The news that NCSoft will be giving out refunds is good news. Thank you, Z.

Better news, of course, would be news of CoH some how, some way continuing, or being relaunched. There is no reason to believe, at this juncture, that that might not still be possible.

Keep playing and enjoying the time we have left with the game... and keep hoping and working towards a brighter tomorrow.

This does not mean its over, people. Don't give up hope, and please don't stop fighting. I still think we have a hell of a chance to get at least some of what we want...

I still don't want CoH to die it's really hurting me and alot of us to see NCSoft to shut CoH down

Just wanted to voice my thanks for a truly phenominal game and in regards to the continued professionalism displayed by Paragon Studios. I pray God speed-boost all of you in all of your endevours.

I shall play untill the servers go black. Even if I'm alone on the server, I'll be running 4x8's and critical-ing Death Mages and Nemi's around the PI kill loop near Portal Corp. (Oh, and I guess killing in the new Dark Astoria... keep forgetting about that)

Zwillinger, you have always treated me with respect and dignity as a customer, and even individually on a couple of occasions when I voiced a complaint on the forums. If I didn't complain much, it's because I was playing City of Heroes. A lot. I mean, really, a lot. I played the crap out of this game. I've been playing MMORPGs a long time and none of them ever reached into me and hooked me like City of Heroes has, and does.

My Android would send me an email anytime you uploaded your coffee talk streams to YouTube. I only ever participated in a couple (time, RL, etc), but I watched them later. I looked forward to them so much. Not just to get the scoop on new and upcoming features, but to laugh along with you and the rest of the team as they made "guest" appearances. I could tell you loved your job so much, and Andy, I just want you to know that I am so very sorry. Words cannot explain how grateful I am to have been a part of this ride and how heartbroken I am for your loss and for mine and everyone else. You may not know me, but I'll miss you so very much.

I'm still hoping for a miracle, and still going to help try and create one, but I just wanted you to know how I felt.

First of all.....
in the past 5 years I have not bothered to use the forums for voicing my opinion(s) all that much.....
but....
I tend to read them all the time because of the invaluable info contained.
This forum and community is the BEST bar none online.

Paragon Studios' development team approached the game's community with respect, loyalty, and a passion I have NOT seen online yet online.

Saying that I understand the "whys" NCSoft did what they did.
(being from the far east they have NO inkling on how and WHY the west has a love for comics, super-heroes, the lore behind it all, etc)
They think that the west ONLY has interest(s) in "fantasy" MMOs and want to make WoW clones and milk it for all that's worth.

They think that the west is an "ignorant" culture.
Period.

My sincere hope is that this news today does NOT discourage any and all of the player base about the possibility(s) of City of Heroes continuing on.
Common sense tells everyone that NCSoft will not have anything to do with it.
But in this modern world of "buy-outs", "down-sizing", "umbrella organizations", etc......
HOPEFULLY CoX will be taken into the future BY SOMEONE IN THE WEST WHO UNDERSTANDS THE LOVE FOR THIS GAME

In MY opinion THAT is the MAIN reasoning for signing a petition that I did on day one.
To show ANOTHER company (established or new) that THIS GAME....
this community......
this ESCAPE WE CALL CITY OF HEROES is worthwhile, viable....
and CAN MAKE THEM MONEY if organized correctly.

With re-organization of servers, devs, and ACTUAL advertising????
This would STOMP on DCUO, Chumpions Online.....
and give WoW a serious run for it's money over a period of time.

I know that you're doing your job, and I thank you for doing it to the best of your ability with what tools you had. Also my prayers go out to the Paragon Studios dev team and I really hope you guys land on your feet.

However, I will say this. NCSoft, go [censored] yourself, go [censored] long and hard with a splintery 2x4 set on fire wrapped with rusty barbed wire. This here has confirmed one thing, I will never, ever, ever touch a NCSoft product, ever. I'm sure the higher ups are saying it's only one guy, but go [censored] yourself NCSoft and you will never see my money, ever.

A refund is good, yes. I can understand the need, and I can certainly use the money, even if it's only, roughly, a hundred bucks.

I, too, wish and pray that the game is picked up by another company able to continue where it's leaving off, characters and accounts intact. That would, of course, be ideal, similar in some ways to NECA's acquisition of the HeroClix game system from Topps when WizKids was having to change hands over a year's hiatus.

Someone was quoting Killer Instinct and Altered Beast earlier.

Allow me to add another Altered Beast quote here, this one aimed at City of Heroes itself across the generations of gamers.

Out of curiosity, how will NC Soft be reimbursing all the time and effort we put into the game?

I played and paid for this game with the (apparently mistaken) belief that I was building up to something that continues to get better. I put 7+ years of time into this game. The "characters" that are going to be so nonchalantly removed from me represent not so much the money I put into the game rather the time I spent building them up. A person can pay the monthly bill and not play. The characters only progress with the time invested.

While it is true that I paid a monthly subscription to play the game, I was under the impression that we get more than a month's enjoyment. Each consecutive month played builds up to something better. I didn't start a new level one character at the start of each billing cycle. Now I have 7+ years of time put into these characters. The money was gone each month and I understood that, but the time was supposed to continue to accumulate into better gameplay. So, again, how is that time going to be reimbursed?

There is a lot to be ticked off for regarding this act on the part of NC Soft. But what upsets me the most is the attitude that "it was just business". Those characters represent long hours and late nights of my life. I willingly traded that time to not only have fun at that moment, but also to INVEST in something. Now, NC Soft is going to take that time invested and just delete it?

I'm not asking to have NCSoft to go belly up on something that doesn't bring in massive wads of cash. But I am very interested in knowing what efforts were being made to reimburse the players for years of dedication to thier game? What exactly do I have to show to 7+ years once the cord is pulled? Did they even attempt to sell the game or find alternative means to allow players to have access to thier invested time?

The utter disrespect shown by NCSoft's silence is disgusting.

Simply put, I won't be putting any more money into NCSoft or anyone related to NCSoft (that's you, Nexon). I'll be certain to make everyone else I know understand this situation.

If this question was asked already sorry for the repeat, but what about partial refunds for unused Paragon Points? I bought $100 worth a points back in July and still have well over half of those left. Will there be any prorated refund for large sums of Paragon points still left on the account?

Got like 3000 points unused... What do I do with them?
Cant play the game anyome, I tried but its to sad for me.

Anyone else notice that the live chat date keeps changing, one time the time listed to use live chat was Thursday, last week it was Tuesday, so today I went to use it and it's now Monday.
