Has anyone ever been inside an actual police station?

Because I'm pretty sure that they do not have the sirens running 24/7. I mean, I'm not positive, and I'm not an expert...

Loud noises are a deterrent to repeat offenders.

Actually i don't think i've ever heard sirens inside a real police station. Well, maybe a couple times from cars outside the station, but none inside the station itself.

You know, I think we only got interiors for police stations that we could enter after we got Newspaper and then Scanner missions. In said missions, the only reason you go into the station is to conduct a jail break, or stop one that's in progress. Those are situations where it's reasonable that sirens might be going off inside the station.

I wonder if they just "copy/pasted" the environment from the mayhems/safeguards so that we got the same building, complete with siren sound emitters.

I could be wrong, and I don't have any evidence, but I think the police station interiors in zones like atlas and KR predate the mayhem/safeguard missions.

You may want to lay low for a while.

Dunno bout you but the alarms are always blaring when I'm in a police station.

Heh.

Yeah, there is one down on Elgin Street next to some eateries I used to frequent. Basically you enter to see a front desk and some doors. You *SO* cannot just walk into the holding cells and so on.

No, we'd just debuff the noises and loot them as well.

Yes, you could.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I dunno, but I blame the Zig. I mean, have you ever seen a guard there? Ever? Nope, nothing there but giant sewer tunnels, complete with unlocked swinging doors.

I feel that any architectural firm that would design a prison thusly, probably feels that all available resources ought to be utilized to redesign law enforcement buildings with the zenith of all crime deterrents: the car alarm.

You're wrong. Police Stations started showing up in Paragon City when detectives first showed up to hand out Police Scanners for Scanner/Safeguard missions. This was Issue 8. Police Stations as a building with an interior first showed up Issue 7 when City of Villains received Paper/Mayhem missions, where they served as the interior for the jail break side mission.

I believe the Uber Guy is right. These things first showed up as places to raid, which justified the sirens - the building was on alert. They simply copy-pasted the interior wholesale, sirens included. I never liked those sirens, myself.

No wonder the cops take themselves outside and fling themselves on the bullets of Hellions.

I have, quite a lot. My uncle worked his way up to detective before making it into the FBI. Also have another uncle working narcotics, he's been featured on 48hours a few times!

Suffice it to say, depending on what floor you're on, they can vary from being more noisy than you can stand (lots of loud conversations over each other) or dead silent.
I've yet to hear a klaxon blaring nonstop though...

And to people who may be willing to work their.

When I was a medic I had the chance to visit the police station, and the county jail far more than I would have liked. I have been told that during my ministry time I will visit prisons quite a bit too.

I can tell you that Sirens are not constantly blaring, but they are still very lout because you have a large group of people who are mostly angry, trying to talk over each other.

Would be cool if that sound in CoX would go away. And while you are at it could you add fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars to the normal roads too? :P

Then you'd have police and rescue workers who drive like grannies, too.

-That building is burning! Hurry!
-I'm hurrying! I'm almost breaking 20mph! What do you want from me!

I can imagine crooks on foot outrunning police cars if they drive like Paragon City traffic
