I've subscribed since 2005. I think that if you want the set, you will have choices to make: Subscribe, buy up the tree (which I disagree with to an extent), or wait for the undisclosed future means of getting the parts.
Oh, and I'll probably have to wait for a month or two to get the complete set because I don't have any spare Paragon Tokens at the moment, and I don't think I'll be buying points any time soon.

I am quite impressed with the details and amount of options being provided!
I wish my four+ years of subscription were enough to have earned these, but I'll likely get them eventually.
There's a whole collection of costume sets with a level of options, within the VIP Tier 9, that we're not really seeing elsewhere. And it is indeed impressive.

"Sorry, but you will have to wait an undefined amount of time to finish your set" doesn't exactly sit well with me.
The only downside to putting it on the market is "what is a sensible cost for the costume pieces".
If we are going by, what i can gather from the forums, that the Paragon Reward Token is *just purely an extra* on top of your subscription fee, and that it isnt worth $15/£10.20/£8.99/12.99/14.40 then i would be expecting a cost of around 600-1200 Paragon Points to cover the entire Celestial Set on the market.
So, it would cost more than a normal costume set (which i would expect), and still fall within the realm of "this is about as expensive as they can sell a costume set for without being lynched".

How is that upsetting to the player base? o.O I'd think that'd be great for those who aren't tier 9.

Tier 9 VIP just became "YOU GET IT FIRST!" for a few sets. Then it sounds like they may rotate them out so one can get them through VIP Tier 9 later, as well as alternate means.
My guess is they'll likely release the set sporadicly as a sale item. Kinda like some IO sets come and go on the market.
