That's because TFs had a head start of several years - they need to build up the Trial selection to match the TF selection, and then pass it.
Plus, TFs are like an extra for the standard 1-50 mission content - but the Trials are the standard 50+ content.

It does make you wonder what's going to happen to some of the signature characters that have developed out of this storyline (that have survived to this point). We've got Praetorian Penny, Aurora, and Calvin Scott, Metronome, Dominatrix, and Desdemona as the new Carnival of Light Mistress. Can't really just make these characters disappear. At least, I'd hope not >>

You say that like it is a good thing. There is a sizable fraction of the playerbase that disagrees.

I, personally, am in the fraction of the playerbase that is happy to just never hear about Praetoria ever again. However well written it was, overall, it was a horrible story.

The Battalion are an incarnate race who eat Wells and enslave and burn Kheldians as fuel for their starships - it's unlikely that they can be stopped by a lone hero or even a duo

It's the largest and most complex storyline in the game, and CoH would be worse off without it.

But there's alrewasy a lot of 1.-50 content, so the 50+ part of the game needs to be increased more.
