Hey, she's the world's most powerful psychic. She can make you see her standing anywhere she wants.

i always thought the time and view of the world was in through the eyes of the individual player but then they threw big monkey wrench into that by making penny grow up. Even if the events of faultline was by definition was a time period before penny grew up and you encounter her again in IP, it does explain how is that you can take rideback to fault line which i though was along the same time line as therest of paragon cuty (aka not in the past nor future dimension) and she is little again. with states and sister psyche, dead and removed from game, even no more States in LRSF, but Sis. Psy is still there in the alternate future of course which doesnt seem too account for the SSA time lines, but she is too missing from the last LRSF mish. Anyways, i think that previous pic with the lines, summed up the timeline logic in this game pretty well.

So, how does it work when you have a kheldian? I mean, do you count them as two people? cuz that would make things... well, interesting for 'relationships'

But I never was in favor of removing Sister Psyche or Statesman, but the excuse was, they're dead so they have to be taken out, nevermind the fact that the TFs happened before the SSA.

Well, the SSA happened, Imperious and Romulus are dead. So they should be removed under the same thinking.
They have been taken out of the Paragon City PRESENT. They still exist in the PAST, and can still be seen via time travel (in mender Mender Silos' arc for example).

Imperious and Romulus exist in the PAST. They cannot be found in any zones that are in Pargon City PRESENT.

I really should do something about this signature.

For Peacebingers, the personalities merge, creating one new person out of two. That is why separation is so traumatic for both parties.

Often, for Nictus, the Nictus personality dominates the host body, however this is not always the case.

Warshades aren't Nictus anymore, they're reformed Nictus that have allowed their host some control, and is much like Peacebringers in that their personalities merge.

This.

Although this would sort of make Requiem a Warshade, since his original human personality is dominant.

It's just confusing because Statesman and Psyche are dead and gone from the second you step out of the Tutorial (and apparently have been for quite a while), but Penelope Yin is still a teenager fifteen levels "later" (which means you're at a point in time literally years before Statesman and Psyche died), and over on Redside, Darrin Wade has yet to even start his scheme to kill Statesman when you meet him in your 20's.

Simply removing Statesman and Psyche from the game's "present" has started a domino effect of temporal anomalies (from the players' PoV, at least, if not the characters') that's played havoc with the game's already-shaky timeline.

I bet they tried to remove Wade too, but he plays a part in two of the main 20 arcs.

States and Psyche should not have been removed, or if they had to be removed for whatever reason they should have made it to where this didn't cause half a dozen temporal paradoxes.

It would have made for a better thread.

Not that I'm into that sort of thing, I just hate time paradoxes and the less I have to think about them the better.

Yes it's confusing. But It's not new. For example, Angus McQuinn's arc takes place before RWZ, but is higher level, and has been like that for a long time.

When the game first appeared, the game world was static and time progressed through leveling. But the current set of developers have pretty much thrown that out the window, and have gone for a game world in which time advances in tandem with the real world. This inevitably means content becomes out of date, but there simply isn't the resources (not to mention how much QQing happens if content is removed) to update everything to reflect the dynamic game world. So only the most important changes are reflected in changed content. But the Faultline Arc happened in the past, as did the RWZ arc, Darren Wade's arc, and the rest.

So explain the LRSF which is the future.

LRSF has always been an alternate timeline, hasn't it?

And yet, mentions of Statesman and Sister Psyche were removed from Agent G's arc. Thankfully, they didn't just use search-and-replace and have Penelope Yin help herself learn to use her powers.

I recommend watching more Doctor Who, especially series 5 and up. That should explain things.

Technically, they've been dead for nearly two thousand years. Their revelation as "dead" should come as no surprise at all. Cimerora is a lost civilization. Presumably, even before the details of their death were revealed, it is a natural assumption that Imperious and Romulus died at some point in the far distant past. After all, so has everyone else (yes, shocker, everyone and everything that ever existed will die eventually).

Their deaths occur in the future, relative to the position of time that players are active in Cimerora. The Sister Solaris arc takes place after the ITF, and Imperious and Romulus die somewhere after the Sister Solaris. I felt it was implied that Cimerora was already falling even as they died, with their deaths being an attempt - perhaps a misguided one - by Sister Airilia to stave off destruction.

In other words... they die in the future. Just their future is our past.

Time travel can be confusing, can't it?

States and Psyche got chucked into a crack in time when they died.

Wade is still hanging out Redside even though he's staying at Vanguard enjoying all their hospitality currently.

If they're going to retcon things they should at least be consistent about it.

IMPOSSIBLE in a game like this.

When you start dipping your toe into time travel and various areas of your game being in different time lines you are asking for trouble. EDIT: Doubly when you start STUPIDLY removing people/things from storylines that really SHOULD NOT be removed!!!!!
(But people already know my opinions on the retcon mess).

I no longer try to figure out the time line vs the leveling path or the what remains of a consistent storyline. (LMFAO!!!)

I just grin and play the game.

Which is why they shouldn't have retconned States and Psyche.

Do it right (x)or don't do it at all.

Kill them off in Incarnate content. There's Incarnate Shinies there to distract anyone from caring about any inconsistencies and non-incarnates can blissfully ignore them.

Agreed. I didn't even agree with the story 'reason' to killing Psyche off, mostly because it was handled so bloody badly and involved massive catching of the idiot ball.

But the total retcon from level 1 was just...ugh. It was crap, frankly. Not the writing teams finest hour...
