The Mecha armor is designed for VIP players that have played for a long time, or are spending a lot of money. This is completely unfair because the set will be gone soon, and very few people, especially in this economy, can afford to instantly become Tier 9 elites. If this does not seem like a "haha, you're poor" stunt by NCSoft, what would?

If you're already tier 9, you don't have anything to add to this conversation.

You only say that because you're on the inside of the Patrician bubble, looking out.

They can do that and still sell it as a $10 costume pack to other players like they used to do. I'd buy that, maybe even go to $15 if it makes them happy ($20 if there's light/heavy types)

but this? This is just insulting, on an entirely new level. This is the stuff that Playfish, makers of Farm Town and Pet Society pull.

I can understand being upset about Tier 9 VIP in general. I sympathize with not being in a position to obtain costume sets. But not caring about Tier 9 VIP until a set comes along you like? Yeah, that's wanting what you like to be free.
I cared about it for a long time, and I even said that it was going to be used to screw over people that are just now getting into this relic of a game, I was right. I'm just not as vocal as other people, but I saw this coming a mile away and it was only a matter of time. Part of my guild quit when Phoenix came out for the 3 year vets or super rich only, and they were right. Don't assume I just came out of the blue with this, and I already proved I was willing to pay for the costume set, just not the pathetic price NCSoft is wanting. It's a sad day when Cryptic offers me a better deal than NCSoft, but now it's here.

I'm sorry that you failed your "sense motive" check, try putting more points into intelligence. I indicated that I was a VIP at one point. I wouldn't mind buying the set, but at +$200 (to get the rest of the tokens) PLUS an extra $45-60 to get the set before it's gone, that's pathetic. I wouldn't mind if it was free for VIP either, as I'm only not a VIP because I can't play enough at the moment. I was going to re-sub for the summer, but now, screw it.

Unless you were to spend tokens on crap like the "summon statesman" charges, you'd have stored up plenty by now.

Unless, of course, you're not at the tier 9, which I forgot about.

    Nevermind!
I was about tier 3, maybe going into 4, I forget.

Side-Note: Please tell me people don't spend tokens on Summon Satesman...Ghosts make horrible companions.

A slap in the face is less insulting.
  7. I sure am glad I stopped subbing, because believe me, seeing the one set I've wanted since I started playing be set as exclusive to those who either A) Have been playing for years, or B) Shelled out +$250, would make me unsub in a heartbeat.

Fact: I want the mecha armor, I can think of very few people in this game who wouldn't.

Fact: NCSoft just basically gave the finger to anyone who isn't a VIP that pays more for extra tokens, each costume piece costing FIFTEEN DOLLARS.

I could buy some REAL clothes for that.
  8. Here, dunno why it didn't post the chunk before.

    Thanks everyone for the builds!
  10. That's exactly why, in my first post, I said I had no idea what I'm doing. To be honest I was just posting that as a way of showing I really have no idea what I'm doing.

Also if it would be better to swap defensive with a damage set, then maybe I should consider not getting it and picking up another power from the pools?

I've also considered just rolling Willpower, if Fire's going to end up useless.
  11. I speant a few hours working on this build, and it probably shows my lack of experience but...here goes. I know about the 5% Recharge enhancement cap, but am unsure how to fix it without buying purples.

  12. Problem: I know squat all about builds and always end up confused and frustrated.

Solution: Ask nicely for some help in the Build Workshop forums to see if some build experts can lend me a hand.

I'm a Scrapper that's looking for a good PvE build that uses Titan and Fire Aura. Right now my level of killing power is next to nothing, and I'm sure it's because I haven't IOed yet (or really know how to play period x_x) Problem is, I also have no idea what I'm doing in Mids and always come up with odd builds. I was hoping I could get some help (I know how to import into mids properly). The only thing I can honestly say is that I want to be able to PvE very well, and I would like to have Fly (preferably Afterburner). Oh and I have no luck so I'm not likely to be able to afford purples. I would greatly appreciate the assistance.
  13. Actually I've got a pet peeve with Titan weapons: They're left handed...

Nothing wrong with being a lefty, but my character is right handed RP-wise...
  14. Bit off topic: Anyone else chuckle a bit when they thought of making Titan/Shield? (I know you can't, but it made me chuckle just a bit)
  15. Okay so Willpower or Invuln.

I have lots of experience with Willpower, and the end-regen is great with the IOs I have, but I was just making sure that I wasn't missing anything.

Thanks, and thanks in advance to others
  16. Okay, so aside from the cheesiest title ever...

I'm stuck on a good Titan build. Originally I'm BS/WP (which I'm loving) but wouldn't mind something a bit flashier. I'm also a holy warrior based RPer, so while I'm not up to date on the technical aspects, I would appreciate both an RP and technical reason for picking my secondary, if it's okay.

Currently I'm tossed up between...all of them except Dark/Shield.

What I need is survivability, I'm figuring Titan Weapons will give me plenty of damage, but I figure it'll be a heavy stamina drain.

EDIT: Okay now tossed up between Willpower and Invuln
  17. Okay, my friend loves being ranged, but now wants to try guns instead of bows. If they delete their character, is the slot gone too? I've tried searching for the answer, but all I hear is "you get two slots" which I know. So can they re-roll or are they stuck using up their other slot?
  18. Oh...didn't think of that, thanks.

Once you selected a character, it would, of course, switch to the appropriate color scheme and artwork.

With the release of Freedom, that flag was deprecated and everyone has the same login screen and character selection screen unless you have done something to customize them. Technically speaking, that's not really something is supported or encouraged by NCSoft/Paragon. Mainly because the development of the methods for doing it required reverse engineering the compression used in the game files, which is proprietary. That reverse engineering is a clear violation of the EULA. Last I heard, the developers still frown on the use of PIGG viewers and similar utilities.
Well yeah, like I said, I don't wanna break any rules. Oh well
  20. Okay, sooo maybe it's because I haven't been around as long, but I'm not a big fan of the music when I log-in. I much prefer the original and was wondering if there's any way to swap the two? I know other games it's a simple .ini edit, but I couldn't find it.

    It's not a deal breaker just...it's meh.

EDIT: It dawned on me, I should probably mention that the INI edits were considered okay by their respective companies. I want to do this without breaking any rules.

    AE RP House?

After trying my darndest to get something remotely close, I cannot find a house-type AE map. Any ideas? I'm stuck. This is strictly for RP (not the weird stuff either, just normal RP)
  23. Got my points but no token, don't really care about server transfer.

1: All that you listed? Not something Premium players think they'll really need.

2: What free player is going to look at a $45 for chat and think "Hmm, $45 for global chat or should I buy the new game coming out?"

Whether there are lots of crap between the chat level or not, it's still $45, which is not going to rake in a whole lot of people. If it was an item on the shop on the other hand, that would get their attention. "$10 for a spare custom chat channel? Sweet!" 5 times is better than "I'll just save up for Skyrim" will ever be to Paragon. Trust me, the only people right now that will be getting chat as premium are those that will slowly save up for it.

So if you needed the "show me how Paragon gets to milk more" argument, that's it.

3: Blame RMT one more time, come on, at least TRY and make my day. $5 gets mail/tells. RMT is the least of the issues in a custom channel since they can be silenced in seconds. Need I also mention that there is a credit card that need be used for buying said points?
