Now I'm wondering if my unspent tokens can be used for it, or if Paragon's going to make me sub for a month to be able to spend those tokens.

YES.

I can FINALLY break my overwhelming compulsion to put Imperial Defense boots on EVERY character I make.

(Previously an overwhelming compulsion to put Enforcer Heavy Boots on EVERY character I made).

The whole idea behind the T9 VIP reward tier is that you need to be a VIP to put your slots there.

Also, I saw the set briefly when it was posted on the boards the other day, but those pictures still look pretty dang awesome.

Maybe it's the color schemes used in the pictures but *shrugs* a bit "meh" to me.

I like the wings (and the sword) though.

....Remember back when we were told we were going "free to play," and that people who remained VIP would be "taken care of" and "will be treated right"? I sure do.

This ENTIRE chainmail/armor set should be free to VIPs. All of it.

As far as the Mech set, interesting and I have someone who might use parts of that. Nice. But I don't call a set purchasable with tokens every six months or so, the VIP playerbase being "treated right." Perhaps that is just me.

I will find much use for those parts. I actually thought the ones that were put on the boards were even better pics. I hope now that Massively has had their exclusive that Paragon will give us some better shots.

Also now that Zwill made that post that almost had my cry tears of joy, I will comment on the chain.

For years now I have been looking for that good chest option to go under robes, or the roman armor to get the Chain Mail look. It is now very cool that I will have just what I need.

My Tenchu look can be complete, as well as several other costumes.

The leather is still kinda...meh. But it may look better once I actually see it in game and what I can do with it in costumes.

Also, sorry for all the angst Zwill. :/

I like the chain mail, and am not actually all that interested in the Black Knight armor. I have a bunch of people who can use that chain mail though.... Its just the idea that we VIPs are going to have to shell out.... AGAIN.

That armor belt BETTER be in there if we are paying for the set, just saying. So tired of costume set bait and switch.... "Like that belt and shoulders, do you? HAHAHA YOU LOSE! *snatches the best pieces out*"

I can't tell what BI is moaning about, the Free for ViP chainmail costume or that he may get the chance to spend his monthly stipend on the Black Knight pieces sometime in the future.

I haven't played Beam Rifle seriously yet, so I'm not familiar with the animations, but that looks more like a sword stance than a gun stance.

Either way, new weapon models of any kind are always awesome.

I'm positive it's not Beam Rifle because his right hand is empty, and even if the image is reflected, it's not being held the way a Beam Rifle would be.

I'm nearly positive it's a Katana.

As a ViP you get 400pts a month (minimum) to spend on what you want. That's 12 costume sets or 6 new powersets a year. Everyone who has been subscribed to this game since Freedom has been released has been rewarded around 4400 points. That's a lot of new costume sets or new powersets that you get to keep using even when you stop subscribing.

Some people need to take a minute, think about all the new things they got with their 4000pts and wonder if the Devs really are asking ViPs to pay through the nose.

I sure am glad I stopped subbing, because believe me, seeing the one set I've wanted since I started playing be set as exclusive to those who either A) Have been playing for years, or B) Shelled out +$250, would make me unsub in a heartbeat.

Fact: I want the mecha armor, I can think of very few people in this game who wouldn't.

Fact: NCSoft just basically gave the finger to anyone who isn't a VIP that pays more for extra tokens, each costume piece costing FIFTEEN DOLLARS.

I could buy some REAL clothes for that.
