So... any Mecha Armor Screen Shots?
That's 6 new powersets a year. Or 3 new powersets and 6 new costume sets a year. You have control over how you spend those points. Points you get for just simply subscribing to the game.
|
And since i get tokens for subscribing, they are not exactly free. So, I pay a subscription and then pay more money on top of that; sweet deal for somebody... not for me though.
If you're already tier 9, you don't have anything to add to this conversation.
|
I sure do get points for subscribing; and these items cost more than 400 points at a swipe, which is my entire point puns not intended.

Seriously, where's the guy with the bit in his signature about how people would whine if the game printed 20s that they weren't sequential serial numbers?

I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30)) Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.
I'm positive it's not Beam Rifle because his right hand is empty, and even if the image is reflected, it's not being held the way a Beam Rifle would be.
I'm nearly positive it's a Katana. |
Moving forward, and ClockworkO1 can confirm this or correct me, all sword like objects will be built on the Titan Weapons measurements. This allows them to be easily scaled for use with all Sword types.

The Mecha armor is designed for VIP players that have played for a long time, or are spending a lot of money. This is completely unfair because the set will be gone soon, and very few people, especially in this economy, can afford to instantly become Tier 9 elites.
|
Also, I have a hard time calling 6+ months 'soon'. That's just me though and it's admittedly not nearly long enough to get to T9 just from subscription time alone (for someone who's only T4 or so).

If this does not seem like a "haha, you're poor" stunt by NCSoft, what would?

WHY!!! Are you complaining? Because Mecha armor will be gone...eventually? Mecha armor *ISN'T EVEN HERE*! It's one thing to not like where certain options are located (some don't like the elemental order set being in super packs and that's a *REALLY* nice set!) but things need to be somewhere and vets expressed a desire for something meaningful to replace their special rewards when free-to-play was on the horizon.
If you want to complain at someone, complain at the vets who wanted it. The devs simply do what the players want.
Heck, some vets didn't even want an *option* for non-vets to get their junk...only locked behind time but the devs thought better of that. Be happy there's another way to obtain the stuff. You don't have to have the entire set the instant it releases...most VIP vets won't, after all.
Before this escalates:
All Tier 9 VIP costume sets will eventually be available through a method that is not the Paragon Rewards tree.
Yes, I understand that means you can't have them now unless you're Tier 9 and VIP.
Yes, I understand that some consider this a openhanded strike to the frontal cranial region.
We've never shied away from the fact that we're going to reward our long term players, and prior to Freedom, if you weren't a long term Vet, later Rewards were well out of reach or...well there wasn't an or...that was it. Now, there is the option to move up the tree more rapidly. It's understandable that this isn't a viable option for everyone (my wife would smack me upside the head if I dropped $200.00 at once for a game...however when I space it out she's none the wiser ), however it is an option.
I will certainly pass along the sentiment of the frustrated individuals.
Thanks

Mecha Armor pic 1: "IT'S A GUNDAM!!"
Mecha Armor pic 2: EVA 02? |
Yes, the second picture looks close to the EVA 02.
The 3rd one looks like it came from a Sentai Force/ Power Rangers show.
There's a rifle, pistol, claws (hand blades) and all swords option. (not sure if there's a mace or axe in there, sorry guys).

I'm just wondering as the next token I get will be put into 1 of the t9 sets so it could alter my decision as to which one. Like some of the t9 slots have more pieces that I want than others, and some of the slots have just a single piece that I want, but I /really/ want that piece, but it would probably be easier to buy that piece from the paragon market if that is what is going to happen.

Do we know anything about what said method would be? I assume it would most likely be the paragon market, but potentially something else?

Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?
A: You crash into another one.

I think the work done on the Celestial pack was amazing. The mech pack looks cool (depending on the amount of pieces it contains). I am actually sickened that I have no chance of getting either now or in the near future. Honestly, the costume creator was one of the few things I still really enjoy in this game. Not having 2 sets I have been asking for since...well...i12...it is too much. I am debating the rage quit scenario.
I can't believe these 2 packs are put out in this fashion and we get a mutant pack and this other so so stuff over the last while? Really? The Carnival pack was OK but had few pieces and mostly for women (pass). The CoT pack was solid but you didn't include that cool looking back piece? Seriously. WTF. Are you guys trying to piss off the paying customers here?
"I can't have it NAO!" means NCSoft is punishing them.
"I can't have it free without using my PP stipend!" means NCSoft is stripmining their bank accounts.
"I can't have everything that long-time players are getting as special rewards!" means NCSoft is insulting them and making them feel like patsies.
The foul odor of entitlement that comes wafting from people who think the world owes them every privilege and every benefit for no extra effort or cost continues to astound me. If this is all it takes for NCSoft to lose a their subscription, then I dare say they were bound to lose it at some point anyway, for any number of completely innocuous reasons. Keeping such players "happy" is usually more costly, business-wise, than they are worth.
NOR-RAD - 50 Rad/Rad/Elec Defender - Nikki Stryker - 50 DM/SR/Weap Scrapper - Iron Marauder - 50 Eng/Eng/Pow Blaster

The people who have Tier 9 have either been paying for this game for several years or have put in a couple hundred dollars in points to buy their way up the ladder. It's also only available to VIPs, who by definition are paying at least $10-15 a month, so the 7-year player who dropped to premium as soon as Freedom launched can't have it.
Sure looks like they're rewarding paying customers to me.

So, yeah, thanks for your comments I am sure you can guess what I think of them
In any case if you honestly like this 'relic' of a game, and judging by your expressed willingness to spend reasonable amounts of money on it you do to at least some extent, is it really such a terrible, horrible thing that you won't get immediate access to one costume set that you want?
As an aside ... Futurias I don't know that I'd ever call three years 'fast'.
