Confused about Trial 0.o

I've been playing this game for the past week on Trial mode and decided to buy the Good Vs. Evil pack. I bought it online and it says that the serial code was used on my account but now when I log into the game, all the trial restrictions are still there and I did not get my in-game perks. The only thing that has changed is that the little window telling you that you are playing on trial mode is gone. I still can't 'tell' or broadcast. It also says that I have until May 26, 2010 to play. Is there a way to deactivate the trial and go straight into the full game or do I have to wait until the 14 days runs out before I can start creating teams and get my perks?

I believe you have to wait for the 14 day period to run out, yes.

Ughh, darn it. It doesn't end until the 26th and I'm already lvl 14. I don't want to go on doing missions and losing that exp because my account is still on Trial.

I believe that once you buy the full version of the game, the trial restrictions should go away. However, there is sometimes a decent amount of lag time between when you buy it and when it applies. As such, be a little patient, and see if it goes away. If it doesn't, contact support, and they should be able to fix it.

Until then? Roll up some other characters!

I don't think you have to wait for the 14days to be up (I don't recall it happening to me anyway) once you add the GvE edition you should have full access. Did you setup a subscription when you entered the code? You need to do that in order to fully activate the account and get the free month that comes with the game.

Yeah, I set up a subscription and did everything that it asked me to. Shortly thereafter though, I cancelled the subscription because I don't want to be billed monthly but as far as I know, everything was activated and I guess it might be lag time.

Put a call in to customer support.

Within a short time of your applying the code (anywhere from nearly instantaneously to an hour or two) you should be able to play in full mode.

Also, did you make SURE you upgraded your game account and didn't accidentally create a NEW account?

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

What Hyper said.

Sign on to your NCSoft Master account, and see if it shows 1 game account or 2, if it show 2 then you created a new account with your GvE code. (And no, you don't have to wait until the end of your 14 day trial time.)

Not sure if filing a support ticket (Ask a Question in the suppot section) can get the code swapped over to your trial account, but if you don't ask then the answer is no.

I was thinking the same thing. Every once in a while someone makes an honest mistake and creates a new account rather than upgrading their existing account.

If this is what happened at least the characters on the trial were no higher than 14 so remaking them on the new account is merely inconvienent. What really sucks is when someone makes this mistake with an account that's been active for a while. In that case they are stuck with two accounts.

I upgraded the actual account. I did NOT make a new one. I was sure to pay attention to what I was doing and clicked the right box when that option came up.

EDIT: I re-activated the account by subscribing to the game. Maybe this will activate the free month.

Avatea posted a sticky in the discussion forum about purchased items from the NCSoft store having a delay before actually being applied. That might have something to do with it.

You have to provide a credit card or time card in order to validate the account. You'll get your free month, but you have to have a means of payment on file.

After the trial restrictions are lifted you can goin and unsubscribe and playout the free month. If you never gave them a credit card or time card your account is not officially active yet.
