Here's the article over at PC Gamer:

Rad Armor sounds even better now!

"Well, there's going to be some light music and a short note of apology saying, 'The universe ended last week, we're really sorry, we don't know what you're doing here, didn't you get the message?'"- Steve Moffat

Very encouraging!

Rad Armor sounds very similar to Bio Armor...

Resist/Regen/Absorb with debuff based auras.

The question then becomes: What makes them distinct enough from each other to warrant both of them?

One has more green mist.

Aand rad is getting a melee nuke that doubles as a self rez.

Not to derail the thread, but did someone forget to mention that interesting-looking Post-Apocalyptic costume set?

Did you bother to look at the power list? Pretty certain you won't find a nuke that doubles as a rez in bio armor.

It's the first thing they talk about in the article.

Positron: "There are no bugs [in City of Heroes], just varying degrees of features."

The "Who moved my cheese" factor?

Can't say I've heard that one before.

Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.

I hope that the final version of Radiation Armor has power names that make a little more sense instead of any radiation-related vocabulary they could quickly think of at the pummit.

Other than that, looks interesting.

61866 - A Series of Unfortunate Kidnappings - More than a coincidence?
2260 - The Burning of Hearts - A green-eyed monster holds the match.
379248 - The Spider Without Fangs - NEW - Some lessons learned (more or less.)

Ummm, TheDeepBlue.... It's a radiation-based powerset, so it stands to reason that they would use radiation-themed/related names for the powers.

It's really no different than any other power set. Throw out names with the theme, see what sticks.

Or did you think names like 'Hot feet' and 'zapp' took a lot of deliberation?

Radiation Therapy sounds alot like a better version of Dark Regen. I always thought that should have a -Regen component instead of a tiny amount of Negative Energy damage...

For the record, I think that Radiation Blast should've been able to deal Energy/Toxic DoT damage. (I don't know if they could change that now.)

Also, seriously. Look at some of that concept art from the Post-Apocalyptic set: I like that headband on the second guy on the bottom row, the skull chest belt on the first guy on the bottom row, and of course, the bionic bits.

Yes. I read the power list thoroughly. I still wonder if that's going to be enough to differentiate the sets, given just how similar the rest of the powers are.

I have the sudden urge to play vahzilok scientist with a chainsaw....by the way did anyone notice the "peculiar" way asymetrical is spelled?

Not anytime soon, I can tell ya that. If I had to guess, it'd be December-February. We still have Water Blast, Psi Melee, Bio Armor, Nature Affinity, and the new Primalist AT that'll eat up Summer and Fall for monthly releases.

You are fairly optimistic. Considering we don't have even the Sorcery pool power or a new powerset with i23 and we know more leaked powersets then the official player summit reveals. I highly doubt, we see radiation armor within a year or monthly powerset releases.

I still see people asking about the closed DA gate in Talos

We've had semi monthly powerset releases since Freedom launched. I'm pretty sure it'll pick back up next month with the new wave of powersets I named off, which btw were the ones we found out about before the Pummit. So that covers June-November, which is summer through fall, given most of 'em probably only need some graphics tweaking considering the numbers seemed legit. Give 'em an extra month of two for whatever surprises they may have and that lands us in January through I'd say March territory for this new Rad Armor. Bam.

Sorry I didn't do tons of research before making an estimate based on memory. I'll make sure not to repeat that mistake in the future.

When Radiation blast was made, we didn't have toxic damage.

Wait... was more released about Bio-Armor than the names of the powers? Where?

Vahz didn't do it? It's been a while. Or was that just the "untyped" mystery damage at that point?

*or spines?

Vaz vomit used to be untyped (i.e. overpowered). Spines used to be lethal.

I really should do something about this signature.
