Refund Day
yes, I received an email earlier today. I'm supposed to get 7,77 back from the 64,99 I paid for my last 6 month sub.
Just wondering if anyone received their refund yet, my Bank Balance looking very bleak atm.
Not holding my breath as putting faith into NCsoft would be a very silly move. |
My CC is at the same bank as my regular accounts and it takes them 3 days to process funds being transferred from one account to the CC account.
Got two notices from NCSoft that, well, confuse me.
In August, I extended my subscription twice, once to extend my VIP time to September 22nd, another to extend it to October 22nd. So if they're refunding unused balances since September 1, was expecting 14.99 back from the second, and about $10 back on the first, give or take.
Instead, the first payment had 97 cents refunded, and the second payment (full month) had $9.67 refunded.
Paid via PayPal, so that's how the refund was handled, and in fact they were tied to that payment.
Will be curious to see if others report a partial, if it's something unique to Paypal accounts (they're removing processing fees or something) or what.
My arcs are constantly shifting, just search for GadgetDon for the latest.

Also confirming a refund for both of my accounts: 1 partial, 1 full.

No emails or anything here, probably will see something in a few weeks given the CC company holding onto refunds and so on.

I got a full refund for the points I bought on the 24th, but still lost about a dollar or so, due to exchange rate changes from that point. No sign of the refund for my gametime yet, though.

I got a full refund today through Paypal. Crazy as this sounds, I'm actually finding this encouraging. Hasn't NCSoft just diverted whatever gametime you had left into whatever new game they wanted to shuffle players to in cancellations past? Obviously we're not at the finish line yet, but we HAVE made progress already!
EDIT: Whoops, it wasn't a full refund, it was just a partial. My point still stands though.

Well crap.
We got our refunds for all four accounts of ours. We forgot it was refund day, and so it was like "Yay, free money! Oh wait. "
And ours was through Paypal.
I took advantage of their holiday 14 months for 12 deal...twice (2011 and 2010). Hence my sub was up in May of 2013. Even if they don't count the bonus time, they owe me for two months. No emails for me though.
Just done with this company.
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
I guess it's kind of why I don't mind paying for the game, because the game itself is usually awesome and well developed, but I don't really consider paying monthly subs worth it anymore, because IMO, if I'm giving em 15 a month or whatever it happens to be, I should have access to decent quality customer service, for when there is something wrong with the service they are providing and I am paying for.

So if you paid by credit card, there may be a delay in notification from your bank (or may be no notification until you next check your balance).
BTW, I figured out why I got the refunds I did. Did two non-recurring subscription extensions, one on August 2, one on August 20th. If they had been made to an account with no VIP time on it, the first payment would take me to September 2nd (so a 97 cent refund would be in line) and the second to September 20th (making a 10 refund correct). Hopefully Larry in billing will understand my explanation and get it all handled. But nice to understand the numbers, they'd seemed to be completely inexplicable.

Close to 350.00 for all four accounts, even the one I had removed the billing information from.
I got two of my refunds but theres plenty more im waiting on, I hope with time ill get them all.
Mine came through on Thursday. I renewed with a 6-month sub on 8/28 (right under the wire so I at least get to finish up with VIP status which is kind of cool).
