The day customer service employees start putting paying customers on ignore for ANY reason other than abusive behaviour, is the day I no longer associate with that company or any subsidiaries.

This is not an action someone like Zwil would ever consider doing.

Yes, and this is my not happy face. We already had forum changes prepared and ready to go. Unfortunately a fairly serious issue popped up at the late stages of the maintenance which precipitated rolling the forum build back.

This is, as I was informed, a top priority to have addressed.

Is this one of those situations where someone wrote custom code to link the forum software to the account verification system and then moved on leaving the code largely uncommented and undocumented, and now the people dealing with it have to figure what the original coder did?

Did they tell you that the new build was getting sick from being confined to the Internet, so, they brought it to a farm upstate so that it can run free and healthy with all its friend-builds?

But that would mean it would be living with my first dog and the puppy we adopted but couldn't stay and...waaaaaaiiiit a minute.

Zwillinger, please suggest to the people in charge to enact a scorched-earth policy where the forums are separated from the game accounts (entirely) and put back up with no add-ins.

Put the character copy tool in the account management (in or out of game).

Require a separate login to the forums, not the same as the game account.

Actually, just throw the boards away entirely, and create a City of Heroes subforum under the Lineage II boards. Those boards appear to run the same version of vBB we do, and while they seem to have had their own issues with vBB at times, my preliminary testing suggests their boards seem to work just fine. So apparently there's a bug in vBB that makes it specifically incompatible with City of Heroes. How astronomically unlucky for us.

The obvious solution is therefore, since L2 is now f2p, all City of Heroes players should just make Lineage II accounts, make Lineage II forum accounts, and NCSoft should just let us use a subset of those boards.

From my understanding in talking to the individual CM's for Aion and L2, they also suffer from the random log out issue.

It's the hero skin that's broken, dude.

(Though skin doesn't matter to the logout bug.)

Interesting: Lineage II's boards haven't randomly logged my browser out yet. CoH's boards do so consistently.

Reminds me of a few times in my past jobs...quite similar...

I was randomly logged out twice on the Lineage II boards the same day the GoD update came out. Didn't happen after that but I haven't spent much time there since either.

Apparently, everything good and sensible has been reallocated to Lineage II. By the way, I got a nice PM from the mods about this thread.
