  1. It's been fixed interally and we'll probably see it the next patch with all the things that were discussed near the end of beta but didn't make I22's release.

It is now fixed internally. It should now proc only once every 10 seconds and there won't be any second application of the effect. It is also slightly more likely to play nice with offensive toggles.

Getting a critical every time 10s is good IMO. Getting a critical every time a-strike lands sounds too good to me.
The way it currently works Hidden isn't completely unpredictable. When it was being discussed during I22 beta I found it was just over 10 seconds between each Hidden, assuming you get the ATO to proc at least once before the Stalker's Guile buff wears off. The buff reapplies itself after the first wears off and you go into Hidden again on likely the next server tick rather than based on when you attack.
  2. Log into a character on the server and use "/friend <name>" (without the quotes) to check if a name is available or not. If the name is in use you'll get them as a friend or a message saying you can't befriend an enemy, if it says they don't exist then the name is free.

Just keep in mind the character limit for names, which I can't recall offhand, but it will say a name doesn't exist if it's too long.

I'm not really familiar enough with the other procs, but it seems like ATO effectiveness is going to vary from one person to another based on both their powersets and their build.

For example, my build will be able to make really good use of the Stalker proc since going through my optimal attack chain twice takes only a little over 10 seconds. If instead of being slightly over 10 seconds it was slightly under 10, I would need to go through my attack chain 3 times to get a crit rather than 2, getting roughly 33% less procs in extended combat, or adjust my attack chain to make better use of the proc which may or may not result in a DPS increase. So while Stalkers can get a proc every 10 seconds, not everyone likely will be getting them that often, or adjusting for it won't result in as large of a DPS increase due to using a less effective attack chain.
  4. Thanks for letting us know. It's been kind of disappointing that this was the only AT that could potentially perform worse with their ATO proc slotted, so it'll be great having it fixed for I22 when we'll be able to make better use of it slotted into AS in combat, which seems to be the most popular place to slot it.

Every 10 seconds is still a good amount of extra damage, even if it works out to only occuring every other time through an attack chain for some.
  5. This is based on using the proc on Beta as I haven't slotted it on Live.

-Which ATO do you have slotted? (Standard or Superior)

    Superior (slotted in Assassin's Blade)

-What is your attack chain that makes these problems obvious?

Ablating Strike > Sweeping Strike > Ablating Strike > Assassin's Blade

-What is the behavior you expect?

Assassin's Blade putting me into Hidden, causing the following Ablating Strike to crit.

-Is there an attack chain that always works?

Haven't found one, but I have very few attacks and didn't specifically test for this. Throwing in Power Slice (the only other attack in my build that's not part of my attack chain or an EPP ranged power) enough to extend the time between Assassin's Blades to 10+ seconds should allow it to always work, at a large hit to DPS.

-Please list your +recharge rate. It's important to know if you are stacking procs or not.

Minimum of 201.25% recharge, max is 261.25%, varies due to Ageless Core Epiphany's scaling buff. This includes perma-Hasten.

    neat

Driftwood, it sounds like the problem you're having with the proc and criticals is the same thing I posted about on the beta forums. I haven't tried the proc myself on live so I wasn't sure if it was working the same way or not.

The proc seems to works in kind of a weird way. When the proc goes off and puts you into Hidden, it also gives you a buff called Stalker's Guile. This buff, at least on beta, lasts 10 seconds and while the buff is up you won't get another proc from using the power with it slotted. Instead, if you would've gotten another proc, it'll go off after the existing Stalker's Guile buff would wear off and renew the buff again.

If you have it slotted in AS (with its 100% crit chance) and use it more often than once every 10 seconds, you'll be getting the Hidden proc in roughly 10 second intervals (it seems to be slightly longer than 10 seconds but less than 11), unrelated to when you use AS. There also seems to be some sort of stacking issue with it that's causing the occassional double Hidden proc where you'll become hidden twice in a row with a short delay inbetween.

If you let the buff wear off, it should work as expected with AS immediately putting you back into Hidden.

People might not complain about it, but that doesn't mean they like it. It does depend a lot on how the person uses their KB, but percent based KB like Energy Blast has is rarely beneficial in my experience. The AoE and cone in the set are the worst offenders, if they're not used properly can cause things to live longer than they would otherwise as they're scattered and/or knocked away from other AoEs from the team.

