Considering that there is no real information on how it will play out (apart from that it will be similar to Ultima Online,) in that players will take up positions of power running cities... but apart from that, actual hard facts of the game are few and far between.

And to be honest, it does make sense to run the game world like Ultima Online, and not like City of Heroes.. especially as it *is* based on a game where player/player interaction is *very* important (unless you go for the hack/slash style of the tabletop... valid, but different).

Especially seeing as they also slashed the development team of the game to refocus themselves on Eve Online and Dust 514.

Well I think i might stick to Skyrim for a bit..

I've been looking at other MMOs, and I feel its too soon. It's like going out and buying a cute puppy to try and replace the old and trustful dog you just lost.

I looked at the Doctor who MMO ( http://www.doctorwhowit.com/fue.xhtml ) but sadly its a facebook type game <bleech>

I think I'll invest some energy into a pen n paper game using marvel superhero's old system and set in Paragon.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

The Secret World for me. At the very least, it's unique. SWTOR was way too much like WoW: Star Wars Edition. The other two superhero MMOs are pretty much garbage, STO is kind of interesting, but also kind of bleh.

My feelings toward NCSoft right now prevent me from considering GW2.

I just remembered... I'll probably check out Marvel Heroes if it comes out.

I've been toying with SWTOR for a while now. It's neat, but it probably won't have staying power. After that? TSW, maybe. Or I might upgrade my Gamefly sub. Then again, with classes back on, I'd be better served just folding that time back into studying.

I just installed CO, and have had a quick go at it. It's no CoH, but it's an OK alternative. May stick with it for a while after CoH has closed down.

Now that I have a capable computer (thanks to CoH and an unfortunate incident with a laptop and a beverage), it's odd to have options. I've downloaded Star Trek Online and gone through part of the tutorial. Hard to say.

Yep, that's where I'll go. I just hope the game will be old WoD...in the new one only Changeling is good.

Although close enough (my global got changed but i never altered it in my sig...)
I would have a few OWoD Tatts if I didn't have such a dark complexion lmao.

I love, honor and respect the Gangrel but sadly I'm a Cappadocian at heart *sniffle* (Stupid Giovani hissss) if I would break myself down to 3 classes I would be a Cappadocian/Malkavian/Gangrel but now I'm just being greedy!

I haven't watched the videos in sometime but I remember them saying that they are starting with the original Masquerade Clans. They will expand on the non vampire stuff later.

DCUO is...meh OK but I felt that it was lacking compared to City of Heroes : /. No MMO's for me until the WoD.

I've been playing Rift with ExtraGonk for the last year... it's no City of Heroes, not by a long shot, but it's also not *that* bad (assuming you're OK with the whole elves and dwarves thing...).

It does have quite a few things going for...

- achievements (think badges...
- artifacts (think badges... only you have to collect thousands of little shiny things)
- fun world/zone quests
- 2 headed turtles to ride around on
- decentish community
- devs/community managers that seem to listen (sometimes)
- continual new content (think issues... we're about to get Issue 10 which isn't bad for a year and a bit)
- Exemping down (no sidekicking up but you can team with people lower than you)
- A big world to explore - level design is interesting and varied
- there always seems to me that there is something to do
- big expansion coming up so a good time to jump in
- spec styles are quite wide and varied - stuff in there for min-maxers and newbies alike
- pvp can be pretty fun... (and I don't even like pvp!)

Sure there are no costumes but you can still have a bit of fun trying to make your characters look cool...

You can play for free from 1-20 too, so no need to buy and then decide you don't like it.

If you do fancy picking it up I'm on IceWatch EU, happy to help new starters out :-) Find me as Psygon or Shpongle, or ExtraGonk as Remington and yeah... there are no globals in this game...

oh and quick edit... player and guild 'housing' is coming soon - reminds me of bases... just without all the cool superhero stuff

I will likely be going to SWTOR along with a few of my in-game friends and significant other. I will be playing on the "The Shadowlands" Server on both Imperial and Republic sides.

My main character there will likely be a Sith Marauder named Sêth (and yes, the ê is important [Alt+0234]). When and if I get to unlock the Legacy system he will be Sêth Ventra.

I have a lifetime sub to Secret World (same name as usual) and I've seen some promising stuff at PAX this weekend. I have up to three months to decide what I'm going to do. I can't spend all of it crying, can I?

For me (sigh), I guess Secret world (leviathan, templar). Its strange really. Anarchy Online, was my first game (and I really put my gaming time in there) and its still going.
CoH was my first real RP (and its going to be gone)...
Not going to look at a ncsoft product for a while, but maybe in the future (depends upon my friends).
So Secret world for mmo.
And plenty of single player i.e mount and blade:warband (some of the mods are just awesome), strategy games and the like.

TSW looked interesting to me, but from what I could see of it, the creativity I enjoyed expressing in this game just isn't there; I'm not here just for the punchy-punchy moments. The friend who got me into this game also dabbles in CO so maybe I'll look into that, even though I know it's going to be a failure in comparison. :/

This was my first MMO as well.

I grew up on comic books, so that's the only fantasy that interests me. I guess I'll be trying DCU Online.

I don't really play games much these days, so although I'm very saddened by the death of CoH I'm not that affected by it. I played a few hours of DCUO and it was enjoyable enough that I'd like to play it some more. I might play Champions Online a little just because I read on its forum that once you get a character to level 10 a lot more options open up on the character creator. I also have an Everquest II account which I occasionally enter.

Guess i'll go finish stuff on my PS3 and Xbox 360, yet to find a MMO that even is worth looking into for me

Going to miss the fun and nice people here at CoH. Feel free to add me on PS3/XBox360
PS3X360: OmniNogard
Currently playing: Mass Effect 3(PS3) Minecraft(X360) Skyrim(X360).

I'm pleasantly surprised. CO is turning out to be a better game than I remember it being a few years ago. It looks better, and plays better. May stick with it. Also met a few people on there that play CoH, so that's good.

Word on the street is CoX died because of licensing issues with Cryptic. I'm not going anywhere near CO. I'd play GW2 first.

City of Heroes was my first MMO, & my favorite computer game.

Even though I haven't had much time the last couple of years to play City of Heroes this is still all a big shock to me nonetheless... 12 lvl 50s, over 5 and a half years... pretty much my entire highschool life went into this game, it was a big part of me and it's sad to see this go.

I guess at the moment with uni almost up and starting a fulltime job immediately afterwards all I can say is gaming time is going to be hard to come by for me if it hasn't already for the last 2 years. I am holding out for the new Sim City, the only other 2 games that have really captured my attention is Sim City and Roller Coaster Tycoon (which hasn't exactly announced of a restart yet). So I guess that will be where my gaming side of life will head to.

I guess what is really the worst bit of all is not that the game is closing down, but when it does, that's it, there's no way anybody can ever experience it again. It's the brutal bit about MMOs when they die, they don't just "go out of fashion", they go out of existence.

It's been great fun COH, I've made some lifelong friends and given me some great inspiration! This is probably the greatest MMO to date to be put to sleep and its innovation and legacy will surely live on!

I think i am left homeless.
This was the only MMO, I played regularly.

I hope for a Miracle like Kickstarter or something like that and be ready for suport.
If this fails, my MMO Story comes to an End after more then 7 Years (since German Release).
