I am so surprised.

Also creating a Marvel-based series for ABC...

It's a trap Joss!

Well ABC hasn't shafted him ... yet. Especially since like Marvel it's Disney.

I hope he gets big piles of money, it's about time.

Well, when someone makes you 1.4 *Sagan*BEE-LEE-YUN*/Sagan* dollars in one movie.

Well, you don't **** where you live.

If it has EVEN ONE @#$@!#$!@!$@% can't-act-can't-figure-out-emotion-emoish @#$@#$@# kid/teenager/twenty something in it, I'm out. Not even going to give it a full episode before I turn it off and burn my TV down.

I've already forgotten about most of you

Pfft. Who cares about that. Turn off the volume and stare at the yummy girls in skintight outfits.

Or the hawt guys if your preferences lean in that direction.

At least Whedon has experience with superpowered teenagers if it comes to that.

copy paste hyperstrikes first post

I mean the man made them a BILLION dollars for being a kickass director that knew how to put together a great superhero film. I belive that a sequal and a tv show is the least dis can do

He made them the money, he gets to do whatever the pancake he wants on a tv show. Noone's going to seriously question him when he makes the highest grossing film of all time with only his second or third feature.

With the Avengers movie Whedon finally made the big-time from the insider "Hollywood darling" point of view. Making billions for the studios should allow him carte blanche to do whatever he wants. Joss could probably get away with creatively "phoning it in" for the next few years and still be considered A-list uber player in Hollywood.

That's not to say I expect the next Avengers pojects from him to totally suck. I'm just saying if he wanted to shoehorn a "@#$@!#$!@!$@% can't-act-can't-figure-out-emotion-emoish @#$@#$@# kid/teenager/twenty something" into whatever he does next then I'm sure it's going to happen. In fact I fully expect to see some kind of Buffy/Fray/River/Echo clone in some form or fashion.

While it's true Whedon has not been directly responsible for too many movies he's been writing for many movies for decades. He's got a long career of experience and great work so I had little fear about his handling of the Avengers movie when I first heard he was going to do it.

My point is that he didn't just suddenly make a billion-dollar movie out of the blue on his first movie job - his whole decades-long career has been leading him towards this achievement.

I'm calling it - the Marvel-based TV series will be... Runaways.

Oh lord! We need a guest star by Hugh Jackman just so we can see Bruiser toss him through a couple walls.

Hell, I'd pay money to go to a theater and see a 5 minute short of that!

I have this awesome idea that Joss could lift from a comic book and turn into a series.

It's kind of like cowboys in space...

I was hoping Joss would do a Black Widow solo movie...

I really should do something about this signature.

You mean.....a Wagon Train to the stars?

Cos I think that's been done already

Lets be honest, Joss Whedon is rarely anything other than exceptional! Even the worst episodes of Buffy and Angel far surpass the vast majority of TV out there!

I'm stoked and can't wait to see what he comes up with

Eh, we'll see where this goes. He earned a lot of credit with me with the first Avengers movie, but that didn't really give him enough time to slip into his bad habits. He tends to do phenomonal early on, then start slipping the longer it goes.

BUT! At this point he's earned a few slips. So no real worries I suppose.

Is it bad that I've never considered Linda Carter as WW all that attractive? She's kind of mannish.

No it's okay not to be a fan of Linda Carter as WW. But us old fart WW fans didn't have much of a selection to choose from. It was Linda or Cathy Lee Crosby.

Even if you weren't a Linda Carter fan you at least recognized who she was supposed to be.

While it'd probably be a flat, lifeless wreck of a movie, it'd probably STILL make bank based on testosterone poisoned geekboys.

Too bad Megan has already pretty much nixed the idea and said something to the effect that she didn't identify with the character at all.

That's because she's a sex robot.

It wouldn't be a *good* movie, don't get the wrong idea, but I'd still watch it. Muted, preferably.
