On Travel Suppression and Heal Decay
keep the travel suppression temp power but only have it granted for the duration of the animation? Unless I'm missing something, the only real difference between the two is that under the latter system you wouldn't gain much benefit from jump-skipping animations.

"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
The Devs won't ever learn guys. How many times have people made constructive pvp threads on similar topics and gone unheard or ignored or simply told no.
Honestly no one should be playing this game anymore and if you still are you got noone to blame but yourselves. It's like that old saying how did it go?
"Sub to a bad game once shame on the Devs, sub to a bad game for 7 years shame on you."
In my experience building software (not games) its actually seldom the case the development team doesn't know or understand what the player base is asking for. The problem with long unrealized demands that the demands are usually too hard (which really means too expensive) to give customers what they want. I _think_ this is the case here where we seeing incremental changes to PvP balance when we really need a holistic overhaul of the PvP rule set without hurting/affecting PvE.

Pacing of the changes isn't relevant. Its kind of like when you have any big time consuming task in front of you until you can tackle all of it you can't do any of it because of the inter-dependencies.

Dev mindset goes like this:
"The vast majority of people hate TS and HD, but it is kept in for the benefit of the casual player who isn't superspeeding/superjumping all over the place. It might be unpopular; but much like ED and the CoT redesign, it's for the good of the game." The devs legitimately think HD/TS is a good idea. They will not be told otherwise. They think that all of our carefully constructed feedback is nothing more than "1337 pvpers" trying to manipulate them into making it easier to farm casual players. Add to this that the devs themselves are not PVP minded, don't understand what PVPers want, and aren't any good at PVP, and you can start to understand why they've made the changes they have over the years. In short: the developement team don't know what they're doing, and don't trust any active PVPers enough to listen to their feedback. It's a bad combination. Hopefully Zwillinger will be able to talk some sense into them. He's legitimately our only chance at change. |
you get my point. Stop getting Paragon employees to empathize with pvpers. They'll be let go.
Was this a necro'ed thread? Huh, Deja-vu..
I fully support the removal of heal decay and travel suppression. If the devs do nothing else except turning this off for another 3 years, it will greatly improve the pvp play experience across the board.
Ex Libris
what ever happened to that dude that posted on the forums saying he was the new community manager and wanted to know what we hated and loved about pvp?? - did he get fired before he moved across country?
I honestly think the issue here is one of communication.
The dev team have no idea what the playerbase wants from PVP. And they don't trust "experienced" PVPers enough to listen to their feedback.

Mind you the same percentage that are still willing to PvP even though the mechanics are horribly broken. As long as you pay your sub they don't give a ****.
You really haven't figured this out yet?
The devs aren't stupid; They know exactly what they need to do to repair pvp mechanics. They couldn't care less about the "experienced" pvpers feedback. The only reason PvP hasn't been repaired is because the developers have decided repairing pvp wouldn't be worth the time and effort since it's such a very small percentage of the coh community that do pvp.
