Actually it is directly because of my former experience with CCGs that I'm so strongly opposed to having them here. They are predatory in nature, and they are pretty much directly selling Inf for real money.

Arcanaville had a breakdown of the 9 or so types of packs

C-C-C-U-R
C-C-U-U-R
C-C-U-R-V
etc.

But that thread disappeared with the I21 beta forums.

Just to be clear, there are no rename or respec tokens in the superpacks. They really are a great deal for those who enjoy a variety of different types of permanent and consumable items, though. For people who hate consumables or whose builds are perfect and don't need ATOs, they won't be worth spending money on.

And that's fine. Not everything in the market will appeal to everyone.

I like the costume set (and the black wolf). If they were up for sale outright, I'd buy them.
Super Packs = no sale + a hefty amount of disappointment in Paragon Studios
+1

Super Packs be Silly. Oh welp, guess I'm never ever using these costume pieces till they come out as a separate pack.Shame because they're super pretty too. Sighhhhhh.

Or we DID buy trading cards, and learned to hate them. I gave away all my old Magic cards recently (save one, saved for the artwork on it). But with most of the rewards in the SBs, you can't even do that.

I've been opposed to these from day one, but some friends have got me rethinking my stance on them. So, for the moment, I'm undecided.

Question: When will we be able to buy them with our Paragon Reward Tokens? We were supposed to be able to get 5 per token, but I see no way to do that.

If they were truly giving us a choice they would commit to offering the costumes and black wolf pet for a straight out purchase. They have said they would look at the possibility, but haven't made a commitment so far.

Has anyone checked under the enhancement booster's tab in the shop to see if they put enhancement converters in. On beta those were great. Used them to turn the ATO's I didn't want into ATO's that I needed. They were also a random draw in superpacks as well as the enhancement catalyst; which was used (level 50 only characters) to boost the ATO sets to higher numbers.

I have and still play CCG's, and I hate buying packs. But I can also go on Ebay/Amazon, or buy individual cards via the local CCG-selling comic store if I want(albeit at a higher price). Most of the dislike for Super packs(at least, from what I read) aren't that they have random chance put in, but because you can't just buy the set for a higher price. I'd rather pay 400 points(well, really less than 400, but I've paid that for a costume pack already) than have to sit there hoping the random number crunching gives me what it wants(and spend to get the chance to bet on it).

Is there a list of all the costume parts and what sizes they are available at, just asking because I unlocked the elemental chest and can't find it on my Huge/Male char.

Too many 50's to list here's a few you may know.
Slazenger, Area51, Area53, Area54, Erruption, Mind Plague, Thresher, Sheath, Broadside, Debt

I'd unsub for a while in protest of this, if I wasn't already subbed through June.

I'm waiting for news that 100% of the items in the packs can be purchased separately without any gambling involved. Wake me when it happens.

It's under robes, oddly enough.

Cool, is their a list for all the parts, or is it just search and find, because I would never have looked under Robes for that piece.

Got an example of this?

@Golden Girl

City of Heroes comics and artwork

Nope! just checked and the converter's are NOT in the shop yet. I hope there is still a chance for them in the packs. Has anyone seen any yet?

Very happy with packs, managed to get the entire set plus catalysts for my brute and if their are only 11 pieces of costume parts, I managed to get everything I wanted in 24 packs

If there was such a list, it was on the i21 Beta forums, which are gone now. Sorry.

It's not a costume bundle. It's a costume set that you have to buy all sorts of extraneous crap to (hopefully) assemble.
And might eventually end up costing you $35 or more to finally complete.

As someone who spent too much of his allowance as a kid on Wacky Packages, and Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back trading cards, and too much of his income as an adult on Buffy, and Star Wars Galaxy trading cards, I think these are a fun idea. I'll probably buy a 24 pack on each of my accounts and be done with it.

Does anyone know what the actual odds of any given item are? In the first pack I opened, I got 1 common, 3 uncommon and 1 very rare item.
I still play Magic, but I don't buy packs anymore.

I win my packs at the cost of only the tournament entry, probably because I only buy the cards I want.

Now that ATO's are live, how about creating an official announcement giving players more details about them.

Am I the only one who feels thinks just get thrown in lately without explanation for the general player base? Yes, these things are in Beta, but come on, not everyone has the time to search these things out and tinker with them before going live.

@Rylas

Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.

Of course, some may 'only' want to buy the packs because of the costume sets, which are hot sellers, as everyone knows.

For us, the cost of the costume went skyhigh. Of course, there is always the 'no purchase' option which I am leaning towards.

Of course, no one would have any complaints if there wasn't 'exclusive' bits in the packs. And the worst part, it is a thematically related costume 'set', that entices you to keep buying until you collect the whole thing, because the parts work so much better together and not generally as well as individual pieces, such as the School Backpack or the Fireman's Helmet.

What is the difference between the XP Booster and the Experienced Power?

And what do Restore and Revive powers do?

I'd check in game if I were able to but my boss hates me playing City at work.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

Is the Black Wolf just for show, or can it be used as an ally?

Pretty much the same as mine, also never got converters, but I did get 6 catalysts.
