I don't know about you, but nothing gets me pumped up to see a new movie like a good trailer. Something with earth-shaking music, hard-hitting action scenes, fast edits and one helluva voice over. I think you guys are really going to enjoy this.

It's a shame this isn't posted on the YouTube site that is listed at the end of the trailer.

The video on gametrailers was poor quality and I wasn't impressed with the GT logo being stamped in various places during playback.

EDIT: It's an uphill struggle.


If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Noice. Both regarding Bill, and the trailer itself, though I am less than a fan of the voice. Definitely shoulda been your stereotypical movie announcer voice and begun with the line: "In a world where..."

Okay, now that was cool. Of the two 'halves', the second was DEFINITELY better, playing more to the "Ocean's Eleven" vibe, but both were very well done!

Look at it this way:

City of Heroes is being featured on page one of one of the biggest gaming media sites in existence on the day of their major relaunch. The amount of hits and visibility we get out of being on Gametrailers is *huge*.

In other words, Marketing/PR did good.

P.S. We'll have it on YouTube in a week or so to give Gametrailers exclusivity for awhile.

Argh!!!!!!!

Ah well, I'll eventually get to watch it in a format that isn't such poor quality. It says it's available in HD, but I can't find any settings to turn HD on.

But, since I'm not the target audience for the Summer Event I guess it isn't that important anyway.

And, like VC, I've never heard of them before today either.

Not picking on Marketing/PR but the comments at that site say it all.

Wow... this game is still going?

Gametrailers... plays game trailers. I thought their specialty was HD trailers for a while.

I got the most out of the site as the host for the HAWP (Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin') web-series/comic/videos.

Those comments mentioned about "this game is still going?" is someone inquiring about the game that wouldn't have otherwise said anything about it. It's good to get out of your comfort zone once in a while.

The marketing department hasn't done it's job......yet the game is over 8 years old and still going.

Something must be working for that to happen, and it's not just word of mouth. This game will never have the budget Blizzard or other major developers can throw at their PR machines. Our marketing department has been trying different things, and though some have not worked (like in-game ads), there is more to PR than big-budget commercials or trying to put ads into magazines that are going belly up as the industry dies.


Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Also, the vid was perfect except...well the voice did sound a bit cheesy at time but it was nice!

I see very few people running about without vet badges these days (And yes I am nosy and check everyone I team with, and pretty much anyone who runs past while I am idle - not checking for badges as much as to see what sets they are etc, but noobs do stick out in my head because I try and be nice to them where I can).

From my in game experience there are less and less people playing, which is a combination of poor marketting and poor recent gameplay decisions.

Aside from the stand in the comic book store in the Big Bang Theory (Which I am not sure had much to do with those who run the game in all honesty) I have never seen this advertised anywhere.

I also find trailers a really strange way to advertise a game with not exactly state of the art graphics. Though will not complain at anything they do, as long as they are doing 'something'.
