Updates on the way: Steampunk, Gunslinger and Magic Packs!
Again, it is ok with so many of you because you are not the ones getting slighted. You are getting everything males get, AND unique stuff, AND female dedicated costume packs. I am wrong for being annoyed by that, and voicing that annoyance? I really don't get the self righteous stance some posters seem to take.
Here is what I am seeing in this thread. Equality only matters when it is females who are getting treated unequal.

And whether you see it as such or not, males ARE losing parity in number of costume options.

But more so with street clothes and historical clothes, then yes. Women get numerically more. Because woman usually wear more. Women layer more. Women have more diverse styles. Men just don't (usually) wear all the extra stuff women wear: shawls, belly shirts, corsets, skirts, etc...
Take skirts,e.g. Men have kilts. Women have dozens of styles of skirts. But they both get battle skirts (e.g., Valkyrie or Roman). What rankles me is that men don't have shorts. But when men do get shorts, there's no need for a dozen styles.
The comedian Elaine Boozler tells this joke in her stage act about how men and women differ and to show how they differ, she claims men won't even get this joke: "I was shopping with my boyfriend and I said I needed a new pair of black pants. And he said you already have a pair of black pants." The women in the audience laughed because they got the joke. If you don't get the joke, then you should back out this debate, because you just don't get how differently women actually use clothing in reality.
Just compare the average woman's closet to a man's closet. Woman have more costuming needs. And that's a fact.
Thus, forcing an equality based on simple numerical equity is just wrong.
And this is me making this argument who was spearheading the gender bias charge for years here. It's not about numbers.

Not with things like armor sets or uniforms.

All of this could be solved by porting the gender neutral items from female to male, and not releasing ANY more gender exclusive costume packs, be they male or female.

I don't see why males get a pile of M&Ms, but females get an equivalent amount of jelly beans plus a similar amount of M&Ms.
|
2.) Its because they're girls, duh
3.) Because males have ulterior motives
4.) You think that pile of M&Ms in front of the guy are actually his
5.) Girls don't get beat up for hogging all the candy
6.) Girls can never have too much candy (Happy V.D. everyone!)

Oddly I have more clothes than my wife. Granted most of them are variations of T-shirts, Cargo Shorts, and Jeans. I get the joke...

Oh for heaven's sake, players who wanted real variety with female costumes were "slighted" repeatedly with the Steampunk, Gunslinger and Magic Packs - which are only now being fixed. (And that's not taking into account similar problems with the recent Barbarian Pack.) When there's a comparable streak of problems for male costumes, then it's time to complain. Meanwhile, the devs have been listening to our feedback and are taking this into account for future packs (which has been repeatedly pointed out). Let's see what the Sci-Fi and Elemental Order Packs look like when they go live before complaining about being slighted.

Ok, at what point do we start calling it a streak? Fair question right? Should we start at the Carnie pack? Also in the other packs you named, females didn't get less they just got more slutty picks instead. I completely agree with those who were annoyed by that.

That whoosh sound is tongue-in-cheek sarcasm sailing miles over your head.
Oh yeah, also: way way cool! |
Anyway, add my voice to the chorus of thanks. I'm in the camp that wants to see gender-neutral gear on both genders, and I'm perfectly fine with that meaning that the fairer sex gets more overall pieces to play with. Though I'm also in the camp that would like some of the currently female-only bits ported over to males. [Smarmy announcer voice] "Wrist bracers. They're not just for women any more!"
Nice work, Ms. Dink.
Hey Guys,
Just wanted to let you know that I am very excited to bring to you something that you have been asking for, for a long time... By some small miracle I had some spare time in my schedule in this milestone. So rather than spend the day twiddling my thumbs, I have ported the following Costume Pieces over to female: |
Dink, you are AMAZING. Thank you so much for your time and for listening to the player feedback on these sets. You've expanded their value greatly!

And since you've been so kind about porting over things. I have to ask about a bug that's been long standing for Skull Belts and Jackets and Male models. Here's my post I made a long, long time ago about the matter. One of my oldest characters can't update his look without losing the Skull belt that he USED To have.
Under Jackets - Huge body types have Fanged Skull Belt, Lone Skull Belt and Small Skull Belt. Female body types have Fanged Skull Belt and Small Skull Belt. Males have none of the above. Please let Male body types have the Fanged skull and Small Skull Belt types under Jackets and Jackets w/o sleeves. If feasible allow both Female and Male body types to have the Lone Skull Belt as well just as the Huge body types do. |
