  1. Psychic Shockwave.

My Fire/Psi Dom was my favorite character before it was nerfed.
  2. Not sure if I'll be around. If I happen to be I can join, assuming I remember how to play.

    KM/?

CS was broken. When there's no other reason to choose a different powerset, you know it's OP. Not that I'm saying they know how to balance powersets since now it seems like it's gimped.
  4. Try sending a PM to Freitag, that's who sent me my code.

Thank you Silit for bringing this to my attention, and thanks to everyone who participated in the league. Good games everyone!
It's obviously because I wasn't there for the FAP match. My presence would have made that much of a difference!

No it isn't. This is a PvE change, low HP cap has been complained about for years, now Stalkers will actually get use out of Dull Pain and stuff. It'll help in PvP too, but won't make them OP or anything.

Not at all. I'm only speaking for myself. I just thought all those matches were way too boring with everyone standing around MM's, not moving the entire time.
  9. I guess it hasn't been as long as I thought. Most of the practices we did have were against FAP's MM lineup, which doesn't actually count.

We were unpracticed too. Not that it matters, I'm the worst Earth/Fire in CoH, practice will never help me.

That's not how a fight works.

Not in comics. Not in a movie. Not in reality.

It's a stupid mechanic that centers around AI being non-existent and from what I can tell, was championed 40 years ago by someone who made a PnP game who likely never threw a punch in their life.

It's artificial, phoney and we can and have done better in modeling combat, superhero or otherwise, in realtime games.

Does it hold no similarities to anything found in something approaching a comic book, cinematic or 'realistic' battle? Of course not. There are plenty of moments of someone taking the heat for a teammate, and I only have to look at the Justice League Unlimited episode 'Question Authority' to find an instance of Superman 'tanking' for Huntress and the Question.

But as a core mechanic, the overused backbone of 99% of the combat in this game and the sole focus of Tankers? It's grossly simplified, idiotic and fake in my opinion.

    [insert tongue into cheek]
Specifically, in Keyes, how ****ing stupid must Anti-Matter be to chase me for going "Unhh!" at him while people are messing with his reactors? Or follow anyone to the console when he knows that is exactly what we need to do to stop him?
And why WOULD Siege or Nightstar run to the tennis courts when they can stay under the protection of the guard towers and run out the clock to victory by refusing to move?

Do I hate helping my teammates by being a distraction? No. I hate that Tankers get screwed for doing that well, at the expense of better reflecting the Tankers in comics. And I hate that some ATs get more than they give back, take pride in running off on their own and being a-hats, solo better and don't hit a low ceiling when becoming an Incarnate.

    .
Not only do you not like your favorite AT or how they play, you don't like how the game plays as a whole. I could've sworn I've asked you this in the past, but why exactly are you playing a game you dislike so much?

Personally I can't stand playing scrappers that aren't /SD and claws can't be paired with shields.
Claws/Fire is great between Spin, Shockwave, Fireball and Burn. It's not as good a SS/Fire, but it's not too far off.
  13. He posted it because we wanna PvP against someone.

Sounds like something like a Fire/Posion would suit you.

Some of them still drop like a Blaster with no toggles against Earth/Fire's.

Its a waste of space having a Tanker who doesn't get to fulfil their roles. All tankers should be able to tank on their terms, terms that would be there had the brute not got everybody else killed.
Stop saying Brutes cause team wipes because they're bad at tanking, that never happens from my experience. You're not the glue holding the team together when you play your Tank. Team wipes shouldn't happen against regular mobs, especially with a Brute and a Tank on the team. The same against AV's, an AV isn't going to one shot 6 teamates with a cone. Even if they get hit with cones, it's just as much as their responsibility to move out of the way.

It just seems like you don't like playing a Tank with another taunter on the team because you can't play how you want to play.
  17. Ninjitsu can be tough too and can also do burnout/retsu. Although, you shouldn't really be dying on a Stalker, regardless the secondary.

I'm not comparing EVE's style of PvP to CoH, matter of fact I've gone out of my way to point out how different they are in several of my posts. Thor and I simply have a difference of opinion about what we consider to be competitive PvP. It's an argument neither of us can win.
So, you're saying WoW and CoD are some of the most competitive games in existence?
  20. I've had him despawn when I went to switch characters to take him down before. It also doesn't help that it sometimes takes forever for him to spawn in the first place.

However, I had Caleb despawn right in front of me before.

If I remember correctly, Thor has a super computer that can max out Battlefield 3 which is infinitely more demanding than EVE.

As far as PvP goes, I'll continue to PvP in this game if there's actually people to still PvP with and I don't mean zone, that gets boring very quickly. I plan on PvP'ing in TOR, not sure how competitive it'll be, but if it's fun I'll stick with it for a while. Also looking forward to GW2, the B2P model looks appealing.

Speak for yourself, if the instructions are bad, I won't listen to them. I can tell you that I wouldn't be the cause of a failed trial.

For example, if the leader said to use chokepoints on a BAF and if I'm on my SS/Fire I won't listen to them. How isn't my reasoning sound if I can kill all of the prisoners at a door without any problems?
