Lame. Frackin' lame.

But as we all know, Sidious was waiting under him all the time, 'cause he looked into the future and saw Maul's halfiness. So he catches the only part of Maul that's usable, namely, his upper half, merges him upon a robotic lower half (which paves the way for General Grievous? Or the other way around?) and sends him off to destroy Skywalker, proving his worth as his student, or proving Skywalker's worth instead by having Maul die.

Or something like that. It's a guess... seeing as I don't even watch Clone Wars.

Oh, yeah, hold on... this was s'posed to be 'tween 2 and 3... the thing with student is supposed to be Darth Tyranus/Count Dooku. So... there is a TARDIS involved! Yeah, that's it! And the Enterprise had slingshotted around a sun, back in time, and also displaced in the universe to this Galaxy! Then the Dinosaurs somehow get in on the action... and SG1 shows up. Then, outta nowhere, Mr. Rogers shows up in a bloodied up sweater and a sword...

What? Might as well, if they're bringing back Maul, ya ask me.

Okay, you got me interested. I always thought Maul was way too cool of a character to bump off that easily so it's neat to see they're feeling the same way.

And yeah, I kind of swore off Star Wars a while back, but hey, as long as I avoid all the legions of internet pundits telling me what I should hate and how much I should hate it I should be able to enjoy myself.

I think people are jumping to conclusions here.

There is no evidence he survived. All we know is he returns. This could mean a number of things. Does he get resurrected? Does his spirit get brought back? Etc etc.

Personally, I'm leaning towards the Nightsisters doing a seance of some sort and attempt to bring his spirit back for a new host body.

um....the series isnt called CLONE wars for nothing....I mean come on....if Jango Fett can be cloned 100,000 plus times over....why cant Darth Maul be cloned? Besides in the comic book follow up to episodes 4, 5 and 6 Emperor Palpatine has an entire facility of cloned bodies just for him! So dont tell me its a reach.....

I could be wrong, and I can't think of the title, but I remember reading a graphic novel containing short stories that revealed other plots that took place during the Clone Wars and shorty after the Clone Wars ended. One of the shorts had Darth Maul returning on Tattooine with cybernetic legs, baiting Obi Wan by threating a young Luke Skywalker at the Lars' residence. Obi Wan makes short work of Darth Maul, and I think it ends with Lars telling Obi Wan to stay away from Luke and his family.

Yep, that is one of the non-canon stories for Darth Maul.
