Do -you- want to see Praetorian Hamidon go down?

Pretty simple question. Praetoria has been, for all intents and purposes, dismantled with the coming Magisterium Trial. We set out to take down Cole's empire and we basically have. Praetoria's storyline is winding down and the Devs are boxing the place up and putting a ribbon on it before we get to take on the Battalion.

It seems there might be hints that with Cole out of the picture, Hamidon might just chill and enjoy having a whole world to himself. These could be dead -wrong- of course and the devs have said we'll see aftereffects and probably some wrap up come I24, but that doesn't necessarily mean we'll see Praetorian Hami go down.

What do you want to happen? Cole is going to be gone, should we just kick praetoria to the curb as the failed experiment it's apparently turned into? Or do you want to see us cut the head off the beast that caused the whole mess to begin with, that's apparently bigger, badder, and scarier than our giant amoeba?

Personally I'm going to be incredibly disappointed if we never see Praetorian Hami. There've been plenty of hints since Going Rogue what a monstrously scary critter he is. We got our first taste of how different the Praetorian Devouring Earth are in the Underground Trial, bloated and corrupted with spores and having an altogether much more fungal and/or alien appearance, topped off with the Avatar of Hamidon. Not to mention the giant Seed trying to spread the Devouring Earth's influence in First Ward.

So ya, I want to take it down. And maybe see a DE controlled 35-50 Praetorian zone >>

If anyone's ever talked to me in the game for more than five minutes, it's probably no surprise that I love Praetoria. It's what brought me back to the game after losing interest over the years I've played it. The apparent aftermath of the Magisterium Trial is incredibly disappointing to me, and I hope not all is as it seems.

That being said, I'd like to take on the Praetorian Hami someday, but I also hope it's not right away either. Considering it's been built up more than Emperor Cole at this point, it should stay in the background for a bit longer. It should be a considerable threat.

But yeah, I think we definitely have to fight it at some point. To just ignore it at this point would be doing all the build up a huge disservice.

yes, very much so. I still am hoping that he is where we would have the best chance of getting a zone with giant flora and dinosaurs, given his whole reverting the earth back to pre-human thing. so yeah, hoping for a zone or more with a big throw down.

Well for all the hints they been doing they might as well now.

Tentacles and roaring coming from outside the sonic barrier, the posters, the whole damn UG trial.

If only to once and for all put a cap on Praetoria and go "Yup, you've defeated all the big bads there, you're done, now we get to move on from that and do something else."

As much as I've grown to detest the new writing atleast it would be proper closure for Praetoria.

I see Hamidon as the True Final Boss (you know, that one which is only accessible after you've completed the game, is sort of related to the story and always much harder than the final boss) of Praetoria plus I actually want to see what an evolved Hamidon would look like.

I'd like to see not one more Praetoria story in the game, so no.

I don't think there's much reason to go up against it right now. With Cole out of the way, Praetorian Hami isn't much of a threat to Primal Earth... assuming Prometheus is right, anyway. Going back to Praetoria to finish of an enemy that isn't really a threat to us when we have the Battalion knocking on our door doesn't make much tactical sense. But that doesn't mean we'll never go back to revisit it.

- Once the Battalion starts losing ground to us (they'll likely be winning at first, but of course we'll be the ones who win in the end) they might start looking for new "weapons" to use against us. Opening a big portal and letting Praetorian Hami onto Primal Earth would probably be a very effective tactic.

- Once Tyrant goes down we're going to have a lot a refugees from Praetoria... most of them will likely end up becoming villain groups, too. There will probably be a few people who would be a bit upset with Primal Earth for just abandoning Praetoria to the Hamidon, and decide to take matters into their own hands. They could easily open up a huge can of worms that we end up needing to deal with.

- Maybe nothing happens during the war the with Battalion, and we just decide to go back to Praetoria and mop up once all the major fighting is over (mainly because those Resistance folk are really starting to smell. It's like they PREFER to bathe in sewage or something!). Going back to Praetoria after leaving it alone for a while, we may just learn that leaving the Hamidon to his own devices on an otherwise abandoned planet may not have been the best idea after all...

I'd like to see it but I don't think it can be done successfully.

It doesnt have to be a Praetorian story, it would just involve the thing that ate Praetoria. I was hoping that they do a bizzare story and merge Cole with Hami and make a Hami-Cole!

But, like JFP said, id like it to be a while before we get there. Would be nice if the Battallion come and get their **** kicked by us, then Hami comes back. Having eaten its way through Praetoria, its come looking for more food or even a mate with our hami! BABY HAMIS!

With the amount of things Portal corp have been opening and closing, there has to be one place hami can smash its way through.

But yes, I REALLY hope Hami comes back one day. It would be nice to have a big bad that is actually worthy of the title.

They've built up Praetorian Hamidon's threat, it would seem a waste to not revisit him.

I like your idea of a Level 35+ Devouring Earth zone complete with special contacts, like the Rikti War Zone. Include Hamidon as an iTrial or a Task Force, or task force-like series of missions that are soloable (like Faultline's or RWZ's last arc) or both! Toss in a zone event of some kind and a contact that grants repeatable missions.

One zone could put the cap on the Praetoria story too, and give a sense of closure. Then we could move forward with Battalion.

It's a giant monster that almost wiped out mankind in another dimension AND went toe-to-tentacle with Emperor Cole and came out ahead. Yeah, I want to see Praetorian Hamidon get beat up. I only have one question about it left... Does it have stats?

Because if it has stats, we can kill it.

I'd like to seen an entire zone built around him, much like the new Dark Astoria is built around Mot. Make it like the RWZ. Cap it off with a TF similar to the ITF (levels 35-50, lots to kill) that ends with re-containing the threat for now. Finally, an iTrial where you take it down for good.

You forget all the refugees coming from Praetorian Earth. They pose a big social problem for Primal Earth. But with Praetorian Hami taken down they could return and start to rebuild their planet.

I really should do something about this signature.

No.

I want to see Praetorian Hami win.

Our involvement should be rescue operations and/or scavenging high-tech equipment, because the war is lost and Praetoria will be a no-go zone.

So, if Praetorian Hami came to Primal Earth, how would Primal Hami react?

1. They become friends/allies.
2. Instant hatred of each other.
3. They form a gelatinous mass, the likes of which haven't been seen since my one aunt brought her special jello salad to the family picnic?

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

Apparently it was asked and they'd share protoplasm and kind of merge. Which would be a Very Bad Thing.

See, I'd -like- the Devs to actually touch on the refugees as a problem but I have a feeling that, most likely, they're just going to be swept under the rug except to pull out a surviving Praetorian main when needed for the storyline and the masses will ultimately be forgotten or something like "Vanguard has set up a colony in a secure location" (That we will never ever see).

I'd want to see Praetorian Hamidon invade the Shadow Shard. A full on fight between him and Rularuu that has the potential to unravel the multiverse.

And, as usual, something that big should turn out to be a Nemesis plot.

No. Just no.

Anyway, I hope we do fight the Praetorian Hamidon and finish it, and the Praetorian storyline properly. I do kinda hope that we have a chance to help rebuild civilization on Praetorian Earth (A democratic society, of course!). Perhaps there can be some resistance put up with some few remaining pro-Cole elite Powers Division fanatics?

Well, I think that's part of the problem. Praetoria would never really -end-. I mean not without the planet being raised or the like. Even beating up Hamidon there's still picking up the pieces after and I sadly just don't think the Devs are going to try to deal with it. It really feels like the direction we're going is "Cole is gone, we'd better OH NO BATTALION" And Praetoria is left to quietly collect dust.
