  1. Try the PvP section. They should have more PvP knowledge then the class forums usually have.
  2. I'd like CO's naming setup better if it using names of items or gear wasnt considered invalid.

IE: My Pistol-Kata character 'Dune Rattler' can't have that name, because theres a piece of crap gear in the desert called 'Rattler'. I can't even have the WORD Rattler in my name. Regardless of the Dune in front.

    Yes.

    Dark/Dark Defenders/Corruptors can add as much control/lockdown as a controller/dom, and much buff/debuff a a Defender/Corruptor and as much DPS as a Corruptor/Blaster. They are absolutely incredible.

Storm SUmmoning is a great set as well, but it has potential to be misused. Alot of inexperienced players (or perma-idiots) can seem to use the set properl. However, when in the right hands, a Storm Defender or Corruptor cn be an incredible team asset.

Pain domination is boringly simple and blad. While it does have it's place, it can't ever reach the potential of Dark or Storm.

Afterall, If you Chose Invulnerability as your primary, you would get an inherent HP boost, and the Tanker Inherent and Tanker Epics pools. You WOULD BE a Tanker basically.

But... you would have ALOT more Secondaries to choose from; Melee Sets (ALL of them)
Ranged Sets (ALL) and Control sets(Probably the safest choice, but LOWEST actual damage).
City Of Heroes will never be Champions Online and Vice Versa. They are seperate for a reason.
  5. TanCrabs and Crabberminds and very different. Putting them together is much harder than it looks, I'd wager. My Crab tanks with his survivability numbers that exceed shield and ice armor numbers and can last as long or longer than invul. I see no point in taking the pets if you want to tank or trying to tank if you take the pets. It's possible, but I dont really see the point.

Though I am curious. I'll throw a build together and see what I can come up with at some point.
  6. 45% is as Effective as 55% defense, agreed.

However, having 55% Defense (although this isn't for the same reason as the other topic) is better than 45%. If someone hits you (rarely, granted) with an attack with a -def component, then that 45% starts to get farthur and farther from the softcap. YOu get hit once with a -Def, and you slowy get hit more and more with more -def until it's null. With 55%, you still have an extra layer of padding to keep you alive slightly loner, even when that first -def happens. It's not a HUGE bonus, but it's nice to have the extra defens just in case.
  7. The total amount of heals he can take is 4, and one of hem nearly kills him, while aother in completely pointless (Aid Other)! All Healing ANYTHINGS are a waste of team space, especially when I could have had a Dark/Pain corruptor with just 2 heals that can handle it, while spamming his Dark Blast AoEs enough to keep the enemies from being able to hit us in the first place!
  8. Fact that bug lived this long is freakin' miracle. Y'all ain' never gonn' see what's comin' in his future. *Spits*

  9. Tough is a Must have for an Elec Armor Tank or Brute, take it.

As far as skippable, I'd have to say Power Surge. Lightning Reflexes contributes more than people give it credit for. 20% recharge bonus just means your closer to using for big AoEs andPower Sink more often. Power Sink is an amazing power, and no matter what secondary you have, LR gets you that much closer to being able to use your good attacks and such more often. The run/flyspeed bonus isn't needed in combat, but it's really just icing on the cake.

For a tanker, I can easily see skipping Power Surge as a possibility. On a brute, not so much, considering their resists with any set arent as impressive as a tank. The numbers for a tanker with Elec Armor are petty good as far as resist go, and the added amount is almot unnoticeable on a tank.

You're the disease that causes me to kick scrappers from my teams (not because they run ahead, but because they think they can solo a mob and die. If they keep doing it and survive I get a grudging dislike for them and eventually stop inviting scrappers to my teams. Or Brutes. Or Tankers. My crab can do it without them).