Even if no one complains, I have seen a lot of times where after a mission most, if not all the team disbands. It could be unrelated as that type of thing does happen, but it seems to almost always happen in my experience when there's a bad Storm or Energy Blast player after a single mission if they seem to be sticking around.

I made this build with the idea that it can be strong for all purposes, without needing a seperate build to exemplar or do lvl 50+ content. To go along with that, I picked non-level 50 enhancements in most slots so that you can keep a majority of the set bonuses down to level 29 or below. My build also offers enough recharge for perma-Hasten with Alpha slot access, moderate levels of defense, with Divine Avalanche to help boost it when necessary. You'll have a good mixture of survivability and damage, both single target and AoE.

I only included the Alpha slot in the build to not mess with Mids' numbers, but I'd also strongly recommend Barrier Core Epiphany Destiny, Reactive Core Flawless Interface, and Void Radial Final Judgement to further boost survivability and damage. The others are more of a preference thing and won't directly impact the build so I'll leave them out.

Since Mids' hasn't been updated for the ATO sets yet, I'd suggest replacing the set in Flashing Steel with the complete ATO set, if you're using ATOs.

The game prevents you from slotting both. You can only have one version of a particular enhancement from the ATO set slotted regardless of if it's superior or not.

I haven't tried it on live yet, but on beta as of a few days ago, if you proc more often than once every ~10 seconds, you do lose control of when the proc happens. If the Stalker's Guile buff is on, which appears when the proc goes off, any additional procs won't occur until roughly 10 seconds after the previous. This can cause the proc to put you into hidden before using AS depending on how the timing goes.

It's possible it is working differently on live, and even if not, if you AS less often than every 10 seconds you shouldn't notice this problem.
  11. This is really great news and something I didn't expected to happen, especially for free.

Since some of the male magic pack pieces are being given to females, I was wondering if it'd be possible, even if it happens sometime after this current update, to give females access to the Occult detail for High Collar and Capes.

  13. Since Possess seems to be using a unique confuse animation, it would be nice if it was more than just a standard single target confuse, as the short description given suggests. A way to expand on the idea while keeping with the theme of the power could be to make it so a possessed enemy can possess other enemies when they attack them, with the newly possessed enemy also able to spread the possession and so on.

By adjusting the base duration, chance to spread, and the spread confuse's duration as well as possibly the endurance cost, the power should be able to be balanced with a recharge similar to/the same as the existing single target confuses. That'd keep it as a power you can use throughout each fight when it'll be helpful, while allowing it to serve a bit different of a purpose to the existing single target confuses.

I'm not sure what sort of impact something like this would have on the balance of the set as a whole, but since spreading would take time and would be unreliable, especially as the set's full of -To Hit, it probably wouldn't upset balance with the rest of the set staying the same even with a change like this.

I am working to build this version, but would love to have an i21 update with even better numbers. If anyone can give me one. =)

    EDIT: found Frosty's original post.
I tried making a few updates to the build. I don't believe it lost any of it's original DPS with the changes, but I added the leadership toggles in place of where fitness was. I moved a couple slots out of health so I could put 2 HOs in Manuevers and 2% damage 2 piece bonus in Tactics. I wasn't sure if the recovery procs were necessary to sustain it or not, but if they were, Ageless could be used to make up for them.

For Incarnate I picked Musculature Core Paragon for the damage boost and Reactive Core for Interface. I wasn't sure which Reactive would result in more damage, but since the build has such high DPS it seemed like the higher -res chance would be better.

With the new shiny reflections of Ultra Mode, the Winter Lords have been required to find new places to call home with less risk of being melted from the heat of reflected light. This fear has caused them to choose some poor locations, such as on top of Atlas' statue, just as heroes were starting to gather for a costume contest.

It might be that Issue 17 isn't quite ready yet, so to meet the April deadline set for Demon Summoning, perhaps they might have to release it separately rather than with Issue 17. While there is still a lot of April left, this is pretty much the last week to start open beta without making it a short one compared to previous OBs. With things like UI changes and Ultra Mode, a longer than normal OB would seem likely as well.

If it was just a new version of Issue 17 that was being tested on the EU PTS, it doesn't seem likely they would have to revert it back to Issue 16, and if Issue 17 really is that close there probably wouldn't be a need to make fixes prior to Issue 17's release at this point.

  24. I got the same email as the OP, it is a phishing scam. The actual url the link directs to is very close to the real one, but it is slightly different and obviously fake once you catch the difference.
