just for the fun of it. -
I have only tried one MO TF. A STF... it failed because after the third mission one of our Tanks had an emergency creep up and had to leave and some of the fights got a bit more lethal after that :P
Have been in a couple unplanned "almost" MO TFs, the most recent being a Khan TF, right up until almost to the door to Reichsman's room and the DP blaster could no longer contain his inner stupid and started gun-fuing everything and died. -

Some people will also stop at an optimum level for zone PvP in one of the lower zones.

Avatea posted a sticky in the discussion forum about purchased items from the NCSoft store having a delay before actually being applied. That might have something to do with it.

Quote:It may be called the Deluxe Edition over in Europe... kinda like a "Royale with Cheese".Prestige Power Slide comes with City of Heroes Collector's Edition. I'm not precisely sure what the OP is referring to with "Deluxe Edition", since there is no version of the game named that, but CoH CE is the closest thing I can think of.

*raises hand*
I have a level 50 Energy/Pain corruptor. I even have one of my powers slotted with KB set... just for the fun of it :P
I almost never see any others though. -

Spent the last two weeks getting my feet wet in PvP to work on some badges, it has been a lot of fun and the people for the most part have been very cool and accomodating. I am by far a n00b at PvP, but more than willing to join in any events that get going. And I have to say, the PvP in RV has been a ton of fun.

I come from playing a long line of MMOs where you did NEED a healer to succeed in team based activities, so I can see where people are coming from... only they can't seem to see the difference in CoX vs [insert MMO here].
As has been said, buffs/debuffs make a much bigger difference in this game than in most others. Also, individual characters have far more self survival tools at their disposal than in other games.
I mean, if my DM/Regen scrapper -NEEDS- a heal, chances are:
a) I did something stupid... hey, I'm a scrapper, you know you do it too!
b) We bit off more than we can chew. (see "a")
c) We have a poor group make up for the task at hand. (It happens)
d) It is a very tough encounter. (TF AV fights/GMs, etc)
Now, in situations "c" and "d", yes, a "healer" is a good thing to have. That said, someone who is just healing as if they were playing a priest in WoW, is failing to fully grasp their character's abilities... unless the team is really, really bad.
All told though, I can see the frustration some have with all the "we need a healer" cries, but at the same time I think a lot of the "anti-healer" vitriol is unfounded. Healing, like any other aspect of the game, makes things go smoother. -
I would make the train using the white wall cabinets with the glass panels for windows and perhaps the square metal grates as doors.

Nearly 2 years ago I decided to give Blueside a try and I made a DM/Regen Scrapper because of a concept/theme. It was a blast to play and level... even though I was a total newb and had no clue about "optimal" powers/slotting/etc. After she got to 50, I wandered back to Redside for a while and left her to linger. This past 2 xp weekend I dusted her off to run TFs and such, "poor" power choices/slotting and all, and wow, I was reminded how much fun she is to play, and how effective.
Now, after much influence spent and a bit of time on MIDs as well as crazy badge hunting for accolades, she is just a beast. I absolutely love playing her in every situation in the game... Solo and group PvE, TFs, Arena, zone PvP, whatever. Now, she is not the "optimum" or "ultimate" whatever character, but DM/Regen is extremely versatile and just plain fun. If I had one complaint it would be the lack of AoE damage, but that is not really a big deal.
