So, where's our solo incarnate content?
Gotta keep up with the news. I22 is gonna bust out an entire zone that will have solo Incarnate content dedicated to it. Revamped Dark Astoria, the god Mot has finally surfaced and only one with the power of an Incarnate can face such a dark god. Mobs in the zone will even grant iXP, making street sweeping rewarding.
Banished Pantheon and Tsoo will have special level 50 enemies made for the zone to face us. It will also intro a new Incarnate Trial for people that enjoy raid-level content. The zone will be co-op, but will be filled with chances for heroes to be heroes and villains to be villains.
Rant fail.
Posting in epic humiliation thread.
Where to now?

LOL, really? Yeah, I guess I am out of the loop. Thanks for the info and the flames. And all the fish.

Posts flamebait, tells people not to flame.

We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
This is the second time recently I've seen somebody complain about the devs not fixing or adding something even though in both cases they had already announced those things are coming. Gravity Control revamp is the other one, in case anyone is curious.
The lesson here is please do research before you rant folks. You look more intelligent that way.
In this instance the customer is not always right.
That, or Dev communication isn't as deep into the playerbase as they'd like.

I don't frequent the forums as much as I used to. Between work and the silly season and all. Not that I'm saying the devs need to do more to communicate with us. I mean, what can one expect. I like the devs and all, but they cant be calling us to let us know new stuff is on the way.
At least the solo stuff is in the works and not just something they've talked about.

Then you guys just aren't looking in the right sections. The devs make frequent announcements, and where the devs don't out and out announce it, the players spread the word. Ever week there's a coffee talk with Zwillinger and whatever dev or redname drops in that talks about the current goings on, if you don't want to watch the recorded ustream vids there's a weekly transcription that covers the highlights. And they announce all of this stuff on facebook and other media.
Everything was announced at the Player Summit, which was heavily advertised, then heavily discussed and even re-presented on Ustream for everyone that couldn't attend.
The devs communicate plenty, and more so than most companies from what I've seen.

But look at what you wrote... that is heavily forums focused. Now, what percentage of the playerbase actively/regularly uses the forums? How many casually check it out periodically? How many every now and then? How many never?

And what company doesn't use Twitter?
https://twitter.com/#!/CityOfHeroes
With the ease of video these days, you might expect that they would have a YouTube channel?
http://www.youtube.com/user/ncsoftnorcal?blend=7&ob=5
Or some kind of streaming video news source?

Jeez, they don't even have news on the front of their official page, what do they think this is the 90s?

Info, is out there if you're willing to spend 2 min. looking for for it.
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

All I'm saying is given posts like the OP's, and a few conversations in game... people are still missing the message so the communication is not all inclusive of their target audience. I don't even know if they need/can do more, but there is a segment that is not covered, for whatever reason. It is just an observation.
I guess they could put GMoTDs in-game and tell players "Hey, there's a new solo incarnate path coming... next year!" Which people won't read and just close because they just want to play.
=)

Allied to all sides so that no matter what, I'll come out on top!
Oh, and Crimson demands you play this arc-> Twisted Knives (MA Arc #397769)
You'd think people would understand the 'glowing patches of death' mechanic by now, but surprisingly ... not so much apparently.

Yes, sometimes other people actually pay attention to section titles and post in the logical sections, which i guess makes it hard to find for people who expect every single bit of info to be posted in a rather specific subforum regardless of relevance. Or something. Also, the Dev Digest and Community Digest are good places to look.
There ya go. Cause I had absolutely no idea stuff was already well into the pipe to be released.

Agreed. I mean really it's the 21st century. You would think they would have a facebook page.

Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
I know, Gecko. I said, I like their communication, but that is because it reaches me, and most of those with whom I regularly play.

Where the OP went wrong (and I'm not trying to flame, here, trying to be constructive) is that he came to the forums to ask about solo content. At that point, why not look around a little? Check Community and Dev digests. Check the Announcements forum. Look in City Life (though someone new to the forums wouldn't know about VK's coffee talk summaries).
At the very least, ask the question politely and neutrally. Getting snide about it just means you look silly if the question has a good answer. "Are there any plans for solo Incarnate content yet?" is cool. "Where's our solo Incarnate content? Clock's ticking, guys," opens you up for ownage.
De minimis non curat Lex Luthor.
Because these itrials totally blow. I would love to get a grasp on the story but faceplanting over and over just does not appeal to me.
The new trials are not fun, in any way, shape, or form. So where's our solo content. Or give us something that's at least beatable. |
The devs need to make an iTrial specifically for a single player to beat. It should involve the AV walking right up to where I stand, challenging me, and me pressing buttons for my optimal attack chain until victory is achieved. It shouldn't involve any sort of strategerie or thought on my part, just pressing buttons until I inevitably win and claim my E-merits.
Faceplanting is not an option! So if an AV attack is about to bring me below 1 hit point, the AV should stop, laugh, and explain some of the story about how weak I am and how he is going to win(allowing me time to regen some and heal up!). I should have as much time as I need to read what is said before the fight begins again, at which point I win. The bottom line is, I must win in order to have fun.

Really dont want to turn this into a rant or flamefest, but I'm sure everyone and their kid brother is gonna say. Well, we can win the trials.
Just keep those posts to yourself please, dont want to hear them. What I would like to hear is a ETA on something that I dont have to join a group of 24 to fail on.
Thank you.
Clocks ticking. ToR's going live soon.
