Quote:So a week before the announcement? Appreciated, even though I dropped my hundred dollars on the 12th. Regretting that move now.[*]Customers who purchased Paragon Points after August 24, 2012 will receive a refund to the payment method used for the original purchase
It isn't quite "I'll never touch another NCSoft product again" bad, but it does make the idea of dealing with them a lot less appealing. -

Quote:Then again, that seems to be two more reliable sources than are supporting the rumor, at least from what I've seen.
I believe "everyone" is two people. And I'd be really happy if you could point me to anything where someone (who should actually know) comes out and says this is not true. So far, there's been no debunking.
At this point, it sounds like pointing at a random person on the street and screaming, "Alien!"
And then demanding scientific proof to debunk it.

Well we'll get it, obviously, just not immediately. I'm not seeing much of a difference personally, between doing the article a day or two in advance of it, and a week or two in advance of it. *Shrugs*

Ahh, not a groundbreaking week- but I might get time manipulation while it's on sale.
Edit: Or, I would buy it for when my VIP account expires. If I could. -

Quote:Maybe you have superior timing. What? No Pokebra characters?
I had no trouble getting to the site earlier and I'm still getting there now.
I got to it a few minutes later, but didn't want to double pose.. or edit, apparently.
EDIT: And hopefully I'll get the costume code from the story teller contest featured in my forum title, too. I am on the list, right? -

I wonder of the people behind it have any idea what's up, hehe.
I might show up to see what people show up as, especially since it's on Virtue. Does anyone know if Golden Girl's coming yet? -
Quote:Maybe they've got a bunch more screens downstairs? Besides, it's gotta be hard to get a full house, ya know, with a criminal population in the billions.Wow. With all these epic movies being shown in Paragon City, it's kind of a bummer that all of the theaters there are so teeny-tiny!
Paragon City could really use a Giant Superplex Megatheater!
Per street. -
Quote:That was my first thought on this sale as well, although I'm not sure if I'd personally buy it.It would be nice if VIPs had the option to "permanently unlock" features that are included with VIP, in the event they have to cancel their VIP subs.
It would be nice to have the option.

Underwhelming, but appreciated" sums up my feelings for this week's offering.

Quote:Happened here too. So was it random or did it hit everyone? For about an hour or so yesterday, the Forums would not accept my password and locked me out for a 15 minute period. No matter how carefully I tried, it gave my password the buzzer. It also told me I had two more tries left, then locked me out after just one more (sort of like bypassing the Triple Dare and going right for the Triple Dog Dare.
) I got an email alert that someone had tried and failed after 5 tries.
And I returned about an hour later and got in first try.
Did that happen to anyone else yesterday? -

And while RP walking everywhere, they're forced to speak only in red text?
My chances would sadly probably revolve around slowing down experience gain speed. To be honest, it's probably a bit late for that anyway but I'd try to push for a slider to convert exp into influence, rather than the all or nothing approach.
But mostly, I think my mindset would be around extending the sprint to level fifty and past one way or another. Emphasize that even with post fifty content, the game lives and dies by 'the trip to the top' more than the view from the top.
I'd probably also buy into the idea that yes there should be some badges that you only get one shot at and others that are hard to get.
Superpacks. I'd probably be more friendly towards the concept than 90 percent of our posters right now.
But.. that's just me, of course. And my 'easier to hate' ideas. -
Quote:You seem to be leaving out the possibility that there's still good stories being made, but not enough people are finding, playing and rating them. Even with advertising, there's only so much you can do if people aren't playing. And good arcs, sadly, aren't always properly advertised. Mine could probably use a little advertising.
So yeah, either the Devs have largely forgotten about AE, or nobody's creating good AE content anymore. Or both.
I'm still playing, but lately, I've been going on less. When I did head on, it was to play the first signature story arc and the Dark Astoria revamp. I've been meaning to play more MA other than my own bank robbery stand-by.

Quote:I remember some quite intelligent posts on the PVP issues- but I remember a lot more baseless hype, complaining, and a general feeling that insisted they were basically screaming into their keyboard.Maybe someone with better knowledge of the CoX timeline can correct me here, but since i13 (which again, 95% of the pvp crowd HATED, so we can hardly call that 'supporting' pvp), what has been DONE to pvp?
Too many PVP'ers chose to express themselves in an emotional, nonconstructive way. That isn't a PVP issue, of course; it's happened on PVE massive changes too.
But when yo say something like 95% of the players hated it, I hear "A majority of vocal PVP posters hated it, so I'll round that up to 95%."
PVPers were complaining about the much-hated delay in movement powers, claiming it removed an element of 'skill' from the game. Ignoring the fact that 'skill' was jumping around moronically to make it harder for the other player to target you. Relying on the painfully limited, non intuitive targeting system in this game is skill? I never saw the logic to that one.
PVP'ers would turn around and complain about not getting full benefits from IO sets. To me, whining that spending billions on IO's not giving you enough of an advantage over a player with SO's totally contradicted the skills argument.
At least, to my ears, a lot of the posts come out sounding like "Hey look a bunch of people hate this issue. I better flame it too."

I can only imagine how much these threads make them want to stab Castle.
I go into PVP zones on rare occasion, but I've yet to really feel comfortable there. There's such a huge, unfortunate disconnect between 'story' and 'gameplay.' I understand the logic behind PVP'ers not being there to provide a roleplaying experience, but it's a disincentive to me. I might be more interested in it felt more like the characters were engaging in battle and less like what it feels like now. IE more mature trash talk, at the least.
I'm also not a fan of the targeting system.
I also feel kind of awkward going up and attacking a player out of nowhere. That last one doesn't really go well with zone event style PVP'ing.
I'm not that talented of a pvp'er, but that part doesn't bug me as much as the others.

Okay I've lost track. What's the next power set we're supposed to want? So I know what to claim I've wanted since the game started, and so I can figure out how insane it is that we haven't already gotten whatever it is we haven't gotten yet.
