  1. So it sounds more like a combination of "When you hit whirling smash" and "When you have enough attacks to rebuild it without much problem." (And I can see SOs helping, yeah.)

    I shall press on! Thanks.

    How's Dark/Psi?

Since we've had dark out for a bit, and this combo I think will fit a character I have in mind - how's leveling with dark/psi? Any gotchas or particularly rough patches to know about? Tight build or lots of room to experiment?

If you *don't* like the concept, which you obviously don't, and don't agree with not min-maxing, which you obviously don't, why do you keep disrupting the thread other than to get attention like a five year old? Why do you insist on putting down the people who are interested with comments like the above? It's not "joking," it's not "cute" or "funny." If you don't like it, ignore the thread.

Also, don't assume people with access to khelds have access to the invention system. People can purchase the unlock early. We've had people who had khelds unlocked before keep them when going to premium but not have their inventions. (I've got a friend in this situation, came back to the game - they're on SOs, but their 'main' is their PB. All they work with are SOs and HOs.)

The market is so incredibly easy to use and things that were once hard to get are now so accessible, you could spent 5-10 minutes a day working towards a mid-ranged build and finish it in a month or less.
It doesn't matter if it's "easy to use," etc, if someone doesn't like dealing with that part of the game. If they don't like that part of the game, they're not going to want to deal with it. It's that simple. Talking down to someone because they don't like the things you do doesn't make anyone respect you or your opinion.

I mean, how many posts did you make putting people down in this thread before you - I have to say "grudgingly" finally made that last post that actually has some useful information in it?

Also, I'd like to thank Fireheart and everyone else actually helping out in here. This is more useful than you might think.
  4. Sorry if the title appears like a loaded question. I just haven't been able to get anywhere with my TW brute.

For me it's all the feel of the set at low level - the "ugh, ugh, gotta lug this around, swing, ugh...oh now I'm fast! No, wait, now I'm trying to lift weights again."

It's kind of like Dual Pistols and the "Quit throwing your guns around and shoot the guy already" for me.

So, simple question - is there a specific level or power (or slotting of a power) that's going to minimize this to where I don't notice it? I know Build Momentum does, but is this going to be a case where I have to build for a ton of recharge to keep the nice, fast pace going for the most part?

(Yes, I completely admit not getting one out of low levels mostly because of that feel.)

About the only people that would be upset over that would be those that like lording the exclusives over others. Is that really the type of customer you want to foster?
TL;DR : We WANT to give you money! Let us do so for cool stuff! (Well, more cool stuff.) Don't keep cool, otherwise available stuff away!
  6. Ms. Liberty. Managing to get a paramilitary force OK'd, deploying it to attack not only the citizens of a foreign country (where she has no authority) but people in her own city (since when is the appropriate response to a baseball bat or dagger a minigun or flamethrower?) and not have anyone bat an eye.

That's what I'm saying, really. I guess it didn't come out like I wanted.

If it's "Twitter first, three/six months later it'll show up in the store," hey, I'm cool with that. "Twitter only!" (or even "And we may show up on a server," which they do on occasion, or even a meet-and-greet,) then no, I am NOT fine with it. Not in the least.

It was bad enough with the costume overlays like the freak tank and such, but even THOSE, for the most part, you can get to play with for a while during the halloween event.

    This?

Why, Paragon, do you not want to (a) make a loyal customer happy and (b) take more of my money? I mean, this annoyed me enough to break out of my "ignore the forums and just have fun" I've been doing lately!
  8. If this is a Twitter-only costume piece promotion (saying "we might, maybe, sometime pop up unannounced on a server to maybe give these away" still means Twitter only,) then I'm disappointed.

I don't mind if this is "exclusive" for a little while, and then shows up in the store or via incarnate merits or something like that. But 100% twitter only = 100% non-participation and 100% IRRITATION (and some loss of good will and enjoyment... that same good will and enjoyment that leads to me staying subbed and spending money) for me.

Anyway, I was hoping to have a discussion here. Lots of interesting theories but no official word etc. Unless an NC Soft rep actually chimes in, we cannot say for certain what is happening with policy.

I will admit I am disappointed with NC but it is only a game. My sub ends soon and I don't think I will be staying VIP. This naming non-sense along with tier 9 VIP rewards and the blah issues (they seem very uninteresting lately) have me debating the move.
Sounds more like you were looking for people to pat you on the back and tell you it's all right, that NC is a bunch of meanies picking on you while you cried in your beer.

