Suggestion: Visual Indicator For Bodyguard

Occasionally I'll be doing things with my mastermind and become unsure of the state of bodyguard. Whether its mixed tactics between the pets or a command for one or all that might affect bodyguard.

I'd like to suggest a visual indicator that bodyguard is functioning even if its only the word "bodyguard" under the buff bar (much like the word "hidden" appears for stalkers)

Its a small change but a visual indicator is just a nice QoL feature to have.

I am all for a visual indicator! If not a word under status, then an icon in the pet's buff list, perhaps a different color version of the supremacy icon.

I don't play MasterMinds often but I like this idea too. Especially since their base health is so low, it's a pretty big deal to know if you're passing damage along to your minions. If it were in icon form it could tell you how many parts of the damage you're passing along since minions aren't always in the same distance as you.

That would be awesome to have. It's frustrating to have to juggle micromanagement (buffs, pets, damage, healing etc.) AND making sure you're actually in bodyguard. +1 to your idea.

They already have one, as I remember. Open the pet window, open the indicator to the side, and you'll see the little bodyguard icon when they're in range. I wouldn't argue with making it stand out more, though.


Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.

i play mm all the time and i have NEVER seen a body guard indicator in the powers list

i would be for adding something to show bodyguard though, something akin to the desdemona symbol in the underground trial, but use a shield instead and put the shield over the pets and not you

More visibility wouldn't be bad. I don't think I want something big hovering over them though.

I'd like to see a more easily noticeable indicator like stalkers have with the "Hidden" text that shows up under the buff bar.

A generic buff icon like what shows up on the pet windo is just too easily lost amidst other buffs and frankly... I am sure many players collapse the buff bar cause it eats up valuable screen space.

That's Supremacy, the MM inherent.

Bodyguard is a separate effect, and depends on more than just how far away a pet is (it also requires a specific attack mode).

as aggelakis says as well, thats telling you if pets are in supremacy range or not, and has nothing to do with what mode pets are in

This is true. I kind of jumped ahead - I end up using that as a visual cue on my MMs since most of the time mine are in defensive anyway, and I use it to tell if they (or I) will be getting any benefit (me out of bodyguard, them out of supremacy.)

It's just become linked with being "in bodyguard" in my mind after all this time, I suppose.

Maybe a small shield over the heads of the pets that are in bodyguard mode/range? A text alert like hidden might be nice, but it could also be nice to see which pets are actually in range.

That or some sort of indicator in the actual pet window near the health bar? not something you'd have to expand their buffs list to see, because on a team it would just get lost in the huge list of buffs.

It's also true that the pets in that shot are definitely NOT in bodyguard mode, as they are set to passive. Bodyguard requires the pet to be in defensive stance and either follow, goto, or stay. And in supremacy range.

I would love to see a Bodyguard icon in my buff bar, complete with the option to make it Numeric Stacking.

I would not mind seeing small icons over my henchmen's heads indicating when/if they are in Bodyguard status.


Check out the Repeat Offenders network of SGs! You'll be glad you did.

If you turn on advanced pet controls (take note Stormbird) you will see what mode they are in and then the supremacy icon will tell you if it's applying.
