Katana/Regen scrapper, awesome choice Z, but then I'm not biased or anything.

This build is the actual build I'm currently using on my Main, Asgardian Blade. I'm constantly tweaking it but for now, this is how he rolls. It's an inexpensive build fully IO'ed out but it's not something that will break the bank. I've used reward merits, A-merits and AE tickets to build the more expensive enhancements over time. The 2 Hecatombs I got as drops. I'm saving empys to fill out Hecatomb in Soaring Dragon if I can't get them as drops.

I build weapons toons to minimize redraw as much as possible, hence, no EPP and no Hasten (plus hate the FX, so I dropped it last respec). I've got enough recharge from set IOs and yes, I do take as many powers from my primary and secondary to establish an attack chain and build defense as I can. I took CtW to slot Perfect Zinger for the bonuses and I'm using it as a pulling power to thin mobs. He's also fully T4 incarnate with Spiritual, Barrier (also Clarion but not often), Pyronic and Reactive. The incarnate powers don't affect the build overall, just really nicely enhance it.

Of course, with everything, it depends on your preferred playstyle. I could do better with him, but I have a disease which prevents me which you may have heard of it: Altitis. I blame Synapse... (can't wait for staff weapons!).

Itrials and incarnate content in general you are dealing with mobs that can dish out everything at you. But seems that AoE, Ranged, Fire, Energy and Psi are the types most often seen when facing large mobs. So I typically try to get as close to 32.5% to as many different positions or types as I can so that I am one small purple away from softcap. So long as you are using Divine Avalanche your melee and lethal def is fine.

I also take into consideration that different trials require you to move between melee and range, and it is nice to be able to be effective at both.

I don't know what the theme of your character is, but I have been working on a Street Justice/Regen character that is modeled after the recent Thundercats cartoon. So I have tried to incorporate as many of the classic "abilities" as I could.

The sword of course is a nod to Lion-o

Stealth for a nod to Tygra

Superspeed for a nod to Cheetara

Manuvers and Tactics as a nod to General Panthro

And Fire Blast and Ring of Fire a nod to the Thundertanks' ranged weapons.

You will have a Melee attack chain of Sting, DA, Soaring Dragon, and Golden Dragonfly

A PBAoe chain of Flashing Steel and Lotus Drops

A Ranged chain of Ring of Fire and Fire Blast.

For Alpha is Agility Partial Core, this is to Cat-like nature of the concept

For Destiny is Ageless, the Thundercats ho from the sword, where the speed and endurance is heightened

For Interface is Degenerative Partial Core, the trickster stink bombs of the Willie Kit and Kat are the idea

For Judgement is Pyronic, as that supports the Thundertank idea

For Lore is Phantom Partial Core as a nod to the support of Jagga.

It is not a perfect build. But, hopefully there will never be a moment in a trial or content that you will have to stand there and wait to be able to use your sword. Like when the blue patches drop in a Apex, or the purple patches drop in a MoM trial.

And in the end hopefully it would be fun and enjoyable.

Soaring dragon would be slotted with the scrapper ATO set.

Shadow Meld / Soul would be my first pick, but since that isn't an option we're going to need a pile of extra mitigation to close the gap.


The best way I could think to do that was to try and remove range from the equation. Basically the build relies on the KD of energy torrent as an opener to mitigate the ranged alpha allowing you to quickly close in with super speed and get a divine avalanche up for soft capped melee defense. 2 Stacked you are well above incarnate softcap and able to deal with some - def.

I haven't tested the DA mobs but if they are anything like the current DA mobs, Focused ACC will be pretty important if any of the foes have hurricane and what not.

Build is pretty straight forward, moderate Melee defense, decent recharge, and most importantly the movement control (Hurdle/SS/CJ) required to effectively use energy torrent as both a damage and mitigation tool.

I personally don't slot the -res procs on my standard PvE scrapper builds because a 1 in 5 chance of it proc'ing against mobs that generally don't take 5 attack chains to cycle isn't really worth it (to me).


