Retro Sci Fi Costume Set: Bubble Helmets! - Vote for what we make!

Last year at the very first Freedom Player Summit, we introduced the design a costume set workshop. After our initial pass, and much discussion between the art team and the Community, we've now narrowed down the selections. Now it's back to the Community to help us decide on the final product!

Between now and Thursday, February 9th 2012, you can submit your vote for which pieces we should include in the finished version.

Of course, should anything happen that would change the outcome of the final selection, we'll communicate this to you.

So get out the vote and help us decide our very first Community co-created costume set!

Isn't B just the Think Tank base with a bubble helm instead of the Brain Tank?

I could make a case for any of them, but if I only get one of them, the simpler one is more versatile, in my opinion.

What are the odds of getting these put on the costume menu as either a separate head type, or as Detail 1, so that we can have our choice of hair types and can use shoulder pieces on our space suits? You run the risk of hair like glam poking through the helmet, but that's user choice. I'll still somewhat-grudgingly buy it if it's implemented as a hat, but I'd prefer more versatility.

Tough choice. I like the sleekness of C, but A or B seem more practical. Hmm...

It'll probably be implemented the same way Think Tank was implemented; as a special head "style" (hats, helmets, hair with masks, monstrous, etc., bubble helmet).

Whichever gets made, can we have an option without the Bubble Helmet as well? All of the bases would be pretty cool as collars on their own.

Always remember, we were Heroes.

C matches his hair covering thingy.

It's also simpler. though honestly I like the top one too, but C seems more like the campy retro sci-fi styles I'm fond of.

you could have it all

Okay I think I'm stuck in a loop but why can't we have all these options in one pack?

Also, if we could get the bubble helmet itself solid except for a transparent faceplate, like many of the spacesuit helmets from the 50s forward:

Aren't all three of those bases variants on the brain-in-a-jar base?

Less is more for me, so I went with C. I like things generic enough to mix and match parts - If we get a bubble-less collar, it'd be a fancy choker to go with things like the Celestial armor.

I like choice B. because it reminds me of the was Wally Wood would've drawn it!

C, for simplicity's sake.

Voted C

C, I believe, while simple, works for what's being done. It just looks Cool. B is interesting, but is a little too similar to the Brain Tank's Collar.

Thank you for the time...

I voted B. I find A to actually be a bit futuristic looking while C is too simple for my tastes.

C is just too bland and plain! A is nice, but B gets my vote!

I'm curious about something. Will the head covering be hardwired into the helmet, or will we have a few hairstyles to pick from as well? Even if not all of them are ported over I think we'd end up too same-y from character to character if there are no options there.

hmmm. B shout retro-futer to ME, so I pick B.

This was a hard one. I couldn't choose between B or C so I used the good ol' tie breaker eeny, meeny, miny, moe and came up with B.

A

It seems to me the curvature at the bottom of the neck would clip less. Otherwise I've no preference.

So glad the retro scifi costume is finally coming to fruition. I remember putting my suggestion in the Jay's Costume Idea thread loooong time ago for just such a thing.... 2006? possibly. Anywho What would be awesome now is an option to make the glass part completely chrome "reflective". Make sure we can still have some goggle options and other head dressings that would fit in the bubble please, not to mention an exterior detail for the bubble itself... like an antenna or radar mounted on it. Oh man I could go on for hours, so excited!

And now the tank must put on a gorilla suit as we prepare to do battle with Cthulhu.

To the best dev team ever: I enjoyed meeting you all at the Summits and best of luck in all your future endeavors.

Why does the model look so unhappy in the bubble helmet? Did he dutch oven himself?

I like B best, mostly for the tubing look around the base.

Tough one between B and C but I went with the simpleness

I voted B here, too. I realise the simpler design would probably fit more potential concepts, but as the think tank proved to me, a more ornate collar is just more appealing to me.
