I luckily have 2 50s that survived the betaserver wipe from earlier this year. I did try and copy someone else over and was aggravated I couldn't, but I hadn't thought of it as a reason for lack of beta testers. But yes, that's definitely a reason. I know I personally don't level anything on Test or Beta. I know I'm not personally interested in leveling in an environment where transfers are one way, and the server is subject to wipe at any given time, and if I fall in love with the toon I'll be starting it over from lv1 on live.

Sadly, it does not save everything, and it does not save everything correctly. It refuses to save the /vault window, and it will not put my Inspiration tray at the bottom of the screen, where I keep it.

Note:
It also saves colors, and makes the colors your new default. So, for example if you have different colors on different characters (I still use the blue and red skins for heroes and villains) when you load them you will get whatever you saved from the character you saved it on.

You can work around this using the /wdw_save_file <filename> and /wdw_load_file <filename> commands, to save off different files (such as for different characters). However, this command is something of a steaming pile of dung, as it does not save all your windows. (A window that is closed or hidden is often completely omitted from the saved file.)

I have spent about an hour trying to work up a save file that restores my windows how I want them. I am having trouble because I can't find the (correct) names of all the windows.

Anyone know the name of the vault window? It is neither "vault" nor "storedsalvage" (despite the latter clearly being what it is saved as).

I run the patcher , same issue
First of all, I am writing this from work where I do NOT have the Launcher in front of me, so I may be describing this wrong.

In the NCSoft Launcher, select City of Heroes, then there is a little arrow/triangle icon that pops up next to the name of the game... click (or right click?) on it and select 'Repair'. This is where I remember this option being the last time I needed to use it. They could have changed things or I could be misremembering.

You -may- need to do a defrag on the drive that the game files are saved on. But I might be wrong here, too. If you already defrag'd or you do so regularly, this may NOT be an issue.

In any case it just sounds like that file got messed up.

Again, I also could be blowing gas or something. If all else fails, contact support. I tried to find the information in their knowledge base to direct you to and failed and I don't have more time to go delving. Hope SOMETHING in my words help somehow, someway.

I agree as an option, but as a blanket change, I hate it. Neo Chamber was built around the KB, as he is thowing around pure bio-kinetic force. But on other characters on other AT's or power sets, I could do with less KB

I have a complex bind setup for any of my characters with TP, basically I hold Shift, it hides non essential windows, left click teleports me without having to click the TP power, release shift, and my windows come back.

These bind files are only loaded on characters WITH Teleport as a travel power. After todays patch on a toon WITHOUT TP, I enter my base, enter edit mode and hold shift to move an item up or down, and suddenly ALL of my UI windows pop up over the base edit UI, also leaving me unable to move an item. I exit base editor, type /bind shift nop /bind shift+lbutton nop, hit shift outside of the editor and nothing happens, just as it should, enter base edit, and hit shift OH LOOK all of my UI windows are back. SO I remove all of my bind files, reset key bindings to default in the UI, do it all again, and have the same issue. This on top of the UI resetting on login, and zone, makes the game unplayable for me.

And to all those that said the AE fixes aren't in the patch notes...

1.) It could be a mistake. Things happen and they have forgotten notes before (and not just "nerfs" either).

2.) They could have intentionally left it out with their policy of "not telling about exploits." Is popping inspirations before entering an AE mission an exploit? To me, no but...*shrugs* it could be why the notes aren't in the notes.



I'm kind of glad the new trial was pulled...gives more time for EI to get his day job badges

Also to those that said, "why didn't you beta test this?!" (UI/new badge collect popmenu/etc), my question back would be, "did you beta test it?" Granted some may not be able to (not a VIP or whatever) but there are, usually, too many people crying that x wasn't tested but they themselves never tested anything.

Sure it's not your job but there will always be things that the devs/qa people miss. Maybe you have a "weird" setup compared to normal people...and they only test x, y and z setups...so that's why it didn't get caught.

Call me a dev-apologist if you want but I just see me as a "realist"...I hate the UI bug (and was one of the ones that mentioned it in the beta forums) and hate how it went live but...*shrugs* I'm guessing the devs didn't want to release the patch on a Thursday (when they usually do actually patches on Tuesdays)...probably from higher-up telling them, "Do it!"

Does this mean I can use a second nvidia video card as a physx card? Because the option in the menu isn't letting me turn it on.

Knockup was confirmed on beta as definitely not working as intended; not sure about knockback, but it wouldn't surprise me if whatever is affecting the former isn't also affecting the latter.

Knockup (snicker) with Knockout Blow is definitely weaker. I've also noticed 'stuttering', where the mobs kind of flinch when I use Footstomp. I don't know if that's a graphics glitch or if they're being hit by a very, very, VERY weak knockdown.

I'm in exactly the same situation. I could recreate my characters on test but doing so is a lot of effort so I didn't bother to do any testing.

As I said above, yes, tested and confirmed. All of the knockbacks are...pathetic, to say the least. Knockups are even more sad-the knockup on Knockout Blow is like you just tickled them and they jumped a bit from the shock.

Level 22 Peacebringer, Radiant Strike (which does knockback.)

Level 3 Clockwork minions - who have less resistance to knockback than normal mobs.

"Parking lot" area on the map. They may as well just have been getting knocked down -they should have gone flying away from me with that level difference and the KB in that attack. They didn't even go all the way (the short way) across a "parking space."

Nova, bright nova detonation, vs lvl 1-ish Hellions. Flying at ground level, so it's not "KB into KD." They just fell over - no knockback at all.


Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.

I can. I kicked a -35 foe with Crane Kick on a level surface and it moved him like 5 feet. Normally he goes into low orbit. Not really, but normally he goes flying.

Vanessa DeVore seems to be set as a regular Carnival of Shadows enemy now. Doing a regular radio mission in PI I fought her 4 times in different enemy spawns. Kinda ridiculous.

And apparently Carnies have a higher-mag hold now? Getting held pretty quickly on my brute.