Dull pain is perma, hasten should be a second or so off, IH has >50% up time between that and Rebirth you should be running pretty high levels of regen at all times able to fall back on MOG, self heals and a decently spammable AoE KD (on a 6.5 second timer) factor in the time it takes mobs to knock down and animate getting back up you should be able to juggle pretty well when you need to play defensively.

I made this build with the idea that it can be strong for all purposes, without needing a seperate build to exemplar or do lvl 50+ content. To go along with that, I picked non-level 50 enhancements in most slots so that you can keep a majority of the set bonuses down to level 29 or below. My build also offers enough recharge for perma-Hasten with Alpha slot access, moderate levels of defense, with Divine Avalanche to help boost it when necessary. You'll have a good mixture of survivability and damage, both single target and AoE.

I only included the Alpha slot in the build to not mess with Mids' numbers, but I'd also strongly recommend Barrier Core Epiphany Destiny, Reactive Core Flawless Interface, and Void Radial Final Judgement to further boost survivability and damage. The others are more of a preference thing and won't directly impact the build so I'll leave them out.

Since Mids' hasn't been updated for the ATO sets yet, I'd suggest replacing the set in Flashing Steel with the complete ATO set, if you're using ATOs.

Fine. Since I can't have Shadow Meld, I squeezed in Tough (and 3-slotted Kick, not to add to the attack chain but to mule another +MaxHP set bonus), and included Fire Mastery so I could keep the single-target hold. I suppose (grudgingly) that in the absence of any actually useful powers, another AoE attack is not the worst thing in the world to have.

Although I gotta say, seriously -- if Manticore could go underground inside Arachnos' top ranks to steal their secrets, Zwillinger can too. Not to mention a free 5 merits per zone just from playing tourist for a couple of hours. It's not nearly the hardship that the PvP enhancements would be.

I still stand by my submission, but if you ever get tired of playing inferior archetypes and better at making inf, you should make a Human-Form Warshade.

I've had this build for a little while. Using Divine Avalanche, your softcapped to Melee.

You didn't mention financial limits, so I slotted 3 purple sets. With recharge bonuses and Spiritual Total Radial Revamp as your Alpha slot, you have Perma Hasten.

I chose Barrier as your Destiny slot. The idea I had in mind was along with the builds high recharge rate, you would always have Barrier, Instant Healing, or Moment of Glory up to use.

For your Interface slot, I picked Diamagnetic Total Core Conversion. This way, your applying a 100% chance to Debuff your enemies To Hit, thus increasing your survivability.

Judgement slot, I chose Pyronic thematically to go with Blaze Mastery.

Here's my entry to this fine contest.

Plenty of recharge, plenty of end, a couple nifty tricks, room for your own personal touches and plenty of damage to go along with it. Thematically it can fit pretty much any concept, and minimizes redraw.

Highlights and Notes:
You start off at the HP cap, with 62.58 HP/Second regeneration (Bumping up to 161HP/Sec with IH). Reconstruction is available every 15 seconds, Moment of Glory by 68, and Dull Pain every 90 (Perma). Instant Healing will be up over half the time. With two stacks of DA, you are at 60% Defence for Lethal and Melee damage. All that along with 31% S/L Resist, 26% to Fire/Cold, and 14% to Energy/Negative is more than enough to keep you swinging your sword safely in the incarnate zones.

Hasten is perma also, but if you are offended by the glowing hands you don't lose very much performance by only using it in the extra tough situations. Additionally, the Purple Hold set in Char can be swapped for some Basilisks Gaze without losing very much in the way of set bonuses to help reduce the overall cost if that is an issue. Burnout is in the build as well for those special occasions where the fights going on a little longer than you'd like and IH is running out. Pop Burnout, and you can IH again right away for that extra little boost. Golden Dragonfly is over slotted in the hope that you can at some point squeeze in the Fury of the gladiator Chance for -Res, but for now a 6th Armageddon will fill in nicely. Super Speed is in at 20 with a Winter's Gift for a little bit of Slow resist, and can be teamed up with the Stealth IO in sprint for days when you're feeling extra sneaky.

