It's kinda funny, but most of the arguments I see coming from folks like you can be boiled down to a series of asterisks. Really shows the quality of your arguments, and their origins. Pure, raw emotion straight from the "anger" side of the five stages of grief.

Actually, Ms. Lackey is a Huge fan of City of Heroes and is very upset about the closure of the game and how it was handled. She was interviewed on a podcast recently and once they were on the topic of the closure the other guests had a hard time getting a word. It's not about publicity for her, she's already established herself as an author. She is vehement about how the closure was handled and the fact that NcSoft has had nothing to say beyond a very generic response.
Look, if you want to play an NcSoft title, no one here is stopping you. I, personally, won't be buying any more NcSoft branded products. I already know, via their inept handling of marketing, that they will bungle themselves into oblivion one day, and that's fine by me.
That being said I wish the moderators of this forum all the luck in the world these next few weeks. They will have the hardest job. Believe it or not they do still exist here and are probably biding their time where a few of you are concerned. As for me, I'm not going to bother with another farewell thread. I got internet back earlier than I'd hoped and came back to the forums that were once a mark of pride for CoH. Now, these forums read exactly like the WoW forums. Congradulations in your bullying efforts. You've made me realize that this portion of the game is now over for me.

Your main mistake is your assumption that I'm actually arguing with you.
I'm not.
I'm simply making a statement that your PARTICULAR presentation of your perception of "fact" is openly hostile and unproductive.
Even then, I'm not asking you to shut up. I'm simply saying your expression of confusion over having your own hostility being met with more hostility is disingenuous. You KNOW what sort of reaction you're going to get by saying things the way you're saying them. And, because it makes you the center of attention, you're going to continue to do so. Regardless of what anyone says. No matter how reasonable. This is what makes you an *******.

How does it serve you to attempt to crush the feelings of people who trying to preserve something that matters to them? Sure, they may fail-- and the odds may favor failure-- but how does it make your life better to tell them this?
For myself, I nearly left COH a few years ago. What kept me here was that I made some new friends who brought new life to the game for me. So I'm doing my best to convince my friends to try other games with me.
Will it hurt when COH closes and I lose characters that I've had for over 8 years? Characters that I spent thousands of hours on?
Of course it will.
But I will remake my characters in other places. DC Online and Champions Online now. Quite possibly other games to come in the future.
I am grateful for the time I got to spend in COH. I am grateful for the friends that I made in this game. I am grateful that many of the Devs who made the game that I enjoyed so much have been able to move on and find employment. I am hopeful that those who haven't done so yet will do so in the future.
And even if the Project Z people fail to pull off a game, they may learn skills or make contacts that allow them to go on as future developers to make games that I WILL enjoy.

It's certainly not any sort of "tough love" BS. Everyone already knows that the game servers are being shut down and the various efforts to continue the CoH experience post shutdown will probably not succeed, but it's important enough to them that they intend to try anyway, so really empathy has little to do with your posts outside of a sado-masochistic context.

I only really have 2 major issues with organized religion.
#1. Don't kill (or violate other human rights) in a deity's name. Especially since one of the main modern ones whose name has been used to justify much of the killing, specifically said NOT to kill in his name.
#2. Stop assuming the second coming is tomorrow. Assume it isn't. That way you can stop treating the car (Earth) like you can dent it as many times as you want because you 'think' a semi is going to plow into it the next day.

2. I do not think Psychiatry is the answer; here or in most cases of emotionally co-dependency. Psychotropic medications are overused throughout the world.
3. I never once called people fools, idiots, or suggested people were suicidal over the closing of CoH.
