Why do you tease us?!
This thread has no real topic to discuss. Post pictures.
Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.
Market maintenence and new patch in teh same day, and still no sign of Bio Armor/Nature's Affinity?! Why do you tease us sooo.....! *shakes fist*

Patience, young padawan. There's a release schedule in place; we'll get new shinies when the production and marketing teams have agreed that they should be given to us.

You do realize that having just released Water Blast not that long ago, that the odds are rather low that they'll be releasing either Bio Armor or Nature Affinity in the immediate future, right? And that the odds of both sets being released at the same time is even lower than that?

Sorry.. but at least 1 of them should be released before Double XP... if neither are then it's another marketting flop in my book. Double XP + new sets would mean more people returning... but we've seen over and over Marketing seems to NOT want to make as much money for the game as possible.

Power set + Double XP seems to be a good way to get people to burn out. It's not about getting the "maximum money possible", but ensuring a continued revenue stream firstly, and then trying to maximize that revenue stream.

Say they released 1 set. Running that set over double XP doesn't seem like burn out... at most you'll get 1 all theway to 50 then start tinkering with the build. THAT to me is worth more money in buying IO sets and super packs then blowing points on sets I'l played all along. I realize to each his own.. but seriously... it seems with the last few sets they have had them sit on Beta way after they seemed "ready" (IE no major set changes in a while).
To me.. that seems a waste of resources.... If they released both sets next Tuesday.. I know many in the playerbase (me included) who would plonk down an Extra $15 just to get the points to get both sets. You can't tell me thats not making more revenue than 40 point emotes?

Is it not possible that there is a proper release today, but it won't be up until after the market maintence?

They seem quite steady to me.
Each month seems to bring one fairly major new item, plus several cool smaller things buffered by sales on existing stock.

Either way they both seem 'ready', in that it's been a while since the devs tweaked them via beta patch.
They usually do the announcements at the coffee talk anyway, so we're a day ahead of any real news.
Look at it like this.
Double XP is an event in and of itself to bring back players. If they busted out shiny new powersets, which are also used to bring back players, at the same time as Double XP weekend, they'd be out of tools. They'd have nothing big left to motivate old players to come back nor existing players to stick around if they put all their eggs into that one basket.
Whining Player: "Why hasn't there been anything good on the market? It's been, like, ten weeks! We deserve something!"
Paragon Studios: "Well, you asked for all the powersets we had at the same time as double XP weekend. Now we have nothing but enhancements and a few costume sets to give you."
Not to mention they want people to stick around and actually play those new powersets through content for some time. Not grind to 50 and get bored of the character within one day.

That brought me back to an experience I had when I was a child, lol...
My family and I went to Action Park and drove through their wildlife park. We managed to escape the destructive baboons, but we hit some slow traffic near the rhinoceros area. Well, two rhinoceroses were arguing over a water hole (or about DC vs. Marvell, not sure... my Rhinocerese wasn't very good back then). The back and forth got a bit heated between them and, as one charged a bit towards him, the other back pedaled... towards the road.
Not even moving as fast as a trot, the rhino moving backwards smashed into the car directly behind ours! My brother and I, in the backseat, watched in amazement (as my father pulled to the right to get around the car ahead of us). The entire left side of the car behind us was crumpled in. I think it was still drivable and the driver seemed to be okay.
I'll never get that image out of my head... after the rhino dented the side of that car, the driver (a youngish guy, with a female in the passenger seat) just slammed his hand down on the steering wheel exclaiming a curse. Seems a stupid reaction to me too... Umm... drive, fella... you've still got two angry rhinos next to your car... he seemed more worried about the fact that his car just got majorly damaged, lol.
Anyway, more present in my mind was how much damage that rhino did, just by incidentally backing up into that car (I can't remember what kind of car... not a big car, sort of compact, almost like a Volkswagen, but I don't think it was). So much power. Imagine if that rhino really wanted to smash that car intentionally.
So... funny picture!!