I used the Decimation Chance for Build Up IO in Char, and that might leave you thinking "Huh?", but follow me for a second. I *Highly* suggest spending a few Paragon Points on the attuned "Market" version of this proc. As per Arbiter Hawk's recent post, this version uses a variable proc rate based on the average rate of "Once a minute". In Char, a power with a 32 second recharge rate this *should* mean the normally 5% chance for build up in the standard IO becomes around a 50% chance. Big group of Malta up ahead? Throw smoke into the eyes of the sapper and jump in singing. The Guassian's Chance for Build Up in BU has a much lower proc rate (5% Chance to fire, 24 Second recharge), but it's worth it for the smile that only a double (or TRIPPLE) built up critical hit with Golden Dragonfly can bring to your face. Especially if that poor unlucky Hellion has already been hit in his Achilles Heel (+20% damage).

A note on Incarnate powers:
Alpha slotted right now is Agility Core Paragon for extra recharge and Defence to get you up to that Incarnate sweet spot.

Judgement, Destiny, and Interface are all at your discretion. Personally, my choice would be Pyronic Core for the extra AoE damage, and Barrier for the extra mitigation/time to regenerate. Slotted int he posted build is Degenerative Radial for the poisoned blade aspect, but again it's up to you're concept. Reactive gives more damage and -Res, and is the most popular for a reason, but Degenerative is still a strong contender and more unique choice.

Alright, so here's this build. Super high recharge, pretty much the absolute best you're going to get with out numerous sacrifices. Nothing horribly special beyond that. No 'softcap' and no gimmicky procs that aren't very good in actual execution.

What this build DOES support is going to the PARAGON MARKET and spending PARAGON POINTS on delightful things such ENHANCEMENT BOOSTERS and DUAL INSPIRATIONS to be an unkillable god of death while also supporting PARAGON STUDIOS and CITY OF HEROES all at once!

Why yes, the entire point of this build is for people to actually remember that inspirations are a part of the game and the soft cap means nothing that One or Two Luck+'s can't duplicate for 60 seconds. And since you don't need the soft cap against trash spawns when soloing + you're soft capped in trials anyway, buffing defense too much in a set with out it is an honest waste of slots.

+DMG slotting is great, but you can still duplicate this effect with Damage Inspirations on a single AV (making Build Up procs worthless as they require you to use bad attacks to utilize in most scenarios), and soloing AVs hasn't been cool since '07.

As an aside, slot the Scrapper ATIO set into Soaring Dragon, put the Critical Proc in Divine Avalanche and never use it because it's a trap power. Use the last slot of Soaring Dragon for a damage proc of your choosing. Unless you really want that Six Set ATIO Bonus then /shrug.

And remember, this build shines if you utilize the PARAGON MARKET and support PARAGON STUDIOS and CITY OF HEROES products!

Incarnate Junk: Spiritual, Rebirth +Max HP for HP Cap and being super awesome, Interface because it's overpowered, Cimerorans because they're overpowered.

TL;DR-

Pros:
Makes Paragon Money
Lots of Damage Procs which is the only way to further increase damage beyond Damage Cap.
HP Cap which can't be duplicated with items from the PARAGON MARKET.

I figure why not? I'm still playing around with my builds in mids and I'm bored pulling a double at work, I should give it a try. This build is the best because it is a natural without crazy things like fireballs. You pull out spiky things to throw on the ground and a shuriken cause you are a boss ninja like that (see the stealth in sprint, all ninja like). And since this is a MMORPG we all know concept is key...plus you play on Virtue so you're supposed to have concept and stuff

Lotus Drops wants to have the full Scrapper set, preferably superior. It's not always softcapped (just apply DA a couple times and stop your whining) and I chased some resists, especially Psi since those stoopid Seer wenches like to use it, so you'll not only be regening like a boss but also ignoring 15-32% of all incoming damage and then healing it back like regen do.

::Edit:: As a note, how do you wimpy Scrappers deal with such a piddly HP cap??