For a tough Tanker Primary I'd say Invulnerability. The set may be a little boring at forst, but you can't disagree with the numbers. Softcapped Typed defense (if slotted properly) and good resists. Stone Armor is another tough one, but isn't faced paced AT ALL. Its a great survivor, but thats all it does is survive. Willpower is a bit more fast-paced what with Quick Recovery at level 12 (and stamina at 20 if you're crazy like me). Willpower also has the potential for 600%+ Regen. Ice Armor is a Great Fast paced and fun tanker set. They arent as tough in the resistance department, but it isn't hard to get Ice Armors defense to the Softcap. An ice tanks life is based on moving and getting your enemies all bunched around you, and then the Toggle AoE slow and Damage auras (seperate auras of win). Shield has a Very similar playstyle with a great ability to softcap defense as well. Shield however, does not come with a Self-Heal like Ice or Invul.
  11. I like this idea... I have a character or 2 that could fit quite well. What's your global, that I might toss you a /t ?
  12. Aid Self + Power Boost is the real deal.
  13. I blame the holiday, but I see no one but myself and Tir showed up. I expected it, but it happens. I hope to see you all next week.

I guess if you want to slot all 6 pieces of an IO EndMod set for the bonuses then you would do it.

I get by just fine on my fire/ice with 3 slots in stamina and some extra EndRed slotted into individual powers as needed. Flare only runs out of endurance if he gets into a prolonged fight where he runs Snowstorm continuously.
I always 4 slot Stamina with the Performance shifter set, EndMod, EndMod/Acc, EndMod/Rech, +End Proc. But that's with IOs, and I dont suggest you bother too much with sets yet. Instead I'll sugest 3 generic ENDMOD SOs or IOs, and the Performance Shifter +End Proc.

I neglected to even open up the Fitness pool. Around level 22 this became apparent as all of the sudden I sucked.... Endurance that is, like mad.

    Oops....

I never backed down. I thought Heroes always stood their ground.
Then I came to the boards and read a wonderful guide by SnipeFu.
It changed the way I viewed the AT and made me rethink everything.

Luckily freespecs were granted with the next issue and I was able to fix my mistakes pretty easily. Back then we had no fancy respec recipes or Vetspecs. You either did the respec trial or suffered.

    Goodluck with the repairs!

    Good Times, good times...

I did the same thing with my Energy/Energy, and with the new Epic power to the Force set, I may just need to bust him out, brush off the dust, and get him back to work.
  16. I have an Energy Blaster that I havent fixed the slotting on that was a speedster. Superspeed was slotted with full sets of Celerity and Quickfoot. Thats right. It's 6 slotted. :P

My run speed is capped with just superspeed, so I have hurdle instead, and it REALLY helps me get around. I also have the prestige sprint power Quick on while I run, so it looks like I have a ton of energy flying off me, and I'm hard to see because I go so fast (thanks to the stealth proc).

I need to change his build to only 3 slotted superspeed with just Celerity, and that'll get him at the speed cap and give me more room in my build.

Well, if you want PvP freedom is probably the place to go. We have a fairly consistent arena crowd some nights, but luckily it isn't full of l33t d00ds. There are a few, but it's not completely full. RV is actually kinda fun on this server, besides the people who think they're better than everyone because they killed a blaster. There are definately a few. If you want to Roleplay, then please, transfer, or at least rolla toon here. If you only wanna PvP then go to Freedom.

It's also effective at dropping toggles on certain problem enemies, particularly Cimerorans who lose their mez protection when drained and thus become vulnerable to KD. Is this no longer considered a viable survival tool for some reason?
This is what my Elec/Elec does, and it works fine in big mobs, but against single EBs or AVs, not so much. With Power Sink, Ball Lightning, Lightning Field and Elec Fences all slotted with at least 1 End Mod I can keep almost everything without END. I also slot Stun Procs in Lightning Field and Power Sink, and it makes tanking large mobs a Breeze. I plan on slotting for +HP and +Regen with +Recharge and +Recovery as a backseat objective. I doubt I'll even bother with Defense besides taking Weave.

No way. I'm a selfish blaster and love Power Boosting an Aid Self with PFF on.
  21. Your a Fire Tank and dont have Acrobatics.
  22. I was in open and I'm going to start playing on Live within a couple of weeks. I've also been trying to pull a RP Superteam together over there, but so far I'm unsuccesful.
