Discussion: When Do I Get My Paragon Points and Reward Tokens? (VIP)

Not to be a pain about this, but if the script goes in on 10/12, does that mean we will actually get the points on 10/12? Or will it take some time for the script to run meaning we have yet another delay getting points. I agree with some other posters in that I am getting frustrated. I don't want to bash the system or the fine people behind it as it is the first month, but I am currently going to be at least 11 days delayed in getting my points. In the grand scheme of things it isn't a huge deal but I know for any other service I paid for that showed up 11 days late I would be asking for a discount. I doubt there will be any additional refunds for this problem, but it sure would be nice to see some sort of compensation for all VIP members affected, or heck even all VIP members. I mean throw an extra 100 pp on the total for our inconvenience or something. Doubt it happens but it would go a long way towards making me less disgruntled.

Just to clarify, so you don't get further disgruntled, it won't be 10/12, it'll be 10/13 after the normal weekly maintenance; Zwill clarified that above, I'd say by 7:00-8:00am PDT you should have your points, as should the rest of us.

*sigh* alright. So it's either tomorrow, or it's Thursday, my point was more, if it ends up not being tomorrow don't get bent out of shape about it until after Thursday.

I am not bent out of shape, just disgruntled. I think that the majority of players probably feel the way I do. Especially with Street Justice sitting right there and taunting us. Also I think the string of posts after mine do justify my confusion. Also Zwill never said how long it would take for the script to work, just when it was going up. It was originally slotted to go up Monday for a disbursement of points on Tuesday. Is it so unreasonable to wonder if the script can effect a same day turn around on points if it goes up on Wednesday?

*sigh* I was not accusing *you* of getting bent out of shape. (Nor All_Hell for that matter) it was more a general statement to the thread, and/or anyone reading it not to get upset if it doesn't happen tomorrow, to wait until Thursday after maintenance. It's fine to ask about the script, but in general when scripts are run in programming (and when NC has run them in the past) the results are within seconds if not faster, so in effect it's intentanious, I would expect to see results by the time it's run tomorrow (or when maintenance ends on Thursday, whichever it turns out to be). Heck maybe it's going up tomorrow, and disbursing points on Thursday, I dunno, but once it's run, it should be largely instantanious.

My billing date is today, the 11th, yet no points. I am unclear if that means I was fronted my October points i nSeptember, or if there is a glitch. If my billing date was Oct 11thm should I have recieved 400 points?

NVM, I think this means I will get them Wednesday.

You probably will yes, that or Thursday after maint at worst.

The cutoff may well have ended up being or will end up being either tomorrow, or Thursday after maint (i.e. anyone before then gets them then, and after then gets them whenever the date is) that would be my assumption given they planned to run this script on the 11th, which was the date originally quoted, but didn't.

I Can't say I'm surprised by this latest screw up. I can say I'm still not throwing money at the game to buy Street Justice now instead of waiting the points I'm owed to get it though.

Not that this is all some elaborate plot to get impatient people to pay real dollars for street justice, even I'm not that cynical yeesh. It's just people being dumb. Annoying as hell, but nothing malicious.

If this happens again though (what is this, the fourth time we've had when we get our Points changed on us now? From "All up front" to "Billing Dates" To "October 11th" to... Whenever we get them now)... Then I may change my opinion.

EDIT: Okay, sure, still no topic announcing this. But could we at least get the OP edited? The OP still says 'you get them on the 11th'. There, now I've added practical and constructive content to this post.


Clearly, we need more lasers.

From what I have been told, points should start awarding tomorrow.

Experience tells me that scripts take time to run.

At this point, I don't have an ETA as to when those points will actually show up for you.

Um..just to cover a niggling issue before people start believing it was true. You were never promised all your points up front, that would be an incredibly stupid business move. They had attempted to award everyone's PARAGON REWARD TOKENS all up front, but ran into technical issues. Just to make sure that stays clear to everyone, upfront PARAGON POINTS was never in the cards (nor never should've been).

Noting that I have not received points nor a Paragon reward token, yet. I just got home from work, and checked and had neither. My sub ended on the 7ths (Accidentally, didn't have a recurring) and renewed immediately, not sure if this will cause a problem, but was hoping it would. Not sure if people got them yet, or not.

Thank you for the information. This opens up the question of why the entire billing publish was delayed. And the next question is what steps have been taken to ensure that next month's script runs properly and, beyond that, the scripts that have been promised to fix the whole billing cycle-VIP Paragon Points problem.

This is an ongoing, long-term customer service issue, and we're not cool with it.

At this time, my VIP Paragon Points have not yet been properly credited to my account.

Does anyone know if those who are purchasing Paragon Points directly are getting their Reward Token for every 1200 points properly? Because if so, this system has been so messed up lately, that it has me thinking I'd be better off cancelling my VIP subscription and using the sub money to buy points each month instead.

I know it ran properly when I purchased 15 bucks worth of points for Street Justice.

The problem with the reward tokens currently is they favor buying points over subscribing. Since they have stated that their goal with Freedom is to encourage subscriptions more, that particular imbalance seems counter to their stated goal.

Not that I am saying that's what is going on by intention. Of course, I am not saying that it's NOT going on by intention either.
But it IS what is going on by effect.


I am not sure how the current situation could effectively be distinguished from a situation where the delays were an intentional ploy. Nor the converse--how a ploy like the one hypothesized could be distinguished from the current situation.

It does seem that customers are being inconvenienced to keep the company from being inconvenienced. This isn't something that we're not used to seeing in a world with a competitive service industries.

The main difference between MMO world and other service industries is that they're holding our toons hostage. We can't just load up our toons and take them to the next MMO down the road. imho, Consequently, the service standards of MMOs lag behind the service standards of other service industries where customers can more freely associate and disassociate themselves from the service provider. ymmv