If "this naming non-sense" (IE, "I can't keep ripping off other peoples names" - after all, you've said you have had not just one, but several genericed characters) is enough to make you leave, you're just looking for an excuse.

Don't. If you're that burned out or uninterested, just go. Why keep yourself somewhere you're not enjoying yourself?
  10. The "Who moved my cheese" factor?

Can't say I've heard that one before.
  11. Hey, just looked at Luck Charms. They went from around 50 k to... 150-350k. How's that "Fill the market and make them cheaper" working out for you?

(Works out great when I list them at 6 and get that, by the way. My lowbies are quite happy to sell them and get that.)

Are you looking at the manufacturer's pics or one of the actual cases? Since the manufacturer pics of the CM690 don't show the loop. (I was looking before, and I doubt they have some with loops and some that are loopless)

Also, I've got another case (the ultra or something, cheap case) that has provision for it but doesn't have it installed - I don't remember right now if it was loose in the box or not. Some of the locks I see replace case screws, too (or have some other way in.)

    http://www.tryten.com/categories/Sec...er-Case-Locks/ - a few varieties.
http://www.directron.com/1320380.html - replaces case screw. Doesn't tie to desk, though.

So don't worry too much about the case ITSELF not having a lock.

(I looked because of fairly big periods away on occasion, and the house isn't really zombie apocalypse proof.)

  14. Wait, he was serious?

Man, the last "social interactions" I've had with other players in Wents was using the /ignorespammer command.
  15. No. The badges for some of them are enough for ganking greys.

    100% pure Columbian lol.

Seriously. We've gone from "Pay or no play" to "Don't pay and get most of the game, or pay and get a few nice things on top of it." Premium doesn't need a boost.

That way preemies are still restricted from creating SGs/granting bases to SGs who don't have them, but existing supergroups are not required to look outside their ranks for a veep to keep the power on.
Hmm. I kind of like that idea. The SG has to be active enough to make the prestige/salvage/etc to make the thing in the first place, it's convenient for everyone (I hate having to duck back to Atlas or Oakes to pay rent, honestly, even with the market teleporter) and it's something that's been asked for on and off for a long time.

/gives Agg cookies for great solution.

    And what does that mean?

Yeah. Obviously I'm "portraying VIPs as bad guys." Because obviously all VIPs are in terror of having their status "diminished" ... except, of course, that I'm VIP and arguing in favor of this. Sheer genius. I think the squirrel needs to cut down on his drinking. He's messing with your mind.

My issue is with people who think opening things to other people - that they have to pay for separately - somehow "diminishes" them, and so they want to lock as much away behind their "special" status as possible and fight tooth and nail for every inch, no matter how it would be convenient for others *or* make Paragon Studios money to keep developing more stuff for the game.

I mean, c'mon, he's arguing that nobody but "special" people should be able to pay rent (no matter how that's controlled by the individual supergroups, so even the "special" VIPs may not be able to.) Does it really, *really* hurt him that someone else can - *gasp!* - click on the registrar to keep the base powered? That's SO detrimental to the game?

Honestly, if he were talking about editing vs not editing, I'd have a little more sympathy. It's more involved. It's the sort of thing that would be seen as a privilege. And I actually *could* see that getting stuck behind VIP as a perk (as it is, IIRC, a Premium with the right rights or level can edit still.) But *paying rent?* Really?
  19. This is true. I kind of jumped ahead - I end up using that as a visual cue on my MMs since most of the time mine are in defensive anyway, and I use it to tell if they (or I) will be getting any benefit (me out of bodyguard, them out of supremacy.)

It's just become linked with being "in bodyguard" in my mind after all this time, I suppose.

More visibility wouldn't be bad. I don't think I want something big hovering over them though.
  21. lol@healers

Give me someone that plays a good empath any day and knows it's not just rocking the aura and rezzing.
  22. It was OK. Scenery was the best part. I expected Wade-a-lulu there to be more of a fight. And yeah, some of this was just sloppy and felt rushed. But it sounds like they know that and arent' in a rush to put out something like this this fast again. Hopefully they'll go in and fix and fill in stuff. I doubt it, given their history, but I can hope.

So when do we get the space station?

  24. They already have one, as I remember. Open the pet window, open the indicator to the side, and you'll see the little bodyguard icon when they're in range. I wouldn't argue with making it stand out more, though.
